Huawei MATE 20 LITE screen flickering when notification(dropdown menu) is pulled down

Hello. I just bought a Huawei Mate 20 lite, and I immediately noticed that when the notification menu is pulled down, the background (the part of the screen that's visible under the menu, not the menu itself) is flickering. I tried lowering the resolution to HD+, down from FHD+ and the problem seems to disappear. Any ideas as to what that would be? If it is a hardware bug, I can return the phone and ask for another one, or maybe if there is a fix anyone knows of, and this little "bug" here doesn't turn into a bigger problem overtime, I can just apply that.
Thank you very much and have a nice evening.
The same happens to me and not only that. If i left the phone in the same screen for a few minutes and pull down the notification bar or any other dark (not black) screen the screen looks like is burned.
Hio, i have exactly the same, i don't know why they would do something like that but, i don't think its some hardware damage or unwanted either since on other backgrounds if you want so, or other screens it doesn't happen for me, as far as i can see only happens on home screen etc... Also a friend from me has exactly the same with different firmware... Don't know about the burned looking part from 2nd post, definitely don't have that!
Greetings
eXeDriN
Looks like a dynamic contrast issue to me. Go to settings, display, color mode and pick normal. That might fix it.

Hello friend, I tried what you recommended, but to no avail. My biggest concern is whether this might be a hardware issue, or it's most certainly a software one - if it's a software issue i wouldn't be bothered at all and i'd just wait for an update or even put a pure android on it, but if it is indeed a hardware issue, i need to know so I can return the phone.

Try it out?
Install a different firmware, roll back to the oldest firmware or something like that. Change your backgrounds, try it out with different apps, play around with screen testing apps. Even if someone here has a similar problem and it's hardware related, yours might still be something different. It's hard to tell over a forum.
Good luck with "pure Android" though, this phone will cost you quite some bucks to just get unlocked and there's merely any support for AOSP ROMs (maybe not even the littlest bit, I didn't look at OpenKirin yet since the phone is so expensive to unlock lol)

question about quality off mi9 amoled

Hi quys!
first of all ,sorry for my bad english!
but, i recently bought xiaomi mi 9 , i had lot of problem with it till now but the most important of it, its about display panel.
my perivious phone was samsung s8 Plus and s8 display was awesome (its 2 years before phone) but my mi 9 display not good as s8 plus , not even close, is this normal? or my phone have problem software?
Hi, what problem did you get ?
I had the reglular Samsung S8 and I find the Mi9 panel not far from the S8. As it is 1080 and not 1440 it has not as high pixel density, but I am more than happy with the Mi9. Never have any problems in bright sunlight as I could have with the S8.

thanks for your reply, but i a disappointed the first time i saw mi 9 display. i think the icons are like washed out and not sharp. i saw someone in this forum said after update mi9 , have a better display and compared his phone with S9!
my next problem is updating miui. my mi 9 is china pack and the website that i bought my phone , open phone box and flash global rom on china rom in china country and send them to customers. i have weird problem with the phone.crash app frequently ,google play service crash and stop ...,the worst problem is closing all apps and go to lock screen and after unlocking phone ,the message "find device closed unexpectedly" showed me and if im not reboot my phone this problem repeat and even sometimes my phone reboot itself even twice or more. now i signed out from my mi account and i turned off sync option and set off battery optimization and lots of setting option, and betternet app (vpn) not use anymore (this app made a lot of problem for me , i think) and now i have a better experience. i wished a new update fix my all problem . i am on V10.2.9.0.PFAMIXM Global Rom and new OTA Update V10.2.13.0 shown on my phone after downloading update , my phone reboot to start the update but after 25% in fastboot update failed and not update this time OTA Update is 2.2GB . i repeat this process a lot and no progress. even downloading zip file by PC and update manually not help, phone it said this is not official update.
what is the problem of my phone for OTA Update!?
You might be looking for more vivid colors. Go to Settings, Display, Contrast & Colors, and see if moving between "increased contrast" and "Standard" gives you more of what you expect to see. You can also set the color temperature to better match what Samsung uses by default

Yes, didn't think of that as I always tune down the overly saturated Samsung displays!
The auto brightness also seems to be a bit off. I have my brightness forced.
If you have DC dimming turned on, it can also change colors if you are on a lower brightness.
Coming from note 8 i am very satisfied with the screen, if the note is a 10" the mi 9 is 9,5". (i change the settings to be more vivid). I

Question Auto brightness problem

Hi all, I used this 11 ultra for about 3-4 months, everything work well, but suddenly in few days ago, my screen auto brightness is darker thân before. I think auto brightness sensor is dirty or some dust maybe block it from function. But i dont know where is that sensor to clean it

Can't help you then. One of the reasons why I like this phone is that you can enjoy the superior hardware while fixing any software issues (which you can be sure to expect) because it's so easy to root

Strange indeed, I think it was a bug exclusive to the EU ROM , perhaps intentional to make battery life longer

Question Current usability of the xiomi 11t pro

Hey guys i was thinking of getting the 11t pro,and for a few reasons i can only go for a mi phone at the moment ( i actually am getting quite a large discount from mi store in India). So my question have most of the issues like the overheating been ironed out or are there still issues with it and what other minor/major issues are there with the phone cuz for some reasons finding issues with this phone seems quite difficult on YouTube or else where. And how is the display and have there been any cases of black crush issue on the display. Thank you
Got the phone in January and have no issues whatsoever. The last update we got and I have no more heating issue. Screen has never given a problem either.

I am glad to know that. Is there any other quirk to the phone? And I would also like to ask you is there an option to disable the 120watt charging and like limit it to like 60 or something?

That option only exists in xiaomi.eu rom, and it's an option to either turn on or off, you can't adjust the voltage, with stock rom then no. If you want slower charge just get a slower charger imo.

Do you game on your phone much? I'm thinking of picking up an 11t pro, and wondered what temps were like for gaming when playing something heavy like genshin or similar. I was wondering if lowering the graphics/screen rate would prevent the phone from overheating....?

Same all the reviews said there isn't overheating but there is heavy throttling. But those were from months ago hence i am not sure if that is still the case or they fixed the issues with a software update.
Amazing phone for the price but also annoying and bad. The screen is horrendous. Proximity sensor is the biggest let down of this phone. I'm constantly tapping the screen to wake the phone up. It's just not responsive to wake and also unusable while making a call. Every single app is pressed with your ear while making a call, then it becomes impossible to hang up or go back to phone dialer. This is a deal breaker for me, I would not recommend this phone. Running the latest global 13.0.4 MIUI.
At this moment I'm thinking of getting a 12 Pro but I'm afraid it might have the same issue due to virtual proximity sensor. Might need to go for a OnePlus 9 pro or 10 pro. But this phone needs to go cause the screen will drive you insane

Question Should I get the Note 11?

I want to get the Note 11, but not sure if I should make the purchase or not. Hence, would be really grateful if owners could give me a review of the phone and their recommendation.
Moreover, I wanted to know if the phone has screen burnout issue, and if it has low earpiece volume problem. Most importantly, if it has network issues? Like if the network chip dies and the phone can not find any sim connection; and the only way to fix it is by changing hardware components. Any other problems the phone faces, would like to know them as well.
Thanking you in advance!

Problems with RN11:
1. No recovery partition. Some ROMs install their own recovery despite this, but be prepared to always risk getting stuck in fastboot, if you mistakenly try to install or save one and it borks.
2. Mine has the FocalTech (fts) touchscreen, so it is possible any ROM could take away necessary screen usage. There is a known issue with missing drivers. Research this forum on that. (Note - The RN10P has a recovery partition and some (like mine) have a Goodix touchscreen. It has no A/B partitions like RN11. I recommend you research that here as well, why they created A/B partitions.)
Otherwise, no other complaints. Cannot comment on earpiece volume. No network issues.
daily use, sure.
for thinkering, buy another brand or models.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I had few more questions, would be grateful if you could answer.
First off, if I don't install custom roms, then there won't be any issue with recovery partition and screen drivers right? Also, I plan on just installing the xiaomi.eu roms, would there be any issues?
Secondly, during calls, the earpiece volume is loud or audible enough right?
Thirdly, I saw some youtube videos and also few posts, showing how Note 11 suddenly stops detecting any cellular network and its a common issue, could you comment on that?
Lastly, could you give me few links where I could get a better idea regarding the recovery partition issue and A/B partition.
Thank you in advance.

Right. The potentially-missing screen drivers are OUTSIDE of the stock MIUI ROM's. Astounding we have not seen these extracted somehow yet. Now, the stock recovery won't give you much power, though.
I don't use the earpiece, only the speakers.
No comment on fading network issues.
You are in the right forum for your research. I recommend checking the Lineage20 ROM post and the crDroid 9.1/9.2 ROM post for the posts about A/B. But, search the forum afterwards instead.

before I buy this phone I really considering the Realme 10.
Really low quality CCDs, if you are into photos, it gives you trouble even if you want to scan something.
Google Assistant stopped working on stock roms.
As a Note 11 user. I will say you don't buy this phone. Even for daily usage. Ram management is poor in stock Rom. You can get some good performance if you install Crdroid. But fast charging won't work. So, I suggest you don't buy this model.

Fast charge works for me. I do not use custom kernels, and they are varied; - some do not enable fast charging. Using crDroid 9.2.
It's a good phone outside of the camera and GPU. If you're not into taking photos or gaming then go for it. Otherwise look elsewhere.
@Sheist! @maXDAmn @rel87 @pulsar @douteiful , thank you very much guys for your replies! Really appreciate it!
After taking your replies into consideration, and googling a bit, I figured the Note 11 might not be the phone I am looking for; hence, I might get something else.
AGAIN, Thank you very much guys!
