Anyone know if the T-Mobile version can by chance be bootloader unlocked in this? I only ask because on my OP7 Pro developer preview 3 T-Mobile forgot to keep the bootloader locked out so I was able to unlock and root then go back to Android 10 while keeping it unlocked and rooted

Their article states it is not compatible with tmo/vzw but I also wouldn't be surprised if it would work. Waiting to hear feedback by a brave member that tries.

Unlock bootloader

How do I unlock the bootloader of my Huawei mate 9 ?
Did you get the key before July 24? If not.... you can't. Not without paying some third party that might or might not work. (eg. Funky Huawei )
This worked for me. But you have to pay 4€.

It does work but first you need to downgrade your phone to nougat (Android 7.x) first and then it will work.

No, but there's a chance that the tools you buy access to might be able to extract that unlock code...no guarantee...no refunds...
EDIT seller says its 4.4.23+ EMUI/Android Version: 8.0 is that the unlockable one or is there more to the version that says it?

You need the build number and security patch date.
Pretty much all EMUI 8 builds on the Mate 9 run a 4.4.23+ kernel, even up through the latest security patches.
Once you know the build number, find it in Firmware Finder, and find the build for that region that enables GPU Turbo. If it's an older build, then it's likely that you could use the official rollback firmware to get the bootloader unlocked.

Yup, .375 is the latest one that's good, after that .377 had GPU Turbo and issues with downgrading.
so im good to downgrade? i will message you when i get the phone in a few days thanks

You won't get into the trouble that others did with .377 or later, yes.
But there's no guarantee everything works nicely.
Do read as much as possible before doing anything.
Also keep in mind that Android 9 is coming soon so maybe you don't need to unlock and whatnot.

Mi9 china version to global???

I have ordered the Explorer version, which is not there yet, come the days. Has anyone experienced what it looks like with a global version, so to install it? with locked bootloader? Am now back to miui for years and have lost something the overview. Will of course open the bootloader, but that always takes a bit
Congratulation for your Explorer Edition.
you can switch from china to global with unlocked bootloader (after 300 hours) but you should not lock the bootloader back after flashing, this will brick your device.
2nd disadvantage of these chinese edition is lack of LTE band 20.
If you are a european user this will have negative impact of your mobile coverage because most of our mobile phone providers use this band.
I would also like to have had the explorer edition but lack of Band 20 isn't a compromise for me.
yes thank you for the info, just hope the Xiaomi not sometime the bootloader still locks permanently.
seems like China version can install global rom via unlocked bootloader.
is there any instruction on how to do so?
also what will happen if bootloader is unlocked? thanks in advance!
Is there any way to install global rom on china version with locked Bootloader? Maybe with XiaoMiTool V2 ?

Yes, go to any Xiaomi subforum and ask, what will happen, when you buy chinese hardware and flash global rom - it will brick.
Thanks for answer.
Next question....If i unlock the BL and flash the global rom (without root), does i get problems with google safetynet check? For example i want to use google pay.

They not talking about the play store but google pay (formally known as Android pay) which doesn't work or typically doesn't work if the bootloader is unlocked, but magisk root I believe has a mod to by pass but don't quote me on that I haven't used a xiaomi device before and haven't rooted my phone since I used my old Nexus 6p (which had bootloader unlocked and root with google pay working)(using Huawei mate 10 pro without root)

Unfortunately, you're on v3 bootloader and cannot go back to Android 9 as that is on v2 and older.

If you have a G973U like the OP, then a million posts would let you know it's not rootable.
Can it be downgraded from 11 to 10?
only if your on the same bootloader version "whitch I think is V4"
its likely your phone is on a later version

Since this thread comes up in searches, I thought it would be good to add that as of now, the Snapdragon 973U can be rooted. The bootloader can be unlocked if it is version 4 or less. There are threads on XDA that tell how.

For the beyond1qlte (Galaxy S10 SM-G973U Qualcomm) the latest bootloader version is 6 afaik.
To check your bootloader version look at 5th character from the right of your Android build number.
Examples:
bootloader version 5: N970USQS5EUA1
bootloader version 6: N970USQU6FUB7
Neither of those can be unlocked. As I said above, you need to be on 4 or earlier to unlock the bootloader on this device. @afaneh92 can give you more info.
EDIT: Oh, sorry. I misread your question. I don't know the last BL version for 10.

According to https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s10/firmware/#SM-G973U latest USA Android 10 firmware had bootloader 4 (per the check MtnX2 mentioned). You can look at other countries if you are not in the USA.
On Snapdragon phones, you cannot downgrade the bootloader, so if you're already on Android 11 or a newer bootloader, you're stuck there and cannot go to an older version.

I recently purchased (from ebay) a Galaxy S10 with Android 11 and bootloader version 4, and I was able to unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM. It wasn't easy to find the device because now most S10s are updated.

I have an Exynos from Europe, already at Android 11 with bit v14... the latest one. I have found some older bootloader, but flashing with Odin was refused, with TWRP flasing process was successful, but it did not change the bit... so I guess I stuck with Android 11.

I believe Exynos can still be downgraded. The process is different for Exynos vs Snapdragon, so you may want to look into it more deeply... you just have to find Exynos-specific threads for the matter.

Its not exynos thread, but will answer you.
You can flash firmware has same bootloader rev, I assume 14=E
So only firmware with E on 5th character from the right on build number.

Question Confused!!!

Sorry if this has been asked
Hi this is my 1st ever Xiaomi phone always had Samsung
Love the phone it's mint
I'm confused when it comes to updates and all the different kind of versions to the roms
And reading some comments about ota updates I'm just confused as hell lol
So I'm in UK on Vodafone im
On miui 12.0.2 stable global
How do I get 12.5 update please as it doesn't show for me
Do you have to manually flash all updates ?
How do I know if my bootloader is locked?
How do I safely update /flash phone ?
If I flash phone will that void warranty?
Will my bank apps and Google pay work as I need Google pay ?
What is the best version to flash people and do some roms have better features to use than the 1 I'm already on ?
Sorry for being dumb I'm just scared to do things wrong
Thanks for taking time to read this and if you have spare time to reply and guide me I'd be ever so grateful. Can't imagine ever going back to Samsung I just love this phone

Starting from halfway down!
If your phone is new, the bootloader is locked.
How to safely flash? Read the threads on unlocking the bootloader. There is very little risk provided you have learned how to do it (and not much risk even if you don't).
Warranty. I don't know. But you can always reflash stock firmware and relock the bootloader.
Most people who unlock flash Xiaomi.eu ROM. It is what I use. It's based on the Chinese firmware but heavily modified.
Banking apps and google pay work just fine
