Finding one or two apps that i know are installed (can search in play store and they have "open" button which works) but are not showing up in app drawer even if i search
Literally one or two ... Anyone know how to refresh the appdrawer?

I apologize if this has all ready been asked. I did a search and nothing came up for the NC. This is my first Android device and I'm new here, take pitty
Anyway, I managed to download several apps from the Android Market but have no idea how to find/use them?
Did you install them, or just download them?
Did you install a launcher (ie. LauncherPro, ADW, etc)?
If you installed the apps, and you have a launcher, then they should be in your app drawer. You can get that by using the app drawer button on your launcher's home screen. Tapping the app drawer button should bring up all of your apps -- including both the market and stock nook apps.
I think I just downloaded the apps. You don't install them while in the market, right? If that's the case then I definitely just downloaded them. One of the apps I downloaded is a launcher that most everyone seems to like on this board, zeam I think it's called. Of course now I have no idea how to find it, or any of the other apps I got. Using it would be nice
Check your app drawer (the icon in the middle of the row of icon on your home screen). It is likely that, if you used the Android market, you installed the apps. That is the normal function when looking at market apps.
Cheers,
kev
Ok, I think I got it. I somehow managed to start zeam and I can access everything ells from there. Thanks for the help guys
Not sure if this is a symptom of Cyanogenmod nightly or something else, but I can no longer add new widgets. I have downloaded quite a few but they don't show up in the widget list when I go to add a new widget. All the default ones are there.
I know the widgets are installed because they show as installed in the application manager and market app. In the market app if I go to my downloads the app is listed as installed and if I click on it and then go "open" it opens the screen that says "this is a widget, please add it to your homescreen by long pressing the background" message that some widgets have.
But when I go to add them, they just dont appear in the list. It's the same with many different launchers. Any thoughts?
Some widgets will not show up in the list if they are installed on the SD card. If they're installed there, just move the apps to the phone.
Great. Solved the problem, thanks for that. Should have though of it myself I guess.
I'm guessing that Cyangoenmod defaults to installing to SD card because I never set that. I have switched it back to defaulting to internal memory now.
[Q] Random "Free Music" app appeared on my touchpad in place of Google Play Store
My Touchpad was charging today and I just went to check on it. I unlocked the device and sitting right where the Google Play Store app shortcut used to be on my homescreen was an app called "Free Music" and it had the old itunes icon. I accidentally clicked on it as I was trying to long press it and remove it from my homescreen. It launched the Google play store as if the real app shortcut was there. After I removed it from my homescreen I checked the app drawer and did not see the app.
I am running CM 9 Alpha 2. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there malware on my TP, or a Virus? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Me too
I havent checked my touchpad with CM9A2, but my Acer Iconia with CM9-ported had this appear too.
I did not have this 3/8 afternoon, and had my tablet off yesterday night 3/8, and turned it on today 3/9, and it appeared shortly after.
Very strange and suspicious to have an itunes logo-ed shortcut "self-install"
Hope some more people can shed some insight into this.
Are we android user's getting hacked/compromised? (beyond what Google is already sucking off our tablets)
Whew
Okay, at least someone else had this happen. Now we just need to figure out what it is. Did you notice anything else funky? I couldn't find anything else that was weird, however I noticed this weird chinese app all the way in the bottom of my "All" apps list and I have since disabled it out of caution. Let me know if you have this app.
Did you just remove the app from the homescreen or open it also like I did? I really can't think of any app I installed that could have done this except one. This "watch TV" app, that I also uninstalled since just in case. I hope someone can explain this to us.
I just removed it from the homescreen (luckily did not click it to open by accident)
I dont have any Chinese/Foreign language apps on my All Apps.
I also dont have that "Watch TV" app.

I got a response from the Iconia forum, and I found my Pin to Pintrest App that allowed push installs. Do you have the same app?
Interesting
I don't have that app, but it could have been a different app that had the same type of air install thing. I uninstalled a bunch of apps that I didn't use that much, one of them might have had this feature enabled. Ill download that detector and see if any app on my tablet has that.
Thanks
After successfully rooting my GT-i8190 via vroot, I changed the Chinese version of Superuser to Supersu with no problems. However, I noticed another Chinese app on my phone that I cannot get rid off. It appears to be a Chinese version of Google Play... I keep getting notifications on my phone telling me to update my apps and when I click on them, it takes me to the familiar 'installed apps' section of the Play Store - all in Chinese.
I've tried deleting the app itself from my apps menu by dragging it to the 'remove' trash bin but nothing happens... It stays in my apps. I also tried going into the normal Google Play Store and finding it under 'My Apps' there, but it doesn't appear.
Does anyone know anything about this app? I haven't found any info on it while searching the forums, just the Chinese Superuser app. Should I freeze the app?
Here are a couple screenshots of what I'm encountering:
Update: I should have tried this before, but it slipped my mind. I believe I have solved the issue. I went into application manager and forced the app to stop and waited to see if there were any issues. There were none. I uninstalled it from there and all seems to be well.
Yesterday at some point all of my apps (except two) disappeared from my app drawer. Now only the ones that i've downloaded or updated are shown. Although if I look at my apps through the edge app, I can still see they are all there. Does anyone know what the problem is?

P.S. Using Google Launcher if that helps.
I had this problem today. I tried multiple things....but it turned out to be my secure folder I had set up. I deleted my secure folder and all my apps showed up in the app drawer again. Read online that Knox and google now launcher aren't compatible for some reason.
