Hello,
So far I noticed I am missing:
vibration sound for incoming calls
Call vibration pattern the Sync with Ringtone option
Also, I dont see anything for animal photos as it was listed on the new features.
Still checking what else my ultra may be missing.
Thanks
Quite a few features from the advertised feature list are missing in the final OTA. I don't know if these will be coming later on but it's highly doubtful!
The animal pictures is present, but is not a function you can switch on of off: it detects pets/animals in picture, while earlier only persons were recognised. A tracking gate is shown in camera.
This can helpful for auto focus and tracking of the pet while filming. Not a mind blowing feature IMHO...

So a bracket is supposed to come up automatically when it detects an animal? Cause right now I have to tap on my puppy so that it stars tracking it but I can as well tap on an object and it will keep track of it as I move the frame around.
Just want to make sure I understand how it works.
I hate that the recent apps shows a bunch of stock crap at bottom now. Actually about to put my SIM back into old iPhone.

I see from your tag that you are in the US. I am in the US and have the SD S22 Ultra and with the current ROM, I have all those features. So do you mean they are missing or not working?

The first 2 missing. The pet recognition, I cant tell for sure if its working or not. I dont see anything special.
Strange. All that is present and working on mine. If I go take a picture of my dogs, the screen frames them. As you can see from the attached pictures, the settings are present on my S22 Ultra. Also, the phone places a box on my dog when I go to take a picture.

Your signature claims you are on an S22, this is the S21 Ultra forum. No one is debating the S22 having them, we are talking in and about the S21 Ultra.
OK, just wanted to let you know that on my S22 they are all available. Never had the S21. Went from an S20+ to the S22 Ultra. Take care.

FWIW, I complained on Samsung Members but I'm not very hopeful. They have acknowledged the complaint but nothing has progressed since...bloody losers
Here's an update from the Samsung members app...don't be so hopeful anyways
I got an extra update today and it added the pet camera tracking for me!

Has anyone seen the new commercial from ATT with the 2 guys starting a brewery business? They show the tilt a few times.
I almost fell of my chair laughing when the guy took a picture with his "customer" in a bar. The lighting in the room would have made my phone cry for light. Obviously it was all superimposed but funny none the less.
yep i noticed that too.
youtube link?
The thing that boggles my mind is that the superimposed images of the text message kind of look like WM6.1 in an orange color.
Commercial is first link on this page: http://www.skyscraperbrewing.com/events/commercial.html
I love how they use a flash transition between the scene where the salesman is using the camera and next scene where the brewer is looking at the picture. As if to imply that the phone actually has a flash.
Yea I've seen the advert. I think that when he takes the picture with the phone facing the wrong way due to the fact thar there is no front camera

I really needed this feature! I get that some people didn't like it, but all you had to do was turn it off! This is why we can't have nice things...
Lol you must be joking.
Checkout in gallery edit image options. May be they've put something similar there. So that after you've made a picture, you could edit it with similar or the same effect. I haven't searched myself. And in the pervious phones I haven't used the thing you've mentioned, but I have seen it and only tested it out and it was nice. And indeed it worked very well.

Samsung's beauty mode was the best, I've tried all the 3rd party apps in Play, they aren't as good and they're loaded with ads! Not only could beauty mode do skin smoothing, it also did face shape correction because the front cam was so wide it distorts your face.

Hi Guys,
I bought the unlocked S10 Plus from Samsung US and use it on Verizon. I don't seem to have an option of Night Mode or anything like that camera app. Am I missing something?
Also, does anyone know the trick to consistently prompt for the "Scan" feature when taking pictures of documents? It's so flaky that it probably works like 5 to 10% of the times...
Thanks!

Night Mode is meant to arrive to North American phones in a future update. Samsung is not telling us when, no estimated time frame. But it's meant to arrive for us eventually.
For scanning documents, I highly recommend this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intsig.camscanner&hl=en_US
It's served me very well.

Got it, thank you for the education bud. I know about the scan apps but the one baked in the camera is neat, but it rarely fires... ?
Any reason for the exclusion of night mode for the US?

Samsung probably used EU for testing purposes, so US customers will have a bug free experience
I use the scan feature all the time, in my experience the scan feature wools 95% of the time, sometimes I have to try a second time to get the whole document in as it only scans most of it. As long as you scene optimiser is set it should work. I am in the UK with an unlocked S10 and although I have the new night mode I still don't have May security patch. It appears Samsung are updating all phones with May update before the S10's which is their flagships.

Aren't the exynos camera sensors different to the snapdragon models? That's my hunch.
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
So I got the XZ1C recently, it's on Android 9, came like that out of the box. I think it was an ex display model from Russia.
The thing is, the camera seems absolutely awful. I've attached a picture I took of a simple grey carpet in OK light conditions. As you can see if you zoom in, there's loads of yellow and blue dots that appear on the picture. Most pictures also come out really noisy, making details a blur.
I have an XZ3 Compact here and it takes better pictures than this, and has never had the coloured dots issue. Is my XZ1C faulty, or is this normal?
Appreciate any help on this!
Oh and my bad for having 2 threads up. I just figured this was quite a different topic but if a mod wants to merge it with the other one that's fine :good:
Hm yeah something doesn't look right at all. How zoomed in is that photo? I just took an up close shot in medium lighting and this is how it came out. Granted I'm running LOS 16 but I think the stock camera should be just as good if not better.

It's not even zoomed in much. Here's a standard picture I just took. I've not got as good lighting, it's just with a dull light on but it's not exactly bad lighting.
When you zoom in slightly it's pretty easy to see the dots everywhere. A lot of my pictures are also immensely noisy, the detail is just completely lost on anything far away. It's like some sort of awful compression.
I tried messing around with some settings, It improved a little but it's still pretty bad. Even the pictures that come out better than my Z3C have the horrible dots everywhere.
Yours looks good though and more along the lines of what I'd expect from the Camera. What do you think it could be?

Have you looked in the service menu to see if the phone has been unlocked? An unlocked phone with no DRM would give you bad grainy pictures.
There's achance that it's been rooted and just had android 9 put back on it, which leaves the camera working, sort of.

I thought it might be that, but I'd be very surprised if it has been rooted. When I checked the service tests on 9, it said "Bootloader Unlock allowed: Yes", but I'm not sure how to see if it has actually been unlocked
I flashed an Oreo .ftf with Newflasher though, and my camera doesn't work on Oreo. The service menu here states rooting status is unknown and mentions nothing about the bootloader. I'm not sure if I just made a mistake somewhere though and that's why that's happened, It'd be very odd if it was rooted before
If you have Oreo installed, just flash DRM fix, if this gets the camera working properly then problem solved.

Yeah there's definitely something wrong. You'd know the bootloader was unlocked if when booting the device you get the screen this device cannot be trusted warning.
FWIW my device is rooted with no DRM keys and the photos are still coming out great. What I would do first is factory reset the device. If still no improvement, flash different Pie firmware using the flash tool, like Customized EU or Customized UK. Lastly see if the results vary with other camera apps.

Is this the fix? Unfortunately I'm not rooted, not sure I really want to do it just yet with Google updating SafetyNet to block people with unlocked bootloaders from apps.

Oh yeah I've not seen that screen, I assume it's still locked then. I tried 2 Oreo firmwares, one was a German one, the other a UK one. The camera worked on neither.
I then tried a Global one (couldn't find one on the latest version of Oreo so it was a few versions back) and the camera worked. The same issues are still present though, maybe a slight bit better. I'm pretty baffled by what it could be.

On one of the firmwares, I think it was a UK one, I updated manually through the phone to Pie. No improvements unfortunately. I may try another one just for testing sake, good idea.
I did find something interesting though. I was looking online and saw a techradar review of the XZ1C. I've attached a picture that they took with the camera. It has the same coloured dots issue I'm experiencing with the phone.
I also tested my Z3C some more. When I'm in camera mode and I zoom in, I can see a similar issue with coloured marks, but once I take the picture itself, the post processing fixes everything and I get a nice clean image. The post processing on my XZ1C doesn't seem to do the same. It's a much faster camera but doesn't seem as clean. I took a screen recording showing this, not sure if it'd really help if I uploaded it for you to see though.
Okay - I see what you mean but I don't think you'll get a better picture than that to be honest, the camera software is just not great at post-processing to begin with. It's great in medium to high lighting, but anything in low light comes out grainy. My images look about the same if I view them on a large screen and zoom in. I had vastly superior results running GCam on my Xperia X Compact but unfortunately GCam on the XZ1C is not possible currently, if at all.
Also, if you still want to try, there's bunch of firmware here to download:

Oh, so this is probably pretty normal for this phone then. I was worried my model was faulty honestly, I suppose it is a little relieving though disappointing to see. I flashed another Android 9 firmware, no difference. Thanks for all the help with this, appreciate the prompt responses and help!

No option that I know of in the stock camera app. Best bet would be to use a different camera app. I know Footej supports flipping the image.

Thanks, appreciate that! Seems bizarre that there isn't native support for it. Seems like a basic feature.
OK so I know how you add water mark to photos via edit picture etc but is there a way to add more different ones as I only see 1 that says Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra yet I've seen people's pictures with different types even picture of the back of the phone with shot on s21 ultra I don't see that one and I've seen other types with signature as well , can't see any extra ones in theme store etc , picture below is what I mean and only one I have to add , cheers

I was wondering that as my friend always sends photos from his Samsung with #tags watermarks. Jus had a quick search and it appears it is not a feature offered on the flagship devices, which seems strange to remove something from flagship.
