Question Can MIUI 13 update be rolled back? - Xiaomi Mi 11

I foolishly upgraded to MIUI 13 despite there seemingly being little advantage to doing so. Now, my keyboard app from 2017 doesn't work well any more. The app company went out of business so no more updates. It's the only keyboard I've ever found that lets me input Chinese pinyin by Swype. I need it. Is there any way to roll back the update? I screwed myself.

yes

How?

Yes i just did it today. I went back to miui 12.5 with android 11. I open bootloader, then flash latest miui 12.5 via mi flash tool. Not sure if there is another way how to do it.

Oh, so it's not a rollback, it's a re-flash. I lose all my settings and such. Damn.

Yeah. Its first roll of miui 13 for Mi 11 and because of different version on each miui u can't do rollback i guess

how updates are delivered?

Hi! i am very new to the xiaomi community. i have just bought a pre-owned xiaomi mi 9.
it was shipped to me via POST mail, when i opened the phone it is a xiaomi mi 9 chinese version.
i am planning to flash either miui eu , miui global or revos. i just want to ask
how are the updates on these roms (miui eu, miui global, and revos) delivered? do i need to reflash every time? or i can just update just like a regular stock miui chinese rom? (a.k.a. by going to the settings and clicking the update button there and rebooting)
thank you.

Yes, you can update via settings normally on these roms (OTA), so no, you don't need to wipe and reflash everytime. :good:
Nonetheless it will always be better to clean install, as sometimes updating like this can cause slow downs / issues.

you and i have the same version (6gb ram / 128gb storage). i see that you are using the revos, have how is it? have you tried the miui eu? miui global? may you please give me your insights? thank you very much..
I have a same phone like you, and I've been using miui eu edition for months. You have to install updates(downloadable in settings) in the rec, but you don't need to wipe data, just cache/dalvik. So it's kinda convenient.

Roll back EMUI 10 VOG-L29

Hi.
Im quite New, so might be a bit stupid.
Im trying to roll back the EMUI 10 beta. It has disappeared from My Beta App. When trying to do a factory reset it just starts up with EMUI 10/Android Q.
Have tried to flash it with a 9.1 version, actually with several versions, it always fails..
Any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.
Reason that a want to roll back is because i cant use Android Auto buildt into Android Q in Denmark, and cant install it from APK.
Kind regards
Morten
For me project also disappeared in BETA app... I wonder whether Huawei decided to go live and make that build official?
And I don't see any option to downgrade either

Connect to PC via Hisuite, you should have an option under system upgrade to downgrade to 9.1.
Talking to Huawei rep today, it looks like that they have already started the official rollout of v10, so that it probably the reason why that is not a beta anymore. I asked them because I wanted to know on why the new P30 Pro purple was sold with V10 when black version with V9. I was very curious to know if there was any hardware difference or just software.

Question Revert to original Chinese stock firmware from EU ROM

Does anybody know if you were to revert back to the phones original firmware (Chinese) from the EU ROM would it be possible to relock the bootloader safely. Thought I heard that this wasn't possible but now I'm not sure as this was some time ago.
Yu can, by using song miflash. BUT only with the firmware wat was on it... So global phone can't get locked with CN build and vice versa
After posting it seems some people have problems with Google syncing and such so for for someone paid someone not in China maybe it's not the best option for someone outside China.
I'm using the weekly beta CN version (A12) for months now and didn't have any issues. Syncing works without problems and since I disabled (removed) the powerkeeper all messages arrive on time. Let's say with my kind of phone usage I didn't have any problems or heat ups. Therefore using as daily driver and didn't regret it.
Also tried .eu, GLOBAL and EEA versions. But always came back to the CN weekly one.
Great, so is the weekly Chinese A12 already up to MIUI 13? Maybe I'll just go ahead and give it a try.

I'm using the weekly/daily from here:
[PORT] BETA MIUI A12
Good afternoon The XD team (Xyen and Dargonswim) has managed to port the Chinese betas with Android 12 for anyone who wants to test it. You only need to have the bootloader open. Installation (FASTBOOT): - Enter fastboot mode (vol - and...

Never had an issue with it. But if you are coming from another version I strongly recommend to do a "full install with wipe" the first time. Otherwise you will run into issues here and there. In worst case just get into bootloop. So backup and use the first version from install.bat with wipe.
From 27.12.2021 on it is already on MiUi 13 "beta". But you won't see really a difference. The MiUi in use here might be more in the background. But no visible change from the weekly/daily 12.5.

Question Anyone hasn't received the MIUI 13 update?

I think it has been a while since the update started to roll out right? I don't know if it's normal that I am still not receiving the MIUI 13 update ,any ideas?

All MIUI 13 (EEA/GLOBAL) are not Stable / Public.
If you want now, you can install manually, but make a backup before, if update is not upgraded successful you can lose all your data.

Question Will Redmi Note 11 get Android 13?

Since Android 12 is coming out, I want to know if Xiaomi will ever release Android 13 in Redmi Note 11.
I don't intend to root or put custom rom yet. But I will do once Xiaomi stops supporting the device.
So, maybe I will flash custom rom later.
Currently with MIUI 13.0.15 android. Xiaomi Ram management is very bad.
Hi Pulsar,
If you download MIUI Downloader, or MIUI Updater.... It will tell you what MIUI and Android versions your device should get. When I last looked, it did say that we are due to get Android 13.
But seeing as they've not resolved/fixed Android 12 for our device yet, I think it will be at least another year away before we see Android 13 on this device anytime soon....
As most of us are still stuck on Android 11, unless with force-flash the A12 firmware....
Cheers, Lister

I do agree with Lister. Yestaday I flashed/locked/cleaned my RN11 with MiFlash Tool all the way back to android 11 and then after using it for few minutes this so called "update available dialogue" appeared on my screen. Obviously I clicked download but when It got updated, Duh it was way sluggish than the beta recovery rom. A lot of minor but necessary stuff was missing. Then again I unlocked the bootloader, installed recovery and flashed Evo X A12 rom. The struggle was real and the rom came out to be smooth as well.
