Try disable dm verity with TWRP, wipe all data and try flash again
Related
I am in trouble of loosing all my userdata after following the below process:
1. I was on stable 4.5.1 and not encrypted.
2. flashed blue_spark 8.52 recovery.
3. Reboot to recovery and full wiped (except user data).
4. Flashed OOS beta 18 and Magisk 14.3.
5. Rebooted and waited for 20 min but was still on rebooting process.
6. Force rebooted to recovery and alas!, twrp asking for decrypt password!!!
7. Reboot to system and message appears as 'Encryption Unseccessful'
I am not been able to access any partition including userdata from TWRP (as it's asking password), OOS also not booted as well.
Now I will be grateful if someone have any knowledge to skip TWRP password and provide access to userdata to recovery/copy data (photos/files etc) from the device before format userdata and start over again.
If your data was previously decrypted then disable encryption, format data, install a ROM that does not enforce encryption, then try looking on the Play Store for photo recovery apps.
Note that it will not be possible to recover data from the encrypted part of the device. If you left it running for 20 minutes, the chances are your data is almost entirely gone at this point.
Like stated above, your data is probably destroyed since you interrupted the encryption process.
Have you tried "default_password" as the password in TWRP?
Hi Guys,
I want to install magisk on my phone (S7 Edge Exynos - stock Oreo). I also installed TWRP (which does not stick for some reason) which tripped my Knox.
I tried both the latest stable and beta versions via odin - and tried either just "preserve force encryption" (default) or "preserve force encryption" and "preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity" but it yielded the same issue:
"Verification Failed: Unable to restart your device. The integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data" and this asks me to reset. Fortunately, I can still use odin to flash stock boot.img.tar.
I tried TWRP but I can't access my storage files (both sd card and internal storage). I mounted USB OTG to follow this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-install-magisk-galaxy-s7-exynos-t3726314) and flash the two files mentioned but the same error occurred.
Is there any other way aside from formatting data (to let twrp access internal storage and allow me to flash the disable encryption zip) or to do factory setting (so that encryption will be gone)?
I don't have any backups of my files and titanium backup does not work on non-rooted phones.
Thank you!

You need to ask in your device's forum if that twrp version is able to read encrypted storage. It doesn't sound like it.
How I can disable encryption in TWRP? That I can see sdcard and flash files etc.
Editing vendor.img didn't work.

Hello! I wanted to root my phone and I installed twrp. When I wanted to install magisk, the phone has started to restart in twrp mode and I made a big mistake. I made a wipe all data system, everything.
How can I install a os now? There is twrp but I can not make copy a file from pc to phone. Help me please..
When TWRP have booted you should be able to transfer rom. Maybe you need to format (where you need to confirm with yes) first if encryption is enabled.
Search for TWRP settings, enable and disable the USB Connection feature. Already tried?
Hi, please, I need help. I wanted to root my note 8 (exynos) using TWRP (with odin) and MAGISK. But at the reboot in recovery mode, TWRP asks me to wipe my data, something I don’t wanna do of course. The problem is i can’t go back because the system reboots in a loop and I can’t make a backup of my rom with all my data because it doesn’t recognize them, when I mount a partition I can’t select data. Thank you for helping me because I don’t wanna lose my files.
