Hello!
I just recently got my OnePlus 10 (exchanged for S22U) and couldn't find any answer to it:
If I choose number or dot for notifications, it will only appear a dot and if I choose only number, no notification will appear on the app icon at all.
Nova Launcher is unusable, and I don't want only dot on the icon. For my workflow, I need to see the number on the icon.
Can you help me please?

No problems using Nova prime launcher with android 12!

I'm on nova prime with gestures. No problem at all.

I works just fine for me. Did you try to re-install perhaps? And make sure permissions are ok?
i have no issues using nova
Nova Prime all working normal

its a bug reported from months in all phones under A12....change launcher makes glitches with native gestures.the only solution is to be root and flash quick swich or a modded launcher frrom magisk

When I switch between home and recents, especially when closing an app or moving from one app to the homescreen, you get a little pop up of the most recent recent app flash up, it's not the end of the world but it's annoying.
I'm using lawn chair but noticed the same with pixel rootless, not sure what other launchers exhibit this issue, maybe it's just oos11 being a bit crap

Thanks for letting us know. I also have the OnePlus 3 and I'm waiting to see if development will crank up on this phone. Battery life is awesome!!

Settings -> apps -> at the end of the window "default apps" -> launcher and select the default launcher
Just an FYI -
There are quite a few launchers you can try to see which one works best for you. Here's a couple other ones I've tried:
Nova Launcher
Action Launcher
Some of them have some nice/extra features with folders and theme settings (some parts required paid app). I'm currently running the HTC launcher (had to install several APKs). Lacks some of the newer features but looks better than EMUI.

Need to have Google app installed
For anyone that's having crash when choosing wallpaper, you just have to install Google's wallpaper app. It works without the pixel launcher too and has some beautiful wallpapers!

I have found the Pixel launcher to be buggy. I'm all in on Nova Launcher. Custom icons, layout, tweaks, etc.
I really love this laucher. No problems whatsoever. Clean and simple.
If you want to use Google cards (swiping right from homescreen) install it as system app.

I have Google app installed and swiping right to Google Now does not work. Works fine in the regular Google launcher but not the Pixel launcher. Any other things that need to be done?

I haven't done anything else, just installed it as system app. If it is not system app, then cards will not work.

And Google Cards (swipe from left) don't work unless your phone is rooted and did install as system app

So I have managed to install SR4 and get Xposed/Gravity Box going. I have installed the AndroidN-ify Module and get Google Assistant going and have installed Pixel Launcher. Only problem is that the long press on icons does not pop up the menus. Now is this something that is only part of N or is it part of the Launcher? Also Google Now Cards do not pop up when I swipe home screen.

I believe it's system integration, nova however have it included as you can see in my screenshot. Did you download the apk or flash it? I found flashing the launcher gave me the swipe to Google.

Hmm maybe try and flash it. Dilemma is I like both the swipe and the long press. So it would seem that I have a choice to make. Oh and how do you enable the long press function in Nova?
I am having trouble getting Google Assistant unlock the screen but if screen is on it works fine.

Just like official n not all apps support it yet. XDA labs recently updated to support it. Even the usual Google apps still haven't implemented it

Yes I have Nova Beta, Nova Prime as well and XDA Labs. But when I press on icons do not get mini menus.

How did you guys get the new google pixel persistent search bar uptop on nova launcher? I thought that was a pixel launcher exclusive? Also, if you have the widget, can you change it to display weather rather than just the date like on the pixel?

I have installed the new android 10 FW on my s10.
I tried to use an alternative launcher (Microsoft Launcher) but the new Animations and gesture automatically change to the old.
There Is a way to have the new gesture with alternative Launcher?
We need to wait until Samsung update the new gestures to other launchers like google did it for the pixel.
So do you think Samsung will update this?

The animation is a bit glitchy.
They are too glitchy, unusable form me!
Had to give up on Nova, too glitchy, much better using stock launcher

yeah, its better to stay on stock launcher if you want to use gestures. i think the next update from Samsung will fix this for 3rd party launchers

Hey guy's I've purchased this phone today and I was curious if this phone only plays ball with its own stock pixel launcher, I ask because I'm using nova launcher and when I lock the phone and unlock it again there seems to be a black screen for about a second before it goes to the home screen and also double tap to sleep gestures don't work smoothly

I've used Lawnchair on my Pixel 4 XL and it ran smoothly for me, none of the issues you mentioned.
I've been using Nova from the get-go and no issues like you've described. Have you looked thru all of Nova's settings? Nothing to do with Transitions? What about trying to change the phone's animations all to 0.5x?

I love the animations on 1.0 lol I'm just gonna try a different launcher and hope the problem disappears
I too have been using Nova since October and never had any lag issues.
It's not lag per se it's more clunky animations plus I hate that you can't use gestures with another launcher hopefully this gets fixed in Android 11 I love the swipe right from the bottom to switch between recent apps

Google made it possible for 3rd party launchers to work correctly with Android 10's gestures. I am using Action Launcher atm and the bottom right swipe works correctly along the test of the gestures.
Guys, only the pixel launcher fully works with gestures nav on the pixel 4... yes 3rd party launchers kind of work but they are not fully working and glitchy. That's why there even is a magisk module called quickswitch that make lawnchair fully working with the gestures and animations.

I think if I've learned anything from these threads... it is that there is no consensus for this topic. My opinion is that Nova is working fine. This opinion conflicts with what feels like half of other opinions.
I think anyone making/reading these threads will need to try it for themselves and form their own opinion.

The only thing in Action Launcher that doesn't work is the apps at the bottom of recents. Everything else works just like pixel launcher. Gestures, animations, copy/share any text on the recents/overview screen. It does everything that the quickstep/quickswitch module can do without it.

On my Pixel 5 the behaviour with third party launchers (tried Nova and Microsoft) is terrible. If I swipe up to go home then often the launcher has to seemingly redraw/refresh before I can do anything. If I use three button nav there is no issue. It's annoying as I hate being stuck with the search bar and 'at a glance' weather in the standard launcher, but much prefer gesture nav.
Is this a common thing or anyone got any ideas to fix?

You are welcome to try this if all you want is "at a glance weather" and search bar gone on standard launcher. However, you cannot use the space vacated by the weather. This is as high as you can go.
If you root your device, I'd suggest using the 3 button navigation, then remove it using Tusladiver's mod and then using FNG navigation, its customizable and a lot better then google's implementation I think.
Using Nova launcher, I noticed if I chose another animation, under "Look and feel", then "app animation" the blank refresh went away. I just chose zoom.
EDIT: It started again. But, not as much

Clock Mods - Remove Navbar or Battery etc. Mods
I don't have this phone but I thought I'd try a couple of clock options if someone is interested in trying them. Root required. Flash in magisk manager. Most of these are SystemUI mods and might not be compatible with any other SystemUI Mods...

I love microsoft launcher. I had the same issue with the redraw. I set it to only a single row on the nav bar and it seems to have to figure it. It's almost like the launcher was fighting with the OS for swipe up control.
