this phone has a 32-bit vendor means nothing 64-bit won't work on it. Unless xiaomi will publish 64-bit vendor or make the MIUI 12.5 update 64-bit but i don't think they will.

nope. 9c has 64 bit hardware but only comes with 32 bit vendor. Therefore, a 64bit vendor is possible

i did not say that this phone has 32-bit hardware, it does not, i know that the G35 is a 64-bit CPU.

"this phone has a 32-bit vendor means nothing 64-bit won't work on it" implies that you did.

i said that vendor is 32-bit not the hardware

Guys, all it takes is an acknowledgement of saying something that's misleading.
Gabiblocks ought to have clarified in his 1st response that even though t pgone has 64b hardware ....
I too wud hv been misled hadn't I'd known better.

I have good news for you there is a 64 bit ROM compatible with the redmi 9C it is CR-DROID under Android 11 the disadvantage is that to flash this rom you must already be under MIUI 12.0.10 . there is also a problem with the network which is fixed by installing a magisk module (hotspot) and there is low sound during calls. And it takes the NikGapps.I will make a post for the tutorial

This is exactly what I've been hoping for! You'd be doing a great service by posting/linking to the post! If not, could you maybe point me in the right direction or where to search for it?
It's downright annoying running a 32bit ROM on a v8-a chip

64bit Rom

Is there a way to leave the firmware as it is and only increase it to 64bit without changing much?
no, thats not how that works at all.

The only possibility of getting to 64-bit is if motorola releases 64-bit source code after launch, and then someone creates a custom rom using it. This actually happened with the original Moto Z Play, so there is a chance. But we're not there yet.

Likely only if a device originally shipped with the 64 bit OS (e.g. G6 Plus). If you've got the G6 with a 32 bit OS, the update would likely be 32 bit, with you requiring custom development for a 64 bit custom ROM. From what I understand, moving from 32 bit to 64 bit may need a device wipe, which a lot of users (especially non-XDA or non enthusiast users) may not understand or happy with if that was mandatory for a system update.
What's the point in having 64bit on this device?

As far as I know, mainly the reason for wanting 64 bit on the G6 would be to use certain apps that are only 64 bit (e.g. Google Camera and in this case, fortnite). The G6 has 4 GB of RAM so the memory addressing advantage wouldn't be in use (unlike the G6 plus which can include up to 6 GB apparently), though could be argued you may get better performance from 64 bit. However, drivers may have to be re written or modified from the 32 bit system to work on the 64 bit, even if you could flash the 64 bit custom ROM, there may be bugs.
As a non-developer, it would be my assumption that the bootloader and vendor files would have to know how to interact with 64bit parameters. Despite our hardware supporting 64bit, the underlying software must support it as well. Like others have said, Motorola would have to release the source or build it for us.
I dont know a lot about this, but i think the Moto G5 Plus community got it.
They did the firmware 64 bit despite the fact that Motorola didnt do anything

@dejello is working on 64bit support. last i heard he had a 64bit kernel working in TWRP with a working display.

[DISCUSSION] Has anyone been trying to develop a custom ROM for Redmi 6A?

Xiaomi has recently said that Redmi 6A will neither get Android 9.0 Pie update nor MIUI 11 update. So it's only a matter of time before they stop providing updates at all, including security or bugfix updates.
So, has anyone been trying to develop a custom ROM for this device? To inform everyone concerned, it's kernel sources have already been released. Also, I'm no developer, but due to the fact that this device supports Project Treble, it shouldn't be too hard to build a ROM for it. Or at least someone could try and build an arm64 version of the ROM, if possible (This device has a 32bit ROM running on a 64bit processor).
So I politely ask the developers present here on this forum to try and make a custom ROM for Xiaomi Redmi 6A. We'll all be thankful.
i don't know how many mediatek devices out there have custom roms, but i think it's not as easy as qualcomm devices to have custom roms.
i've tried many GSI images on my 6A and none booted, despite this device being compatible with Treble. Also i've read in some sites that it will indeed receive the miui 11 update, we just don't know when.
I really hope someone make an actual rom for our device, because this Treble and GSI thing is just an unneccessary ummount of hassle and the result seems to be rather buggy judging from all fixes and patches you have to flash after flashing a GSI.
Anyone can port Pie 9.0 rom from Oukitel C15 Pro Helio A22 chipset?

As far as I know, this device has a 64 bit processor, yet the ROM is 32 bit. Any idea why is it like this?

it's an ARMv7 processor, if you want to test GSI roms you need an ARM/A only GSI image. I've finally been able to install a custom GSI image that works properly, albeit with minor bugs. Still a proper custom ROM is unbeatable in my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, this device has Helio A22 chipset, with Cortex A53 processor, which is ARMv8 64bit.

Only the ROM (including the kernel and everything) seems to be 32bit.
Flashing an arm64 GSI wont work, because other partitions like vendor will still be 32 bit, and thus make the GSI incompatible. We'll probably need a real custom ROM with all its components compiled as 64 bit.

If the cpu has 64bit support then i don't know why they didn't use it. But so far we only have ARM GSI as an option for custom rom.
translate: this is a tutorial made in Indonesia that makes the vendor redmi 6a / 6 certus = cactus / cereus to boot the arm64 rom, the rom uses the nusantaraos rom https://nusantararom.org/
edit: i put wrong link, now that real video

it's obvious, anyone can fingd this information on internet. this project is interesting. but i didn't see in this this section active users with necessary skill for a kernel compiling. most of this they still haven't figured out the right way to flash a gsi
I try to attract a lot of developers to help these people who could help them build and fix kernel problems and fix the touchscreen in TWRP and we also install GSI via fastboot

it is a good initiative. I am a good modder but unfortunately at the programming level I am poor. I hope you will find someone able to do that. but I think it's not easy. until now no one has succeeded
PS: actually flash gsi is possible and for my experience also very simple
thank you, I will try to find people who will help if you want to help in some way, you are always happy

And having flashed 6 GSI make you important? especially when you tell me that you have to root my phone to install a GSI or that you can't use "XiaomiADBFastbootTools" if you don't have Linux LOL I use it every day under Windows and yet I'm in dual boot with Linux Mint.
have a good day

you didnt understant what i have said. probably my English is not perfect. ps: i have modded my first phone with android 4.1 firmware. so i have flashed more than 6 gsi. HOWEVER THIS DOESN'T MAKE ME MORE IMPORTANT, I'M NOT A PRESUMPTION
the fact remains that these problems do not concern me, and I might even avoid trying to help. rather you who are so good, why not create a detailed guide where you explain how to flash a gsi without risking ibootloop? I could also do it, but I gladly leave the honor to you.
xiaomifastboot tools for linux i'm talking are these. is a java script, probably work also under win, but under linux are better and easier to use
pps. LINUX MINT?!? WOW I'M IMPRESSED. LOL

Has anyone installed Redmi 9 Lancelot Official Lineage OS rom on redmi 9 lava

right now i have redmi 9 lava (3/32) and seeing the new redmi 9 lancelot official rom i wonder if it will work on my phone without problems. Has anyone tried it?
I have the 4Gb RAM version and LOS 20 works fine although its using up to 2.8Gb RAM. Personally I wouldn't run Android 13 aka LOS 20 on a 3Gb RAM phone. I actually wish I got the 6Gb RAM version.

I currently have the pixel experience rom installed and it definitely runs much better than stock. You didn't encounter any problem with the installation, did you? Also if you have any problem I would like to hear it. Thank you very much my friend for the reply!
In addition, updates are done normally?
Yes there is weekly OTA updates. Also yes LOS 20 runs much better than stock, faster and uses less ram, on stock miui 13 Android 12 I couldn't even run two apps at the same time such as Outlook and Chrome. As for installation you need MIUI 13 Android 12, the latest stock rom, otherwise LOS 20 won't work, I believe it will bootloop. I just followed the instructions on LOS website, didn't have any problem.
Also I used the default LOS recovery instead of TWRP as TWRP isn't updated anymore and I wasn't sure if it will work. You need to unlock bootloader using Xiaomi app or a script from here Xda if you don't want to wait several days for the Xiaomi app unlock as there is a waiting timer, idk why Xiaomi did this.
you have me completely covered. I have done this process many times and know what to do, thanks for the advice anyway. You sure have the "lava" version right? Because you mentioned above that you wanted to buy the version with the 6gb ram which is only available in the Lancelot version and I would like to be sure

ok thank you again.
With a little research I had done, I believed that the LOS rom was not exactly designed for my phone but for another version (there are roms that say it's for the lava version and roms that say it's for the Lancelot version). I'll try to install it soon and hopefully I won't have any problems. Thank you very much
