set warranty bit kernel >> please i ned fix this problem - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed custom ROM
I face this problem when I restart or turn off the phone
Is there a solution to this message set warranty bit kernel??

No.

" It just means that the warranty is void because of the custom recovery and/or firmware.
It also warns potential buyers that the phone's firmware was modified. "

As long as the device is booting and working correctly, you're good

I have this same problem with my sm-j727p when I install TWRP and magisk. it was also bootlooping

[Q] [LB] CM11 install error, CM10.2 no boot; XZDualRecoverzy

Hi,
before I go any further: I have a locked bootloader and I'd prefer to keep it that way (company policy).
What I have: A C5503 phone with 310-GLOBAL-LTE firmware, XZDualRecovery 2.7.85-BETA.
What I do: Flash 310 FTF with FlashTool, then run install.sh in XZD asking it to root the phone for me. After reboot I get the CWM PhilZ recovery screen and after yet another reboot the system starts normally having the NDR app installed - it crashes sometimes though, so far unreproducibly.
Next steps were tried using all recovery options (CWM, TWRP, PhilZ) with full pre- and post- wipes, zips on internal storage.
When installing CM10.2.1 (latest stable) I get no errors but the phone won't even start normally (i.e. not even the SONY logo, just a short vibe, black screen). Fastboot and Flashmode both work, recovery does not.
When installing CM11 (140210) I get an installation error saying (roughly) "some error occured". It doesn't fit on the display but there is no useful information in it anyway. I'll copy it here if needed. After this I get the SONY logo bootloop with only fastboot and flashmode available, recoveries lost as well.
Q1: Is it even possible to install CMx with locked bootloader? I can't see why not as long as I keep the stock kernel..
Q2: Is it me or are there bugs in CM builds? How can I debug better?
thanks,
-mikky

1st: U can't. Actually it isn't necessary to unlock bootloader to install custom rom (e.g: custom stock based rom). However, the vital requirement to install CM rom is that u must have an unlocked bootloader because u need to install the custom kernel as well.
2nd:CM builds sure have some bug. You can debug it depending on how u customize the rom.

Interesting. Do you have any sources for that? I've been googling around and even though the custom kernel is part of the CM flash zip there is no information (to my knowledge), that CM cannot run on other kernels. On the other hand, there is no information it can....
Then it's up to u whether u want to believe it or not. Take it or leave it.

It can run on other kernel with a condition that kernel is compatible with the rom. In your case, the stock kernel isn't compatible with the rom. If u r smart, then u can customize the kernel to make it compatible with the CM rom. Finger crossed.
Even if you can install the rom using the stock kernel, there will be high probability that many bugs will appear and you might brick your device sooner or later. There is a way actually to make it working on stock kernel by porting the rom. You can try it though. Happy goggling.

[How to]: going from China ROM to a working, rooted international ROM (2016/06/20)

Hey guys,
I recently purchased a Mi5 in China and had a hellish experience trying to get a working rooted international ROM on it even though I am definitely not a noob at android. I found out that most issues I had were result of small/stupid mistakes that can be easily avoided with the proper knowledge, so I decided to write a super quick how to on the process for anyone that might need it in the future. There are similar guides out there, and I will refer to some (all credit goes to original posters) but I found that most are incomplete/not updated/plain wrong. Please also note that this guide is updated to June 20th, newer ROM versions might require different steps.
This how to assumes you are familiar with the standard ROM flashing process, in case anyone needs a more detailed explaination of some of the steps, you can reply or search XDA elsewhere, most of the stuff has been mentioned here and there before.
1. Check that your hardware is ok (dial *#*#64663#*#* in dialer, you will enter hardware test mode, check every single item carefully)
2. Request a bootloader unlock from Xiaomi, unlock the bootloader: follow instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/unlocking-xiaomi-mi-5-bootloader-t3336243
3. Now that Your bootloader is unlocked, you have 3 main options for working ROMs: Xiaomi's Global Stable, Xiaomi's Global Dev, Xiaomi.eu's unofficial Stable. If you want to play it safe, I suggest to go with the Xiaomi's Global Stable, otherwise choose Xiaomi.eu's unofficial Stable. I did not test extensively all three, so this is just a general recommendation.
4. In any case, you will need to use the official Xiaomi's flashing tool (Miflash) to do your first ROM flash. Just follow the process here: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html and you'll have flashed your new ROM. In case you want to flash Xiaomi.eu's unofficial Stable, follow the same process but get the flashable ROM here: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/xiaomi-eu-multilang-rom-for-xiaomi-mi5-unlocked-bl-only-released.31231/
5. Boot into your newly flashed ROM, check once again that hardware is ok (see step 1.). Please also see step 10b for a tidbit of additional info if You're in China.
6. Reboot into bootloader, boot (only boot, no need to install) TWRP, which you can find here as part of Xiaomi.eu's thread above in step 4. inside a zip packaged with a modded bootloader image. do NOT install the modded bootloader image. Also, this is the only version of TWRP that I found working for my device. There are a couple more versions from chinese developers (cofface, ganfan), but booting either resulted in blank screen.
7. Once you are in TWRP, the recovery will ask you for a decryption password, just press cancel, then "Swipe to allow modifications"
8. Sideload (you cannot install from internal storage since you will not be able to access it at the moment) the latest SuperSU stable, which you can find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053. Please note that you WILL need the latest version, anything earlier might just get you a bootloop. And please do NOT format /Data to make it accessible to TWRP as that will also likely result in bootloop. Just sideload whatever you need.
9. Do NOT wipe Dalvik or Cache, reboot into System.
10. Congrats, You're done. Have a beer/coffee/tea and pat yourself on the back.
10b. In case You're in China, and this is Your first Android 5.0+ ROM, you will happen into a "bug" (it's not really a bug, but a result of China's Great Firewall), where whenever you connect to a Wifi, the phone will think you have no internet access and that will cause a whole host of issues (won't reconnect automatically, will try to default to 4G etc.). If so, just enable ADB Debugging and type adb shell "settings put global captive_portal_server httpstat.us/204" . That will mostly solve it (you might still get some weird result with some APs, but toggling Wifi should solve the problem for that AP forever.

After it says booting, does the screen light up? If so please check wether "adb devices" and "fastboot devices" return anything. If adb returns "recovery" or if both return empty, you're likely bumping into my same issue where the recovery won't boot (to me this happened regardless of whether I flashed or booted it). Are you using the specific recovery version from my point 6?

no, nothing happens on the screen, it stays in fb mode without any reaction. adb and fb devices doesn't return any device connected.. if i do an fb reboot it told me "waiting for any device" so the only option to get it run again is to power off.. yes of course, it's the recovery.img with the modified boot.img..

i want only to inform you, i get it to work.. the problem was my rom, miui 8.. for miui 8 you will need a new version of twrp, which you can download here: https://yadi.sk/d/oj6Z-0u7sXdw6 after that, i was able to boot to the twrp recovery without flashing it, so i keept everything original like it was and was able to sideload the supersu and get root without to format my data.. when you start the recovery it came in chinese, but when you click on the right button you can choose your language.. that's it.. thank you for you support dude!!
Is it only way to switch from chinese ROM to official global ROM to have unlocked bootloader? If it is, is there any other way of unlocking it, waiting 15 days to get permission seems ridiculous.
Lovely step by step guide. But, any idea if it will wipe the user data and/or internal sdcard when moving from the chinese to international version?

Can't Set Lock Screen After Custom ROM- (Fingerprint Sensor Also)

I unlocked the bootloader using fastboot.
Then i erased previous recovery.
Flashed TWRP.
Rebooted System.
Rebooted Recovery.
Installed Custom ROM (RR & ViperOS even AOSPEx)
After that i can't set lockscreen.
Tried installing fingerSecurity App. It says no fingerprint sensor.
Settings crash as i try to register pattern , pin or password.
I went back to complete stock and then did same process over and over with every ROM but none worked. While i'm on stock both finger and lockscreem works perfectly.
my device is xt1771.
Tried following alot of tutorials online which made me delete alot of internal files on data partition related to lockscreen but none worked.
I would be really thankful for your assistance.

Something funny happened. After SP Flash Tool flashing thing i got unknown baseband error(unknown nvram) issue. tried solving it for hours but couldn't achieve much because the tutorial on moto e4 plus is damn difficult to follow. i thought let's just install custom rom and see what happens. The unknown baseband and fingerprint issue both got away. But after a reboot i got the issue back. now i'm trying to write imei using mkt tools. let's see where it gets me. Thanks for helping buddy.

Bootloop with no recovery or fastboot options

Not sure what I did but I am now stuck in a bootloop where it reboots every 10 seconds or so but I can't get into recovery or get to fastboot no matter how I press and hold the Power and up or down volume buttons? Is there any way out of this? I left the phone overnight and the battery wasted but as soon as I plugged it into the USB on my laptop again it went back to the bootloop.
So, just wondering is there a special sequence of buttons to press on the device, that I don't know of, when this happens?
Thanks
Did you flash anything?
Yes, I had switched from MIUI to PixelExperience (and I had unlocked the bootloader etc to do this) but I believe I did something wrong in the process and both my IMEI (which were still reported correctly) were not working - I thought this might be some firmware issue so I had flashed an update firmware but that did not help. So I went and flashed the Engineering ROM to see would that help resetting the device.
But that didn't help and I had lost TWRP so I refreshed TWRP and at that point it went into the bootloop. What I don't understand is why I can't get back to fastboot - I can understand maybe something went wrong with the version of TWRP I flashed (though I am pretty sure it was the same one I flashed originally when playing around with the PixelExperience ROM.
Anyway, just wondering if there was some other mechanism to trigger either the fast boot or some recovery as its like the boot loader fail to find anything appropriate to boot up from.

Because you compromissed the boot process.
When your device try to boot, it make some checks first.
You need to flash the stock MIUI rom again.

If you have have adb drivers installed in your pc, try connecting your phone and open power shell. Then try this command.
Code:
adb devices
If it shows the device, then simply command
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
and flash the fastboot rom.
If not works, then follow VD171.
Also you should read threads carefully before flashing anything. Like there a tread about pixelplus UI. And they recommend to force reboot when you see the boot logo. To avoid boot loop.
Good luck

Don't flash pixel experience. It's unofficial and it's and old version. I recommend you to flash pixel extended after solving and flashing latest fastboot rom. It's official and provide update every month. This rom is also a pure aosp based Stock rom.

Question [Updated] This is ENG binary Please Use USER binary after stock flash with Odin

New update to topic:
I decided to repair the software of my Galaxy S21 (Exynos) by flashing official firmware from Samfirmware, same version as I was running. It was in a bootloop before, so there was nothing esle to do. Phone was rooted with magisk, stock recovery.
I found what my firmware is from the recovery, found the exact same file, with the correct CSC.
Downloaded that firmware from Samfirmware, downloaded patched Odin from XDA.
Added, flashed, used HOME_CSC in order to preserve my data.
Reboot and immediately before I even get the boot logo or the charging animation, I get this error:
This is ENG binary Please Use USER binary
Allegedly this is what happens when you flash an engineering build, not an official one. But how? I downloaded and flashed official stuff? It's the exact same version my phone is already running. Where did I go wrong and how can I fix that?
I've attached the Download screen of my phone.
Thanks!
Old news:
Hello,
Hope this is the right place to ask for this kind of help.
I have a Galaxy S21 5G (SM-G991B), rooted with Magisk back in March 2021. Phone is bootloader unlocked, not encrypted, but the recovery is stock. Version currently running is Android 11. USB Debugging is enabled, but my computer is listed as unauthorised.
Yesterday my phone died due to low battery, so I plugged it and after it charged a bit I switched it on, only to be greeted with a constant bootloop. The bootloop is "soft", meaning only the system crashes, it doesn't go all the way to the initial boot screen (as if the battery was unplugged). The phone crashes about 1-2 seconds after the initial lockscreen is displayed.
Is there any way to help me recover this and save my phone? My entire life is there, from photos that can't be recovered, to authenticators I need for work and bank logins I need to be able to pay rent.
I thought about flashing TWRP and just doing a backup from there, but would it be as simple as that? All the tutorials talk about requiring to flash some extra zips and wiping the data, but those tutorials are combo root+twrp tutorials, and I've already done those steps. so no wiping should be needed to put TWRP on?
I'd be very grateful if anyone is profficient enough to help me recover the data, I already gave the phone to a data recovery company but they say it's unlikely anything will come out of it. If you manage to help me get my phone working as it was (or at least get my data back somehow), I'd gladly pay you the money for your efforts.
Help me XDA, you're my only hope.

Flashing TWRP = having to delete data (to be able to access the internal storage)
I am pretty sure (wait for confirmation before doing it) that if you flash the HOME_CSC file instead of the CSC on Odin it keeps your data.
This is why we need to vote with our wallets and buy phones with sd cards. I dont really care, because I never keep anything important on my phone, but I feel for you buddy.
EDIT: from here: https://www.droidviews.com/difference-between-csc-and-home_csc-samsung-firmware/
CSC – If you flash the CSC file, it’ll perform a factory reset of your Galaxy device and wipe all data while installing a new firmware to bring your device to the same state as it was when you purchased it. Go with CSC if you want a clean installation.
HOME_CSC – On the other hand, if you want to keep your Samsung phone’s data and settings even flashing the stock firmware, you can select the HOME_CSC file.
At your own risk, pls dont blame me if it doesnt work!

Hi, what do you mean? Flash both TWRP and vbmeta, as if I'm doing it for the first time?
I think the phone was already decrypted while following the Magisk root tutorial, so these two steps should be the only thing necessary for the phone to boot to TWRP, right? I know how to rescue everything once I'm in there.

The phone auto-enters safe mode after a few bootloops, so I guess that's beat. When the phone is in stock recovery, doing any adb commands tells me the device is recognized, but "unauthorized".

Alright, decided to flash stock firmware with Odin. Found my files from Samfirmware, and since I want to keep my data, flashed HOME_CSC. Now the phone won't boot at all, giving the error:
This is ENG binary, please use USER
Now why did this happen and can I do anything to change that? I would really like to not flash CSC and wipe my phone, but it's looking more and more likely.
I used the patched 3.14.1 Odin, could that be the issue? Shouldn't matter.
