The Wifi Signal on this phone is kinda weak , both 2.4ghz and 5ghz
my other phone (Xiaomi Mi10T Pro and Redmi 9t) doesn't have these problem
is it because Mediatek chipsets have bad wifi connection ? the other two i mention have qualcomm chips

Today, received my phone and first thing I noticed was poor WiFi speed and upon further looking I saw poor link speed on 2.4Ghz connection and my other devices including redmi note 4(mido) and redmi 4(santoni) all had link speeds of 150Mb/s up and down while mi A2 was at 65Mb/s up and down even if I kept the phone next to router. None of my devices suffer the issue. Is the issue specific to my device or anyone else facing same? Should I return phone cause I still can. Also if anyone facing same issue can you try to see if issue exist in GSI roms as well? P.S. I am on September security patch.
Did you tried 5 ghz band?
That's what I get with the 5GHz networks. With 2.4GHz I get around 2-3 Mbps up and down. Just aweful.
The speeds are ok with me its just the range that sucks even with a case on. i had to take off the case to get that bit of extra range. They have to patch this or fix somehow cause my Moto G5Plus has waaay better range than this.

Yes, I have this issue. On 2.4GHZ network the fastest Link speed on Mi A2 is locked at 72mpbs and this was the case with Mi A1 also. But on the 5GHZ network it get higher Link speed but the stability is so bad.
I am sending a feedback via the feedback app after every update so they unlock the link speed but still nothing happened.
Just checked my 2.4GHz connection. I got the highest speed since I've bought the phone at a whopping 15Mbps on a 200Mbps network. That said, I can barely connect to the 2.4 GHz network since it just keeps dropping it. On the other hand, the 5GHz one went down to 50Mbps max... It's not exactly a deal breaker for me since I can still do everything I need on the 5 GHz network, but I'm curious what can be done about it.
Hello and sorry for my bad english. I always have Wi-Fi issues with my mi a2. ROM stock, gsi....
I heve already converted it to mi 6x and always same issues ( gsi, miui 10)....
It seems my wifi got better with that new kernel no more Disconnects.
Looks like the same issue with the A1.

Return the phone and buy other, maybe poco
The reception is bad, the speed are ok. My 5 old year Galaxy S4 have better range.
I have poor speed in 2,4 and 5gh.
And serious disconnecting problems in 5gh. I finished by don't use it as all...
Perfect with redmi note 7 and redmi note 8t.
Which custom rom have best and most stable wifi?
I'm going to buy this phone (Redmi 9T), and I will use it mostly at home with WiFi connection. Is there any problem in this phone like weak WiFi reception or random disconnects?
Update: I bought this phone and didn't find any problems in WiFi.
I haven't faced it.
Nope no random disconnect at all on my home network. I have 2 routers and both of them works perfectly fine
I have same thing, Redmi 9T 6/128gb ROM MIUI 12.0.4.0
10 meter from router and concrete wall, when held by hand the signal disappears, but when it is put down the signal returns 2 bars.
where is the problem?

What is your router?. Did you set transmit power in your router to highest?

yeah somehow the antenna of this phone is not very good with wifi somehow. My honor 5x does better than this device when i far way from router.
Compared to any other phone I had, the wifi signal of the Redmi 9T is the worst.
Is there any other option to use usb wifi adapter connecting to the Mi 10i 5g phone as phones in built wifi is not getting enabled & service centre people are saying that it is issue with the board. Can anyone help me so that i can make use of Internet wifi in my house & office on Mobile phone.
Which rom are you in?
I met the same issue when I flashed to miui eu13.
Then I test back to miui cn and pixelos, both wifi works good.

Does anyone here face Poco m4 pro 5g screen flickering problem and Poco M4 Pro 5g wifi, Bluetooth and Hotspot not turning on problem ?
Poco m4 pro 5g problems started appearing after the latest software update. The new update problems on my phone include screen flickering issue which goes away when phone is restarted and then comes back later. It is also present on Poco m4 pro 4g phone too as per experiences I found over internet.
The WiFi, Bluetooth and wifi Hotspot not turning on problem is present on Poco m4 pro especially after playing games or using the camera app. The heating problem, I think, is making the CPU to prevent turning on communication so as to avoid overheating. Poco m4 pro 5g Bluetooth and wifi problem can be solved only by a phone restart as of now.
Please leave a comment if you are having Poco m4 pro 5g problems after new software update.
I lived in apartment and wifi 5Ghz channel is quite crowded. So, I'm considering move to 6Ghz.
According to GSMArena. Xiaomi 11T Pro is not support 6E. However, Qualcomm page do mention that Snapdragon 888 has WiFi 6E built in.
So, I wonder that is Xiaomi 11T Pro support 6Ghz or not?

The fact that the number 6 appears on the Wi-Fi icon does not mean that it is on the 6ghz frequency, it means that you are connected to a network with Wi-Fi 6 technology, that is, 802.11ax, but going back to the original question in the post, the snapdragon 888 mounts the FastConnect 6900 chip, which does have support for wifi6E.

It was Xiaomi who decided that the 11 t pro only has Wifi6.
As with some other devices like the 12 pro may have WiFi 6E depending on the country.

Oh ok sorry , I will delete my post.
It would be more beneficial to move to the 2.4ghz band rather than up. the range and coverage is typically better. You should be able to reach 150mbit with 2.4ghz band.
If your 5ghz band is overcrowded you may need a more powerful AP.
Alternatively you could use an ethernet cable and connect the ethernet adapter on your usbc port.
2.4 GHz also crowded and I already have a Gigabit internet. So, I don't move to 2.4GHz.
A USB port is not practical. because it is a phone.
My temporary solution is to move AP close to my bed as possible because I mainly use my phone on the bed. but it make a wifi randomly disconnect when go to the toilet.
