Kirisakura For Professional Gaming - ASUS ROG Phone 3 Questions & Answers

Should I use kirisakura kernel for playing PUBG Mobile, COD Mobile and games like that? Will it improve performance or decrease it? Every frame rate matters in these games.

i know this question might sound lame but the answer would make me much more comfortable with my device...
so according to your personal experience, what "cpu heavy" games are working on the 4x hd??
games like asphalt 7, nova3, dungeon defenders 3...this sort of thing
and is modern combat 4 working?
Thank you
All of the above said games work flawlessly with our 4x. Only thing, is that i use SETCPU and set my governor to Performance whenever i play games. With stock interactive governor i notice some hiccups.

I have another question...or two, i did put these on another thread but no one replied
1.im on v10D and when i use setcpu, the frequency automatically drops to 1000mhz after a couple of minutes...
2.when playing heavy games, most of the time its only 1 or 2 cores working at 100%

How has your experience been with 3D Performance & Emulators?

For those of you that already have your handsets, how has your experience been with the performance of 3D games and more intensive emulators? Have there been any games that have shown noticeable choppiness or sluggishness?
Edit: I read in another thread that Real Racing is giving Snapdragon owners problems. Also - I'm a bit curious as to how PPSSPP is treating people.
I have no issues running epsxe with open gl and all setting at maximum. Playing ff9 atm. Emulators shouldn't be an issue.
I just play Asphalt 8 on my Note 4 Exynos and it gets around 60fps at max settings.
I try few 3D games in my Exynos N910C include Real Racing 3 and Death Trigger 2. So far so great. No issue.

Could you post gamebench prints of the performance on some games?
Another gamebench video (exynos)
My device is finally here and it performs great (Exynos - C version)! But it gets warm (just warm no hot) fast and the throttle is very strong!! My Antutu after playing minion rush for 10 minutes was 35k and after a lot of gaming my GFX T-rex on-screen was 8 and off screen was 16. With the phone unused I got 25 and 37 fps for each of them. It is hot here (28C = 82F) but this throttle is too powerful! I'd rather have the phone getting hotter with better performance. Don't know if that would be possible.
The Galaxy Note 4 has a terrible 3d performance, i imagine it is because it is rendering at 1440, my HTC One M7 did far better at 1080. A few games that are jittery messes are anything GTA and also Gangstar, not impressed at all. Perhaps somebody will hack it so that it renders at a lower resolution, because really the snapdragon 805 is not up to intense 3d games at native resolution.
I have better gaming experience in Asphalt 8 with the Note 4 Exynos+1440p than with my Note 3 Qualcomm+1080p.

I'm using NOMone Resolution Changer to set display to 1080p to play games. When you change the resolution everything looks wrong (big icons and etc) but the games are actually perfect but less pixels to push so better performance. If you are rooted and mind gaming performance, this is a must have.
Just curious - since this is the one thing that might make me change my mind about not rooting my phone - Does NOMone Resolution Changer know to automatically change the resolution only when a game is specifically opened? Or do you need to change the resolution first - and then start the game?
For the guy saying that GTA is stuttery.. its nothing to do with the resolution. Its all to do with heat and the Samsung DVFS voltage and frequency control.
With DVFS enabled after a few mins of GTA it slows down a little bit and starts to get stuttery because it throttles too easy and underclocks the CPU and GPU by about half.
If your rooted and disable DVFS you get the full GPU and CPU speed in games like GTA vice city and its extremely fluid.

Second option unfortunately. If you find an application that does that, please tell me. I didn't look for it though as NOMone is working great and I'm a bit afraid of messing with the resolution too much.
Just got myself an exynos note 4. Very nice phone but aside from a little touchwiz stutter, games such as real racing 3 and clash of clans stutter. My nexus 4 ran them fine. Did a quick antutu benchmark to see whats up and this is what i got without flight mode on. What do you think? Benchmarks say my phone should handle them with ease but thats not the case. Anyone with a solution?

Mine can just run them fine. Try a factory reset.

Factory reset on a brand new phone that just got set up?

Probably some rogue app you got running. Reset like he said or restart. No stutter on this old games so no fix required. Emulators have been good tho getting over 30fps in a few n64 games mupen64 that have tried, dolphin still not the best speed. DraStic was made for the note line. Runs awesome with each game I have.
Has to be coc related. I read a few reviews on the play store from note 4 users who have seen this as well. Much more demanding games are running great so ill just wait on an update.

To be honest no. As is the phone runs preety hot under load playing pubg and the main problem is thermal throttling. OC would make the situation worse my suggestion if you want to play pubg on this device that bad take a dry ice bag and put it directly on the fingerprint senor while playing (Y)

Best rom and kernel for pubg and fortnite

I am a competitive player and my games lags a lot in competitive matches so what will be the best rom and or kernel which will also support screen recording with internal audio
Hi there. I'm using Miroom and candy kernel, i do not play pubg, i play COD mobile and do not have any lags, or at least i do not notice. Screen recorder with internal audio is working.
if you REALLY need pure performance, stock miui with quax kernel from abhishek is the option. more than 500k in antutu
Rom: Global Stabil
Kernel: Candy
This duo is myth friend.

I'm using eu.miui 11.0.8 with candy kernel and f2fs and this setup equals to 490 000 antutu.
In pubg the rendering lag is almost non existent now, game loads in at 55-56 seconds and is very smooth. I was using 72hz but got some ghost touches since pubg is limited to 60fps overclocking screen is unnecessary.
To add miui also gives you the option for the highest touch sampling rate in game booster, a option missing on custom roms.

Question Disappointed / Laggy performance in Pubg

Hello everyone,
I've upgraded from OnePlus 7 pro to Mi 11 ultra thinking about it's great specs but even with SD888 i can sense a lag in the game, it's unable to handle Pubg, game lags,
I've tried from smooth to UHD with extreme refresh rate, in OnePlus 7 pro with SD855 i was able to play HD with extreme refresh with no problem.
Anyone knows how to fix it? What is your review on gaming?

My experience in gaming Mobile legends is amazing, I keep going with UHD max graphics and performance and my device handle to beat at least 94% of others, imagine if I drop refresh rate and graphics a little bit.
a quick question, how many games and hours you played on pubg with the device?
for me, the first 2 times I played mobile legends the phone was overheating and device was lagging little bit. but after that, battery is way better, never over heats, and amazing performance. so basically, it is just learning the device power consumption.
in summary, be patient and it will be way better in a day or 2.
may I ask which rom version you doing? hope not .Eu!!
forgot to mention, everytime I factory reset device I face same issue. so it is a thing that you should not worry about. just machine learning.

Hope not eu? Why this?
My eu stable version never lags at all.

If it was Eu, then all I said above does not apply to him. As the experience I shared was of stock rom. And I had bad experience with EU rom specially gaming and ram management. I totally agree with you that it never lags and sooooooo smooth, but other things are also important.
Thank you @hassanaliyeh , I'm on global miui 12.5.2.0 , I don't play games a lot, it was just for a hour. I'll try it again today.
I tried some GFX fix tools but it didn't worked.

No worries, you do not have any issues then, just give it a few hours and days.
Enjoy
