Hey folks
That common issue of not getting volte in India
Mine is XQ-AT51 and need to flash to AT52
but concerned about data loss and unclear about the steps to follow
Will it be okay to do flashing in a M1 mac with windows in parallels
Thnks

Hi,
Really couple of quick questions... I have read the tutorials on flashing stock firmwares, I have got all the software downloaded (Xperifirm and Flashtool). I just want to debrand my phone (i.e. no O2 apps and no O2 boot screen).
I have picked out the Customized UK Unbranded firmware 23.0..1.A.5.77.
My current firmware is O2 Pay monthly UK 23.0.1.A.5.77
Does anyone see any forseeable issues with what I am about to do? First time flasher of Xperia phones - I have been a Samsung shill for far too long!
Kind Regards,
Neil

Hi,
I've also got the phone on O2 pay monthly and considering flashing the generic UK firmware. Did you use the links on the firmware thread to obtain the UK one? The links seemed to not work when I tried to download.
Have you read about creating your own flashtool file (ftf) for the current firmware? I would advise you to do so before getting rid of the O2 firmware as a backup ftf. You can repair the phone using the Sony PC companion and that would download the necessary files to create the ftf.
I have used couple of Xperias before and have always used flashtool to flash different firmware many times. The consensus regarding warranty and flashing seems that you do not loose the warranty in doing so and I have hoped it is so in flashing the other Xperias.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this was not a successful attempt. I got the firmware using the app Xperifirm and decrypted it and created the flashing files in Flashtool as per instructions in another thread. I could not get the drivers to work correctly for Flashtool to function correctly however. Once I got to the flashing stage and Flashtool asked me to power down the device, I would then hold down the Vol - button whilst putting in the micro USB cable and it would fail instantly, first saying the driver was not installed and then after a lot of fiddling that the loader.sin would not install and again fail straight away. After a couple of hours of messing around I gave up.

Am I right in thinking that you downloaded this firmware when you posted about it back in 2015? If you did and you still have it would you be able to send me a copy? It seems to be unobtainable now from the internet.
Kind regards
Simon
Do I need us oem files if I don't need volte and wifi calling?
I have the customized UK with us OEM files. I don't have or need for volte and wifi calling. I want to switch to full customized UK will I really lose anything? How can I do it without losing data? Just flash using newflash tool?
Thanks

This subject has been covered several times in other parts threads. Use Xperiafirm to download the latest firmware. I would recommend the new German customised, as the latest firmware isn't available for the UK. I never understood the preoccupation of US users having to use the UK version, when any version from EU will work.
Download newflasher and put it in the same folder as your firmware. Delete userdata. sin. Start newflasher, follow instructions. You will end up with a fingerprint enabled, 4G phone. With all your original data.

Thank you very much for your information. I tried searching and looking through different threads before posting. I guess I didn't get the right key word.
I am guessing from reading the other thread that, If you are on the T-Mobile US/MetroPCS network you will not have band 12(700Mhz) LTE VoLTE calling if you do not install the OEM file. This negatively affect cellular coverage in buildings and outside of cities.
Good evening,
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Note 9 (unlocked) from Three UK, and for various reasons I'd like to remove the carrier firmware and switch to the factory Samsung software (I've noticed several bugs and slowdowns and want to rule out the branded firmware).
I don't have access to a PC so i'm hoping I can do this with JOdin3 on my Mac.
My phone is version N960FXXU2CRLT
Can anyone help me with the correct unbranded files for the UK, and whether this is still possible to do on Mac?

Thanks. Does it matter that the phone version is different?
(Mine ends CRLT)
I assume that once done, I'll be able to update OTA as normal?
Hi guys. I bought an unlocked Sprint LG V40 (V405UA). I am from Argentina and it works perfect in my country with my SIM card, but the problem is that it has the Sprint firmware and it is in Android 8.1 and it won't update if i am not with Sprint contract i think. I'd like to have the stock global firmware and get OTA updates (Android pie at least). I see a page called "lg-firmwares.com" with all models firmwares and tutorials, but i am noob in this matter and i don't want to "brick" my phone or lose the unlocked condition. If i follow the "lg-firmwares.com" tutorial and flash the Android pie firmware for my model, can i brick my phone or lock it again? or it is secure and everythink will be ok?
Thanks.

Okay you have 3 ways to do this.
1st. If rooted/Unlocked Bootloader: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/guide-crossflash-unlocked-pie-to-t3944359
2nd If rooted/Unlocked Bootloader: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/guide-make-lg-v40-compatible-lgup-t3953120
3rd I personally haven't tried this yet: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/development/lg-1-16-t3967559
With the 3rd one you should just simply be able to flash any KDZ but you should make sure it's compatible first.
But once you Crossflash no more OTA's you would have to download NEW KDZ and flash it over the one your on.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/guide-lgup-root-t3967858 This Guide i made should help you with your 3rd question. That we have seen no you shouldn't loose Sim unlock if it's factory unlocked or if you carrier unlocked it for you after so many months being active with them. You always loose your data when KDZ flashing. You wont get OTA updates if you Crossflash...if you stay with your current rom OTA's should be possible
If you're using a us carrier phone outside of the us, you should just forget about ota. It won't work. Do yourself a favor and learn about the various flash methods. You're gonna need one of them at least to keep it updated.
Thanks guys. It sucks that it's imposible for me to get OTA updates, but at least i can try flashing my phone to keep it updated. I will check the guide and learn more about it then. Anyways i think this is an amazing phone and a bargain for the price nowadays..
I have android pie

Hi
I've been trying to flash the US Custom firmware on the XQ-AT52,
I used the method with NewFlash, but it ended up being corrupted.
I've tried the method [GUIDE] Flashing a different customization on the XQ-AT51, but it doesn't let me select the 51 version.
Has anyone been successful in flashing the AT52 to AT51?
