Question Work Profile apps not showing under "App Battery Saver" - Xiaomi 11T Pro

Hey All,
I have a new Xiaomi 11T Pro (MIUI 13) and I'm trying to complete "work profile" setup, but fail at the last step because the phone doesn't allow me to disable battery optimization for "Microsoft Defender" app.
When i go to "Settings/Apps/System App settings/Security/Battery Optimsation/App Battery Saver", to disable battery optimization, i can't find any of the "work profile" apps listed.
Appreciate any suggestions you can share to make this phone to use my work profile apps (attached few screenshots for your reference).
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have the same on Redmi Note 10 Pro, Miui 12.5.3 Global, and stopped at the very same step.
Did you find any solution?

Not sure to have understood everything, but with regard to Ms defender, keep pressing the icon then information, battery saver, no restriction.

Unfortunately there is no such option. The Defender has been installed centrally via Intue, it appears in work profile and cannot see among installed apps.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mi...nt/android-support-signin?view=o365-worldwide - here similar is described but the workaround simply doesn't exist.

A colleague tried a workaround (see below) and it worked for him but didn't work for me (i have now run into a issue of intune not able to create a work profile after i reset the phone few days back).......
the workaround is -
1. If you already have Company Portal installed and tried configuring, go to next steps
2. Install MS Defender in the personal profile
3. Go to "Settings" -> "Battery" -> on the top tap "Battery" -> "App Battery Saver" you should find MSDefender in the list here -> try setting the battery optimization here.
Apparently by doing so, configures the battery optimization for MSDefender work profile instance as well. Let me know how it goes.

Yeah, I found out finally, OMG, on my Xiaomi, I cannot find by name 'Microsoft' in battery optimization, I had to scroll down manually. For me it was: Settings > Battery optimization > Select 'All apps' > and then scroll down and find 'Microsoft Defender', and select 'Don't optimize'.
However this looks to be a bit overkill method for company use; can this be somehow automated, preferrably with Intune? I tried, but I get stopped at this battery issue.

[Q] XXJVK - SGS Gingerbread 2.3.3 - Battery History

Hi for all....
I installed new XXJVK rom for SGS today.
After install Spare Parts to access "Battery History", when set option, application hang and forced to close...
I tried:
- run testing appl, with *#*#4636#*#* and no option;
- Spare Parts dont work
- Settings -> About Phone and search for... and nothing;
Anybody find battery history on Gingerbread? When i run emulated GB from Android SDK (API 10) there is no option to run this feature (a very usefull feature).
If this feature no longer exist, what application show this on previous versions?
I think this is a portable feature... if there is no option to access for this, i will work from these... of corse, if possible.
Any suggestions or ideas?

During this week i work to find "Battery History" on gb source and... SURPRISE!! This feature was removed! No more exists.
Has been replaced with new (and very useless) version.
I working to recreate a userfull version for gb.
I have a functional core, and its working fine. in next week i will work in visual style.
First off all i implement basic funcionalities, and increment over the time.

I dont have it too . But you do know that in

I meant froyo as I said previous versions....
Yes... i see that graph option (Settings -> About Phone -> Battery Use and press time graph), but show less informations, eg "Partial Wake Up".
The informations showed in this older menu is big usefull...
If google removed these statistics, would be a major setback.
so, how's your batt drain? is it good, bad or same like before?
Apparently the battery is drained more moderately.
With Foyo, in testing only (without heavy use), battery go from 100% to 0% in 6d16h. Obviously, with a lot of improvements...
The problem is without these great feature ("Battery History") i can't apply any improvements, because i don't have any meters for partial usage and others.
Now i working to create a little utility to show this menu in a application. So, i need download gb first, analyse and create...

Time context repeat wont fire

Hey guys. I have two different power saving profiles that I use for home and work to turn on/off Autosync. My work-profile does not work properly, and I think it has to do with the repeating option in the time context. My home-profile works perfect, and the only difference between these profiles is that the repeat-interval is much shorter in my home-profile. Sometimes the work-profile fires, sometimes not. I tried experimenting with the repeat-interval and if I change it to 10,15 or 20 minutes (for example) it works every time. This is why I am pretty convinced it has to do with the repeat-interval.
This is how my work-profile looks like. The other contexts (Wifi connected and weekdays) are always activated when I test the profile, so they are not the issue.

My home-profile has repeat-interval of 20 minutes, and that works as I said flawless.
Has anyone else experienced any problems using longer intervals with repeating contexts, or could it be anything else?
Repeating time context seems to be an issue on Samsung devices running Android 5.1 ->, in THIS thread there is a lot of people with exatcly the same issue.. Not good.
Did you already try activating the option "Use Reliable Alarms" in settings/preferences/monitor?
This feature solved the problem with my time context profiles on MM occasionally not activating.
Also it's best to exclude Tasker and Secure Settings in Battery Optimization feature of MM.

I have not activated Reliable alarms, I will look into this! I have already excluded Tasker and Secure Settings (and all other plugins I use for Tasker) from Doze though.
I tried a different solution yesterday though, to only have a single context (State) since the Time context seems to be the problem;
State -> connected to work-Wifi.
Action 1 -> Sync ON
Action 2 -> Wait 5 min
Action 3 -> Sync OFF
Action 4 -> Wait 2hours
REPEAT ALL ACTIONS FOUR TIMES
EXIT TASK - > Sync OFF
In this way I get the same result since it covering the hours I am at work. The same could be done when connected to Home-Wifi but with a lot more repeats. Since the Task only will activate when connected to Wifi (and end when disconnected) I don`t need any specific hours when the Profile should run. So this should work in the same way..
Anyway, I will try your suggestions as well and see if it fixes the issue.
Thanks!

Tried set ``Use Reliable Alarms´´ to ``Always´´, but dint work. Repeat works the first 1-3 times but after that it will stop or only activate the task sporadically. I think I have some serious bug in Tasker since this is not the only issue I have for the moment. Will probably try to reinstall and load a older backup and see what happens..
Problem solved. See HERE for info.

Question Is the app menu option "Optimize battery usage" gone?

How can we access the options menu where you decide whether each app is optimized battery usage?
Since the recent update to Android 12 Oneui 4, I cannot find it in any of the options menu settings! Seems like it was removed.
I was able to see it only after an app requested it because it be turned off for itself. But how do I find the menu by myself, like when just going through the list of apps?
Looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Not sure but yeah it appears it's gone. Now it looks like you gotta go to settings > apps and select the app of which you want to modify the battery optimization setting.
There is also the "background usage limits" in battery settings. You can add "sleeping apps" or "never sleeping apps" there. No idea if it's the same thing as the list from A11. But it probably is.
But the optimize menu still exists and works, so how can I invoke it myself?
Apps can invoke it, and my phone even shows the menu as a separate app than the settings menu. I can use the recent button to bring it back, but need to still be in memory from another app invoking it.
How can I invoke it or create an icon shortcut to it?
Settings -> Apps -> pick an app -> Battery -> then pick from the three options
Install QuickShortcutMaker, add widget to Home screen, click on it and define it as a shortcut to com.android.settings.Settings$HighPowerApplicationsActivity
And shame on Samsung for hiding it, deliberately or now, it's a jerk move.
Opening each app manually to set its battery optimization settings is a non-starter.

wow, well done, sir. It's F'd that I gotta be a semi-power-user to be able to create a shortcut to bring up this hidden menu. I don't think there's any way to navigate to this menu for "normal people", is there? Goddamn, Samsung, why? Assholes.
The crossover between Samsungs "never deep sleeping app" menu and the "restrictions" per app, confuses me.
When setting an app to unrestricted, it becomes invisible to select as to never sleep.
Do these conflict? As its the case that something is set as optimised in one menu but never sleep in another, which is actually the case?
Plus I'm getting delayed notifications, so I'm just confused.

Question Mi 11 ultra, USA T-Mobile

Hello everyone.
So I got mi 11 ultra, Chinese version, right now it's running on EU 13.0.13 stable. And sometimes I don't receive all text messages. Like I can chat with someone normally one day and the next day they will text me but I won't receive that message, it happens really random but it already screwed me up couple of times.
I'm not sure what is causing the problem. I have been factory resetting phone, did all the updates, I have Google messages as default app.
Any help will be appreciated!
Turn off Miui optimization.

For some reason i don't have option to turn off Miui optimization. Even after clicking "Reset to default values" multiple times.
It's a hidden option.
Tap a few times on "Reset to default values".
Then the only the optimization option is visible.

Probably they've completely removed it in the latest Miui .
You'll need to change the battery saver settings for the app.
In settings>battery.

I had the exact same issues with my Chinese ROM 11 Ultra on TMobile in the US.
Very very frustrating as this was my very first Android experience after coming from iPhone for about a decade.
I played with many of the different messaging apps and many different app settings. For a while there, I was a 2-phones McGillicuddy and carried the 11 Ultra along with my old iPhone 12 mini.
Happy to report that my issue has gone away now. What resolved it? I went to the stock, built in messaging app. That's it and that's all.
You may want to look at this video if you are still having issues with your message receiving, but as I said, going to the built in message service fixed the issue for me.
I just wanna jump in to say that I've had zero problems with google messages as default texting app but that I had to change my APN type to fix the text message issues. I also called my carrier (Mint, but uses T-mobile towers) and they improved my data connection reliability by changing something on their backend.

Question Help - trying to remove the last few niggles

Although I am enjoying the phone, there are a few issues that I struggle to get rid of.
The biggest is the lack of update so I can finally add a card to google wallet, but I'm trying to be patient.
1. Other than that, text messages....As explained earlier, it seems the debloat script removed it for some reason. I want to restore it by adding the script changing the 0 to 1, but I don't know what line referes to the message app. Any ideas? There is nothing in the debloat script saying "message" or "sms/mms"
2. Sometimes I accidently swipe right on the lock screen which produces some Chinese slideshow. Any idea how to disable and maybe add something useful to the swipe action?
3. I'm in light mode but still can't get whatsapp messages and the spotify player on the lock screen.
4. Using company portal, the only keyboard I can pick is Chinese Baidu. Company portal splits your phone in Work and Personal. Work is highly restricted and I can't figure out how to install a new keyboard.

5. Using the standard launcher; app icons for the company portal (Outlook/Teams etc) keep moving to the last page on my phone (I have 4 pages of icons). Any idea how to lock them in to place?
Thank you!
Regarding your points :
1. Usually it should be com.android.mms , which isn't on the list you're right, but just try it anyway. If not, try "ADBAppControl" for Windows and search it there. It's also simpler to re/debloat using this program anyways. Or you can try to download (or view) the app in the vivo appstore.
2. Search for the vivo app "interactions" (or long press on the homescreen and tap interactions) which has a icon of a black cube > Now, tap on the lower right corner and select "nothing".
3. Go to Settings > Security > More Security Settings > Device and App Notifications and be sure that Whatsapp and/or Spotify is allowed. You can also check on the homescreen, if you long press on the app, and tap on "App Info" > Notifications > and check "Allow Notifications" > Then check all (needed) "Alert Modes"
EDIT: > 4. Install a new Keyboard from the Playstore (lke Swiftkey or Gboard,..) Go to Settings > Apps & Permissions > Permission Management > Permission Tab > Scroll all the way down to "Default App Settings" > Input Method > Your downloaded keyboard. From there you could also replace other default apps.
> 5. There SHOULD be an extra setting in stock launcher settings.. if I remember correctly from my old X70 Pro+. But can't exactly remember, sorry.
Hope this helps somehow.
Thanks for the advice. Might be easier to just download via Vivo store. Can anyone tell me the name or show me the icon?

In the worst case - but I know that‘s not cool - you can reset your phone and all apps will come back, then debloat carefully using ADBAppControl.
EDIT : Or you could try to install the apk on Apkmirror, but don‘t know if it works :

vivo Messages 6.2.6.0. APK Download by vivoglobal - APKMirror Free and safe Android APK downloads

the APK worked - thank you so much! That's the main issue sorted
