Question Question about 4G bands - Redmi 9 Power / 9T

Hello, I live in Brazil and here it is common for Xiaomi devices of Indian origin to be sold. I bought a Redmi 9Power which is Indian but I found that the Redmi 9T is the same device.
The Indian version that is the 9Power has some problems on the Brazilian 4G because of the bands it supports (1, 3, 5, 8, 40, 41), while the 9T supports bands that are most used around here (1, 2, 3 , 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41).
I would like to know if doing the firmware change already enables these bands I need, or if there is some hardware limitation that prevents this from being done. I intend to change the firmware of the 9Power for the 9T.
Thanks in advance.

Enable LTE band 28 on Mi 8

Hi,
I would like to enable LTE 28 band (700 MHz) on my Xiaomi Mi 8. Is this technically possible? How?
Thanks for your help.
I think it's not possible. Many users tried that on other phones without any success.
Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
Impossible, the Mi 8 do not have the 28 band
Oddly enough, the Mi 8 Lite genuine factory global version does have band 28 700mhz.
Beware because the CN versions have a different set of bands and no B28.

Tencent version vs global version

Thinking of grabbing the 12gb ram version. Any reason to get global over china version?
Global not out until late Sept but im waiting re band differences. great site https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/AU/asus-rog-phone-2
Some folks have said that bands 66 and 71 will be supported in the Intl version. I hope that’s correct.

Same here. If I cant use volte, that's a no go for me
It seem the 12gb ram Chinese Asus rog 2 have more bands than the 8gb ram one. Can anyone verify? Has the 12gb ram been release in China yet?

Here's the information for the two Chinese version. IMO the 5999 version is same as intl version except Chinese firmware.
GSM/GPRS/EDGE; WCDMA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+;TD-SCDMA; CDMA 2000;FDD-LTE; TD-LTE Same
LTE Cat13 UL up to 150Mbps / Cat16 DL up to 1.0Gbps vs LTE Cat18 UL up to 211Mbps / Cat18 DL up to 1.2Gbps
DC-HSPA+: UL 5.76Mbps / DL 42Mbps same
LTE DL 5CA same
Unknown vs Support 4x4 MIMO and CA w/ 4x4 MIMO
FDD-LTE band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 adding band 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 29, 32, 66
TD-LTE band 34, 38, 39, 40, 41 adding band 46
WCDMA band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 adding band 6, 19
TD-SCDMA band 34, 39 same
CDMA band BC0 same
EDGE/GPRS/GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz same
And the information on ASUS taiwan website shows that taiwan version have no TD-SCDMA nor CDMA 2000. Other are same with the Chinese 5999 vision.
Thanks. So band 66 but not 71. Ugh, that’s a shame with T-Mobile, especially with the Razer Phone covering band 66 and 71.
Edit: /facepalm. This phone can actually go on any carrier, so just have to see if any make sense.
So then is the 512gb tencent no good for Verizon? I tried Razer 2 but they said even if it has the bands to work on Verizon, they may have deleted support to get ready for 5g. Had to send the Razer back and I really want the rog 2 but I'm tired of losing signal with att where I live so I'd really like to get the correct model, if any that support verizon
I'm on T-Mobile as well, so I definitely need to know if this device supports volte in the states
I contacted Asus North America to ask if the version we get will include bands 66 and 71. I mentioned how it would be a huge selling factor for those of us on T-mobile. They responded that that would forward it to the product team.

They'd be stupid not to. Unless they like losing money. I know if it doesn't support those bands, it's not even a question anymore, I won't be getting it

Same. Where I'm at, 66 and 71 are crucial for me.
Tencent chinese version does not include EU/US bands..

Thanks.

Even on Alieezpress is couple of version. Some described as global but in spec is not band 20
So confused now. Is anybody got 128Gb from alieezpress with Band 20 pls.

Official 128GB Asus Rog phone 2 does not come with band 20. Only band 18. If you want band 20 you have to buy the 512GB one.
If you mean band support for tencent version 128GB then it won't support band 20. But there is a global 128GB version for international countries that one has band 20.
You can see picture bellow.
On spec is six prism box.
This means this one should be with Band 20??

The Strix edition comes in the prism box too, so that Aliexpress item would most likely be that looking at the price. I've seen conflicting reports from different shops of whether the strix edition supports band 20, but on the ASUS eshop it's not listed so it most likely won't have it unfortunately.
I bought my 128gig from Asus direct. Came in prism box. Assumed it covered all bands, perhaps it doesn't then, which is why my 4g at work is no good?
Is there any way to confirm?
Website says
FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 29, 32, 66)
TD-LTE (Bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 46)
So guess I'm good

On the Swedish Asus eshop it says:
FDD-LTE (band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 28)
TD-LTE (band 34, 38, 39, 40, 41)
So I have no idea what's accurate. I sent them a message about it, but haven't heard back yet.
If you're rooted you can use the Network signal guru app to check what bands the hardware supports. I'm not aware of any way to check this without root though. Maybe it's listed on the box?
You can install app "Net monster" and check what band is connected actually.

I've not seen me connected to band 20 yet, I'll have to keep any eye out
Depends what network are You using. UK??
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
Sorry, I'm UK on vodafone
I'm UK Vodafone as well. Already returned Tencent version because everwhere outside big towns Vodafone using only 800 MHz. Over 90% of time was only H+
With this app "Netmonster" outside the city You can check band 20 (800)
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
Today I noticed I was on band 7 when out and about.
I need to check at work outside what band it is, but I can't get it inside the building. My old phone and everyone else gets 4g, I get H+
So wird. Looks like Your phone don't have B20 what in Vodafone is nightmare. In phone with B20 LTE coverage is on about 99% places even inside buildings. Definitely You need contact with Asus to find what's going on. Direct from Asus should be full working in all UK networks.
On back of phone You got Tencent Games or Republic of Gamers??
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
Republic of gamers.
The building I'm in isn't great for 4g, only Vodafone and O2 work in here. You'd think EE would, but it doesn't.
But based in the fact other people on vodafone do, and my old Sony did, I would have thought mine would!
I just put it down to they spent too much time on making the WiFi good, they forgot 4g!
Thought about getting a new SIM card, as read that can help?
---------- Post added at 09:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 AM ----------
Just went outside, 4g+ band 1 - towers right by us.
Inside H+ on a tower much further away!?
Doesn't make sense

Redmi Note 9 LTE Problem

Someone can confirm to me what frequency bands the redmi note 9 (m2003j15ss) supports? My carrier on my country, technically, works on some bands of LTE B7 (2600MHz), B3 (1800MHz) and B28 (700MHz APT). I read that the redmi note 9 supports those bands, so why I'm not getting any lte signal? Someone having this kind of problem too?

Question LTE band support when running .eu firmware

So I am in the USA and I need to get the Chinese hardware variant for best band support, the global is missing a band or two. I just wanted to confirm with users here that if I unlock the phone and change over to the MIUI.eu firmware that it won't change the modem firmware and I keep all the Chinese firmware LTE bands?
I know the Chinese one allows English language just fine and I could use it if I have to, I've done it before on an older Xiaomi phone, but I'd rather run .eu and not have all the junk Chinese apps I don't want on the phone.
Thanks
It is the opposite, the Chinese model misses bands, not the global

4G bands1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 28, 32, 38, 40, 41, 42, 66 - International1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42 - China
With 5G it is the opposite, International/global is the way to go and has much more band coverage. But I don't have 5G where I am yet so it doesn't matter to me. By the time it does in a couple years Ill be getting a new phone at the time anyway.
Global also doesn't pass Safetynet so I don't want it.
Yes I was talking about 5g
