I am interested in buying the Smart Dock for the Note 2, but I cannot go without a case as I have already had to replace the phone once. I am currently using the Seidio Active case and was wondering if it would still fit in the dock? I have heard that Samsung has left some wiggle room for cases in reviews, but will it be enough to accommodate the kickstand as well?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jared

My guess from seeing other docks/chargers you need a slimmer case, like Surface or any TPU cases. Active might be too tight, but I don't know for sure.
I just received my smart dock 2 days ago and I also use the Active case, it does not fit properly. You have to press down the phone to fully sit in the USB prong and it connects fine but as soon as you go, the spring loaded usb prong and the rubber on the case pulls it back out. When I want to dock, I just partially remove the bottom part of the case or remove it completely.
Hey there,
i am looking for a protective case to use with my quadlock universal adapter. For those of you who don't know it: It's a mount system that can e.g. be used on bikes.
This is what the adapter looks like (attachement). It basically gets glued on back of the phone (uargh) or on back of a protective casing.
Therefore the case should have:
*a hard plastic back surface (non-rubbery, non-TPU/silicone), so that the adhesive can stick well
*a flat back surface (because the adapter is flat itself, so the contact area is very small when it is glued to a curved surface such as the M8's)
*a tight fit (at least it should not easily come off), as this thing is what holds the M8 on my bike when I go downhill.
Somehow it was really easy to find such a case for my old Galaxy S3, but for the M8 I already bought three different cases and none of them looks trustworthy in combination with this adapter. If you have any ideas, suggestions etc - or have seen a case that meets the criteria above, I would be really thankful. Even better, if it's available somewhere on amazon...
Thanks a lot and best regards!

my seidio dilex is as far as i can tell totally flat on the back. I use it with a tetrax nub superglued to the back and it works great. I like it because when im on out of town trips or when im not gonna be driving when going out with friends, i can easily remove it and swap to a bumper or slim case without much hassle.
Hello,
I wanted to get this but I wanted to know if it has worked for you so far...since the HTC m8 is a bit curved to fit the hands as well. please let me know on your findings!
Cheers,
Hey Ns4n3,
I asked the QuadLock support and they recommended the otterbox commuter series.
However I found it still to be a fair bit curved. I tried it nevertheless - haven't had a problem so far but now on the edges the adhesive starts to delaminate. It's still rocksolid, whatsoever. I would'nt hesitate mounting it to my bike yet.
Cheers,

I was wondering how your Otterbox / Quadlock is going a few months later? Still happy with it or has the delamination continued?
I am considering the same combo but trusting my phone to a strip of adhesive makes me nervous!
The Official Samsung website only lists the S6 as a compatible device but does the S6 Edge work too? I just ordered an S6 edge and really wanted that case. Can anyone confirm if they tried or have an Edge with the S-View cover please.
If it doesn't work with the edge does anyone think they'll make one down the line for the edge? Now with the clear view confirmed as scratching screen they'll probably have to pull them out of the market.
They are available:

That link shows an incorrect listing. They are showing Clear View cases (which exists for both S6 and Edge) not S-View cases.
AFAIK there are no S-View cases for the Edge, only for the normal S6. And no the normal S6 S-View case won't fit the Edge.
I have no idea why they don't release S-View cases for the Edge though. The S-View case is the only one that is normal S6 exclusive. All the other cases exist for both Edge and normal (Clear Case, Protective Case, Clear View Case, and the Flip Wallet).
EDIT:
Ok looking through some of the listings there seems to be some 3rd-party manufacturers who have made S-View and Clear View type cases for the Edge. However, the reviews on them don't look good. Ie. apparently they are just a case, they don't enable the extra functionality that comes with the real S-View cases.
There's security NFC chips embedded into the real Samsung cases that are meant to prevent counterfeits. So unless the 3rd-party manufacturer is officially licensed from Samsung or they've somehow emulated the security chip, you won't get the extra functionality out them. It'll just be a dumb case like any other dumb case.
I guess we got to wait for an official S-View release. Samsung is investigating all the complaints about the clear view cover so they might ditch it completely and go for an s-view cover.
The same problem with the S-View Cover , scratces under the window , a lot of them..... Talked to Samsung which admits they had a few complaints about this today.

i thought it was only the clear view. Damn this sucks. I hope they fix this soon. I guess ill have to go for a screen protector. Do you recommend any brand? Im trying to find something that doesnt give that orange peel effect and doesnt affect visibility/colors etc of the screen.,
Hello all,
There doesn't seem to be a lot of choice in terms of cases for the Tab S6. All the cases on Amazon have a cut out for the stylus which makes it stick out and they don't cover the sides of the tablet either.
I like the Samsung case but it's too expensive and more importantly for me, does not cover the sides.
Please post your recommendations here...
Thanks in advance

I've yet to find a third party case that has a cover system for the pen too
I've gone with the official book cover with a 10.5inch sleeve to put both in when it's in my bag etc. All of the ones on eBay, amazon, aliexpress etc all have a cut out for the pen which you will 100% lose the pen at some point. Following this thread incase someone has found one.
Until I decide on a case with a pen holder—doesn't have to accomodate the pen slot, and I don't have the keyboard—I've just Dremeled the camera lens slot of my S5e case to make it bigger. So, I might just get an S5e case with a pen holder and do the same.
@TiTiB do you know if the S5e cases fit the S6? I would be looking to do the same if it does.

Fits perfectly.
I like the official keyboard case

I preordered the poetic rubberize shell last night, I also like the samsung keyboard case for travel
There are a couple of options on Amazon that cover the pen.. though in a different way.
The main cover comes all the way around and then flips over a couple of inches onto the back to cover the pen cut-out.
They are a keyboard cover but the keyboard can be taken out as it is connected via magnets.
ULTRAMARINE Backlit Keyboard Case Galaxy Tab S6 Case 2019 T860 T865 SM-T860 SM-T865 Custer Leather Bluetooth Keyboard Magnetic Closed Samsung Galaxy S6 10.5 inch 2019 Keyboard Cover Case with Pencil Holder (Blue+Black)
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07XH2HJ15/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_dYrJDbAWE61EZ
I got the Poetic Rubber case yesterday. It's a much better case than it was for the s4. It fits tight, perfectly edge to edge of the screen and I love the extra retainer for the pen. This case works great in DEX mode or if you are not using the hidden nav options. You can easily hold the tab by the edge of the case in both portrait and landscape. The only issue with the case is that it makes edge swiping a little difficult. It does add a little weight, but holding in one hand is not an issue.
Moko Folio Case, Logitech K480 Keyboard
I also have been wavering about what case and finally decided to by an inexpensive Moko Folio for about $10 while things sort themselves out. It is a typical folio feature-wise with the exception that the S-pen slot on the back has an elastic cover up about half the pen and makes it much more secure while letting it rest in the magnetic slot for charging.
For a keyboard (lots of people seem to be reporting lots of problems with the Samsung keyboard) I am using a Logitech K480 which I already own and use with other tablets. It has three-position switch with retains bluetooth parameters for three-different devices, keys with decent feel and a slot to put the tab in to hold it up. It also comes with a semi-hard case which has a padded slot in the front cover for the tablet (even with the folio cover).
It's still soon so I will keep watching...
Case with S pen holder
I found this on Amazon, It features the same type of S pen holder as the official Samsung case, I have just ordered one myself.

huh? the s5e case does not fit the s6 very well at all.
when I used the Samsung s5e book cover on the Tab S6, the rear cameras did not fit within the S5e case hence the s5e case was not attached securely with the magnetic attachment.
if you cut out a larger hole in the s5e case for the s6 cameras, then it might be better.

The S Pen is based on electromagnetic resonance. I assume the company wasn't cognizant of how a separate magnetic field could present a problem, which is unfortunate. This case's styling is perfect, so hopefully the design will be altered.

I haven't got it yet, but will give my opinion of it when I do.
Whats the best case without magnetic pins?

I got this case too ($13.99) and I like it. I even put one of my silicone nose pads (small size) on the case's S-Pen flap so that I could more easily pull it open.

I have tried a few cases and this is the best one I could find (and previously recommended on here) and it was a reasonable price. It’s nice and light and has a place to store the pen to stop it getting lost. The cover also activates the wake sleep when opening and closing.

I keep my tablet in a pouch when not in use along with a good little Bluetooth keyboard which I have used on previous tablets which is also really well made and has a built in trackpad and comes with its own sleeve, again this is reasonably priced.

I also have a Microsoft Arc mouse which I was given and as that folds flat it also fits nicely inside the sleeve I have

I have used this setup with Dex and the keyboard / mouse combination works great

Hey. Can anyone share their experience with using the s21 ultra with its silicone case+s-pen? Is it that big and heavy? Any limitations? I want to upgrade from note 10 but I am worried that I may not be able to use the s-pen properly.
I have it. Fits well adds some width but no weight to speak of. S pen works well . I use a spigen case monday to Friday for more protection as I have little use for the pen at work but use it a lot at weekend
I also have it. Back in the day I had the original Note, then the Note 3, and ultimately never really used the S pen a lot, so my next phone didn't have it. I decided to try it out again and got the pen/case combo. So far, again, I haven't used it much. I do have a Spigen Liquid Air case I can switch to if I find I NEVER use the pen, but for now I'm sticking with the case+pen to keep it handy to give me a chance to find a use for it. The extra width doesn't really bother me (previous phone was an S20U).

I have it and love it.. Good protection, no extra weight basically. If you have a pet, hair tends to stick to the back of the case. Once you put it on, you will notice how the left side is thicker than the right side due to the s pen, but the feeling of the case being uneven on the sides goes away rather quickly. If you use the spen a lot, then I recommend this case.
I have it, but the s-view cover. It's just the silicon case + spen but with the flip. I love it so much, it protects your screen pretty well.
I have the silicone case with pen. For me it proves the need to keep the pan silo in the phone.
Consider that the phone is designed to hold in left hand (since most of the planet is right handed). Clipping the pen on the left edge makes for difficult removal. My pen and case sit on the desk unused for this reason.
I am using the spigen S-pen case and have no problems case was cheaper then the combo from samsung and I like it better. Highly recommend it
