Is there anyway to make my phones secondary cam as primary for all apps, as the primary camera is damaged but the secondary works fine I can switch between primary and secondary but only while taking pictures, can't shoot video or do the same in any other app

Hello everyone,
I'm wondering if we can use the wide angle camera for camera apps such as Snapchat and or Camera MX. Itt would be amazing to show off on ur friends.
I think where we should look is how to switch the primary camera to the wide-angle camera.
Your ideas are welcomed!! :good:
Tried WhatsApp & twitter, both let you toggle all 3 cameras.

I have another concern. If there are AOSP or CM-based ROMs in the future, is there going to be a way to make the Google camera app use the wide angle lens? Or even better, be able to switch between the lenses like the stock ROM?
I wouldn't use it as primary because it lacks auto focus but I'd love to switch between them especially for photosphere photos..
It works for whatsapp but it doesn't for Google camera
If Twitter and WhatsApp let you use all three cameras, hopefully it's just a case of waiting for Snapchat and Google to implement support.
Yeah, i guess we need just a little more time for snapchat to support the third camera, specially more up coming phones now have 3 cameras
Don't expect anything from snapchat team. They are super lazy for anything about android.
Try Casper Snapchat client (casper.io) it let's use choose which camera app u want to to take snaps with including lg's camera.
I dont recommend using casper because you get banned from snapchat

Hello. I converted my MI a2 to mi 6x, and on every miui rom (excluding wayne_images_8.5.17_20180517.0000.00_8.1_cn_2af37d031e) the front camera doesnt save selfie photo, after I press to take photo, appears Camera error, cannot connect to camera and it closes. (I tried disabling enchance lowlight photo) The interesting thing is that video works, only photos arent saved
I've just bought k20 pro and I noticed the snapchat camera is always zoomed in compared to stock or google camera, is there a way to fix that or am I missing something, because I use snapchat camera way more than stock one and the picture quality in that suffers due to zoom issue
Snapchat does not works well in an android because of lots of other android phones with different screen sizes, chipsets, cameras, etc and the its is not actually zoomed it is stretched due to full screen aspect ratio and quality is **** than stock camera all you can do is use filters or buy an iphone

It's all because external apps in android don't use hardware camera implementation, instead they are using preview from recording view. There is no way for you to fix it, but app developers can just change implementation. Hovewer they won't probably do it, as there are too much different devices running android.
It's not zoomed in. Keep in mind that you're comparing 4:3 to something like 16:9 to 18:9. It cuts off the sides, which makes it look like it's zoomed in, but it's not.
Nothing can be done. Snapchat, Instagram etc uses the screen capture of the view finder,so the quality of the pics will be trash. To get optimized and good results go for iPhone.(any variant)
Hey guys I'm trying to use the mi 11 ultra as a webcam with the droidcam obs / iriun webcam app and am missing all of the cameras besides the front and the main camera.
Open camera also does not show the additional lenses. Camera2-api probe only shows front and back (main) cameras.
Is there a way to enable the other lenses? Iam heavily dependent on the ultra wide lens for video calls and streaming...
Thanks!!
( Running latest Europe firmware 12.0.6)
Hi guys, i want to buy a Pixel 7 but i need to know if there is some camera integration with the external apps.
As you know on Android if you use Instagram camera, Whatsapp camera etc. the picture will be awful. I thought that on the Pixel phones this was resolved but maybe this is not the case
But the most important thing for me is if the video stabilization (with gyro data) is supported on external apps as FilmicPro, Protake or mcpro24fps.
For example the OnePlus 9 Pro wasn't able to use the gyro data with external apps, so with the main camera app the video was super stable (but the video quality was terrible) while with external apps the video was very shaky (but the video quality was high).
(Currently i use the Xiaomi Mi 8 with Pixel Experience and obviously the Gcam )
