You don't need to...I use gpay and banking software whilst rooted and with mods installed.
Just install the universal safety net fix module for Magisk and systemless, click on zygisk as well.
Then you're done
Thanks for the replies guys but I really want a stock android with no root or mods. Just wanna know if I can relock the bootloader without bricking.
Thanks

If you have root right now. You need to go to magisk and tap unistall. Then full uninstall. Phone will reboot. Just to be safe. Then you can lock the bootloader.

Hi everyone,
I've recently unlocked my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 that came with the chinese rom so that I could install the global rom.
I've been using it for a while and when I opened a banking app, I get the following message:
Warning
It seems your device has had unauthorized modifications to its operating system. Using this device for your banking could compromise the security of your personal information.
I didn't think unlocking the phone would be this much of a risk. I don't understand too much about the technology behind this so I wanted to see if anyone could explain whats happening and if I should refund my phone.
Thanks!

You are probably using the global dev rom which doesn't pass Safetynet for various reasons. You shouldn't have any issues with the global stable rom.
Don't listen to the guy above. Flash Global Stable ROM if you haven't already and lock your bootloader. From then on all will be good.

I said pretty much exactly the same thing as you?
It won't matter whether he uses Dev or Stable if his bootloader is left unlocked. He needs both Global Stable and a locked bootloader.

U don't need to lock the bootloader to get it to work, I'm on the global ROM with unlocked bootloader - safety net passes.
It also passes on Xiaomi EU ROM with unlocked bootloader. Just flash one of those ROMs, install magisk, and set magisk to hide.

I am running Miui 9 global with unlocked bootloader and rooted with Magisk 14.3 and it passes safetynet and Android pay works just fine.
Guys, I know this is XDA but come on. Guy just wants a working phone without the hassle. He didn't ask for root or methods to bypass Safetynet with Magisk! Locking bootloader on an official Global Stable ROM is all he needs.

You forgot to mention they also didn't ask for locking the bootloader either.
Do you really think someone who says this really cares about bypassing Safetynet?

+1, installing magisk is definitely the easier fix. Won't need to wipe data or anything
@ssojyeti2, locking bootloader doesn't wipe data. Stop spreading misinformation. Also how is it easier if you have to flash (or at least boot TWRP) and then flash Magisk zip? To lock BL you need to run one command (fastboot oem lock) and you're done.

Ssojyeti2 just clearly said that flashing magisk doesn't wipe your data or anything. Nothing about locking bootloader...

Well said. I just got my phone and it's on the Chinese rom. I'm not a rom/flash xda member and I'm leaving my phone on the Chinese rom and stock. Bloat removed or frozen already with a 1.5gb update pending for download tonight (a nice option miui gave me) and a smaller update installed as I switched on the phone. I intend to keep this phone for a few years and I'm not f*cking with anything.
Gapps installed and working perfectly, including contacs sync which was an issue at some point. I haven't tried nfc yet but everything works including irrelevant apps asking for nfc access (lol). Nah, I'll stick with the Chinese rom until there's a compelling reason to change it.
Hi all,
is it possible to unroot the device, maybe through flashing stock firmware, and then use GPay as before rooting it? Even if the bootloader remains unlocked?
Thx in advance

How did you root it? Google Pay works fine on my rooted phone but there's a couple steps to get it to work.
It does work, but I want to sell my Mi 11, because I got a Mi 11 Ultra for not too much money. So I want to flash the original Software on the Mi 11 again. The question is, if GPay will still work after that.
I rooted it by converting the Boot.img file with the magisk app

Not sure. I don't have any experience with just an unlocked bootloader. I always have root along with it. Why aren't you locking the bootloader as well? China Variant? Usually, it makes more sense to lock the bootloader as well if you're selling it ?
It's the german variant. Isn't it risky to relock the bootloader?
There's no relocking risk if you flash the stock firmware beforehand.
Ok, thank you
Ok, thank you
I've tried before with several Xiaomi devices before Mi11 (mi8, mi9, poco x3 nfc and pro), but it surely works.

It's risky to lock with a different regional ROM on them. The only one that I know for sure about is the China variant of the phone which can only be locked with the OEM china firmware. The original ROM the phone came locked with is no risk at all. It might also be that the China variant is an outlier because they're not allowed to have GAPPS there.
Hi,
I have a Chinese Mi 11 Ultra. I have used the Mi flash tool to flash the EU based version of the ROM but I did not lock the bootloader. This has brought in some problems, such as GPay not working, which I dont really mind but the Mcdonalds app with the coupons also wont start up.
I am wondering, if I get the EU miui13 fastboot rom (original from Xiaomi), and use the mi flash tool to flash it, can I also lock the bootloader? Will it be fine or will it brick the device?
I believe this answers your question: https://c.mi.com/thread-2584760-1-1.html
The TLDR is you can only lock bootloader in China devices if you flash the China ROM. Some people claim to have successfully flashed China ROMs on Glogal phones and locked the bootloader without any issues but you'd be taking a risk.

Hi, Thanks for the answer. Guess I cant lock the bootloader then. Do you know of anyway to get the services working that require a locked bootloader? Iirc it's to so with safetynet but I cant remember if it was possible to overcome this with magisk. I havent been on the rooting scene for a long time so I didnt follow any updates

hi guys ,
i want to make my oneplus 10 pro 2213 model back to store condition
how can i lock the bootloader?
i cant find any answer anywhere and im not sure if fastboot enhancer is the solution
my device is fully work btw
thanks
it's highly recommended that you don't do that. Most of the devices I've seen get brincked in that operation.
But if you wanna proceed with that, you have to flash the stock image back again, there must be no changed image (boot, recovery, system...).
And then you can run the command "fastboot flashing lock"
what about msm tool
anyway to do that with the tool ?
There is no tool current available to O10PRO, all there is require username and password.
A lot of people, myself included, are waiting for a msm tool so we can fix our devices.
OK
so if my bootloader is unlocked any problem for gpay ota ect?
It may not work .. Netflix doesn't work for example. Gpay as I don't use can't say for sure

No unlocking the bootloader will not effect gpay or any other banking app. Now if you are rooted then yes gpay and banking apps will not work. You will have to use Magisk to fix that.
Well I'm not sure

That could be the difference between the 2213 and 2215. I got my 15 from OnePlus carrier unlocked. That's the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader. Now my gpay, paypal and my banking apps all work. I'm not rooted yet I'm just waiting on a full rom update to get the boot.img. But I see that OnePlus is going to post oxygenOS 13 today. I might check it out. OnePlus has really done a number to the 10 this time. As for as Netflix I think there is a thread in here some place.
Hi guys
Anything new in the MSM tools?
Or maybe any other way to lock the bootloader?
look on GitHub for fastboot enhanced works really great as long your in de bootloader you can do every command with just a click i was thinking on doing that my self to but then i saw something's what i want to try out and there is also a fastboot ROM in the forums maybe that you help you too
Thanks !
I will read about that!
i have the same question.
I have a NE2213, unlocked and rooted and now want to sell it.
So my plan was to uninstall Magisk with all Modules, do a factory reset, update to NE2213_11_A.16 and then relock the bootloader.
since i am only rooted with stock rom - the only changed image should be the boot.img which will be stock after i update zo A.16.
Should be right, isnt it?
since my only other option ist to contact the support for a online MSM-Tool, which i need to do anyways when it does not work - i would give it a try...

Fastboot commands for restoring to stock worked for me.
OnePlus 10 Pro Fastboot ROMs (and how to make for any device)
First of all and most importantly, I want to say that this is not my work. This is a port of the work done by @abhinavgupta371 and @HELLBOY017 for the OP9RT. I merely made sure there weren't extra or missing files and edited the .bat and .sh...

FYI - Was able to lock the bootloader on my OP 10T, A.06 Oxygen OS.
Hi,
I bought 3 years ago a new Xiaomi Mi9 M1902F1A with unlocked bootloader and global version installed. This model is a China version with 8Gb RAM.
My question is if it possible to relock the bootloader ( Global version remaing ) because some apps ( ex Google Pay ) not accept unlocked bootloader.
Thanks

Nope,if you lock it with this version of rom, the phone is bricked.

I understood exactly. How many versions of Magisk stopped working and an update was needed . I know what is Magisk is and I know the challenge from Google certification and Magisk cheating. This is a never ending story. And you know why I stoped using root and Magisk. Because exactly when I needed moustly the Magisk stopped working.

Well, well, if you change your phone, check that it is compatible with at least a Xiaomi Eu rom.
