Yesterday, I managed to unlock my bootloader using PotatoNV and tried to install ProtonAOSP GSI:
Code:
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash system <gsi>.img
Note that I'm on EMUI 9.1.0.252 (C636E2R1P9) and my phone model is VTR-L29. Didn't try to root it or replace the recovery with TWRP. Anywho, I went to the recovery as soon as I flashed the GSI to factory reset it. Little did I know, I booted to eRecovery and factory reset it there. I thought it was "just okay" and proceeded to boot into the "real" recovery. I factory reset it once again and try booting my device into the GSI. I waited for it to boot and panicked once it starts bootlooping. I tried flashing different GSIs from phhuson and ponces (Pie, 10, 11 and 12) with the same commands and steps I used earlier. STILL BOOTLOOPING!
Any fixes? Cheers!
Nope sir
Btw I'm using Phh 412 GSi AOSP
I didn't face any bootloop
I just fastboot erase then flash system
After that I just factory reset on erecovery
I didn't face bootloop
Btw I'm on Emui 9.0

Help. I just bricked my Huawei P9 EVA-L09 by installing a Treble ROM. I rebranded, installed B540 Patch02 EMUI 8, installed the 2.6 network patch and the Magisk patch ramdisk. EMUI 8 booted fine. Then installed an OpenKirin Treble ROM (Lineage Beta 5) but it doesn't boot. It stays in a boot loop. No matter what, no matter how many times I do fastboot -w or wipe data/factory reset in TWRP, it just doesn't get out of the boot loop. Please help me. I've never asked for help to solve a soft brick before. I can boot into fastboot, eRecovery and TWRP.
Turns out OpenKirin AOSP ROMs break under B540 firmwares while TWRP is flashed to recovery_ramdisk. This is what I did:
Flashed the original B540 recovery and tried a factory reset. It failed at 24 percent but I rebooted to system anyway and OmniROM Pie finally booted.

You must not use TWRP for installing Open Kirin ROMs
They have installation instructions, linked from OP posts in the Open Kirin thread:

Oh my sweet lord, thank you!!!
I finally solved it thanks to your help.
I was running a custom ROM (Skydragon) earlier. I simply booted into TWRP, did the basic wipe then flashed the official zip file. Then after booting, its stuck on the boot animation for more than 20 minutes now. Any ideas how to resolve this?
I too faced the same issue. formating the data partition and flashing community beta build booted successfully for me. before you do this, completely back your phone contents to pc
You must flash with TWRP 3.2.3.0 or older!
i had the same issue. formated data had 3.3.0 twrp but still bootloop so i used unbrick tool to put my phone back to stock and then updated to last build though stock recovery and then unlocked bootloader, installed twrp, magisk and done.
here are the steps i performed
1. unlock via tool
2. flast twrp via fastboot
3. wipe flash pixel experience april 2020 build
4.stuck in bootloop format data.
5. reflash pixel experience
6 still bootloop
7. flash orange fox recovery zip
8. wipe everything except vendor and internal and otg
9 flash pixel experience and Fcrypt disabler.zip
10 reboot
now i am stuck in fastboot mode
everytime i boot into system/ recovery i am landed on fastboot mode

Best bet is to restore the phone and start again.
Flash the latest fastboot ROM for the phone, making sure that you change the flash option in the Mi Flash Tool, so you don't lock the bootloader.
Boot into MIUI once to finalise the installation. No need to do the initial setup.
Flash TWRP and boot into it.
Do a factory reset, followed by format data. Format not wipe, need to type yes to continue.
Reboot into TWRP to ensure the formatted data partition is properly mounted.
Flash PE, plus the extras you want.
Reboot to system and you should be good.
This is the best failsafe method when nothing else seems to work.
Hi Guys
I tried an update to Mirza's ROM but after it caused more issues, I tried restoring from full Orangefox backup in recovery; only to find the phone stuck at Fastboot mode. It appeared strange, so I tried it again to end up with same fate. I tried installing Xiaomi.EU ROM, but after installation it got into a boot loop alternating between Recovery logo and MIUI startup logo. I got into fastboot again and flashed TWRP trying the same, but without joy. Tried another recovery and multiple versions of Xioami.EU ROM all with same fate. Finally got hold of an old fastboot ROM from Xioami.EU and flashed with MiFlash tool and it flashed successfully without issues. Assuming all was well, I tried flashing ROM via recovery which either gets stuck at MIUI logo or recovery. Boot loader in unlocked and decrypted. I tried flashing SHRP recovery, Magisk, wiping data etc as well to rule out any issues, but the problems remain.
Any ideas as to what's happening?
If I understood right, recovery ofox is working.
So reboot to it
Format data with yes
Reboot ofox
Flash ROM
Flash magisk recommend
Format data again with yes
Reboot system and give time to boot, could be more than some minutes but I think not more than 20
For those who might face similar issues.
According to Orangefox website, 'note that you should not restore a backup of the persist image, unless it proves absolutely necessary'. I may have checked it in recovery during restoration which probably destroyed the partition.
Fix:Installed TWRP via flashboot, formatted all data(not wiped) and installed ROM then formatted again and it booted.
Hi,
I have C11 RMX2185, unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP and then some roms (pixel experience, next stock android 11, next CipherOS-2.0-KNIGHT)
everything worked fine and I was preparing to try some other ROMS
But now I am unable to enter TWRP (I was, I flashed roms with TWRP before)
In fastboot I do fastboot reboot recovery and TWRP started to load (blue TWRP logo), and it blink and logo, blink - logo,.... forever
I tried to flash boot.img, flash TWRP again, tried another release of TWRP for RMX2185, flashing vbmeta, format userdata, ..... all kind of posibilities without any error but stil unable to run TWRP
I can boot into system (CipherOS-2.0), I can do things in fastboot, when it loops in starting TWRP it is able to react to adb reboot
I run out of ideas.
Thanks in advance for some kicks in the back
