First dont watch and drive.
Second find aaad from this forum.
Install it. You have one download free monthly from this app.
Open app and download fermata auto.
Open formata auto in android auto on your car screen. Middle icon is youtube.
Find what you want and press play.

At the moment, I have an Android 8.0-based Chinese head unit but the quality is poor.
I was considering buying an Android Auto system from Sony or Pioneer.
I use the TuneIn application from the Play Store a lot on my current head unit.
Is it possible to get said application for Android Auto, as it's an Android application, or do they need to have a dedicated Android Auto application?

Unfortunately, it's the build quality that's poor. The speaker outputs slowly died one-by-one and the included software/hardware combination never allowed a solid 4G connection via. 4G dongle.
Does Android Auto have a seperate application store
Unfortunately, the app is not yet available everywhere around the world. If you live in a region where Android Auto has not become available, you can use VPN to change your Google Play Store region. This will allow you to download and install geo-restricted applications on your Smartphone.
TuneIn Radio is compatible with Android Auto. There's no separate app. If you install and run AA on your phone, you can test it out.
The Play Store has a dedicated section for Android Auto-compatible apps that can be accessed from the pullout menu in the Android Auto app on your phone.
I have an OP 6T with android auto but not mirrorlink, my car audio has both.
I didn't like android auto because it can't call on whatsapp or play audio messages as well as it can't play my music by folder.
As some rare roms like Omnirom add mirrorlink support, it looks purely software, meaning we can install it in any android rom.
So any one knows how Omnirom added mirrorlink to add it in other roms?
Do you mean play local music? If you want to do it through android auto, PowerAmp works in Android Auto.
Also, in your Android Auto settings, turn off "Lock phone while driving" and you can play anything you want through Android Auto.

Thanks
I forgot about poweramp, didnt know it was compatible.
Tried it and it rocks!
At last I can browse per folder.
Another bonus is that I can boost volume in my car, dunno why android auto is too quiet out of the box, tried v4a and dolby but none worked with AA, only poweramp
So I'm having a bit of a problem. I like to play my music through pi music player and I've tried everything but can't get it to show up on Android auto. I'm already in developer mode and I have unknown sources enabled but no matter what it doesn't show up to be added in the customize menu option. Can someone please help!

Hi everyone,
I own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone (running Android 8.0) and a 2019 DS7 Crossback car.
On my smartphone I have downloaded Android Auto, Cartube and Cartube Controller. So far, so good.
As soon as I connect the smartphone to the car with a USB cable, the Android Auto app on the smartphone starts automatically. On the car's touch screen, it launches the Android Auto app and shows me all the apps I have on my smartphone, including CARTUBE and CARTUBE CONTROLLER.
When I open (from the car touch screen) the CARTUBE app, I am presented with the screenshot I have attached in the photo. My problem is that I can't search for any video..... What should I do to make CARTUBE work???
Thanks to anyone who wants to help me.
Michele.

Yes, I also tried "Fermata Auto" but I can't get that to work either.
