Question Hulu/Disney+ - Not working - OnePlus 10 Pro

Good day everyone,
Looking for some 'updated' direction/feedback on how to get Hulu & Disney+ to work on my current setup.
I've searched around XDA and Google for the past couple of days, and have not gotten any 'new' or working solutions.
So anytime I try to use Hulu or Disney+.. the content won't play through the app...
... i can use chrome, enable desktop view, and login to the sites and play content that way.... kind of a pain of a workaround, especially if I want to use the download option.
open to feedback/suggestions, and as always thank you all & the community
I'm running the OnePlus 10 Pro NE2213 (Global)
Bootloader unlocked / OEM unlock
Rooted, Magisk 24.3
Magisk: Zygisk enabled, deny list off - Google playstore, Services, Framework, Hulu, Disney+
Magisk modules: Shamiko, liboemcrypto disabler, MagiskHide Props Config, Universal SaftyNet Fix, Zygisk LSPosed
LSPosed modules: (mock mock location) Hide Mock Location, Hulu, Disney+
Google Play store shows as 'Device is Certified'
I've disabled Private DNS and disabled Adaway
Speed test results: 652mb down, 32mb up, jitter 3,
Edit:
This is the screen i get when trying to play anything in Disney+, Hulu just opens up and shows thumbnail of a scene and never starts to stream (same on LiveTV or a movie)
I have tried everything that i have found on Google...
Hulu

Thanks, I just tried it
It noted to turn off the 'DenyList', did so, rebooted
still unable to play Hulu or Disney+
anything additional I may need to do?

Maybe this:
Airfrozen

appears to just be a simple 'freeze' app, gave it a shot, same result.

that was my only thought since that got netflix working.

My Netflix worked when I removed Universal SaftyNet Fix and Zygisk LSPosed. Not even Shamiko, only Zygisk enabled with deny list. Ofcourse renamed Magisk as well

interesting, perhaps i am setting it up incorrectly. I was able to get my network working with the shotgun approach of throwing everything at it.. in another post I made about error 93.
What steps/settings exactly should I attempt with AirFrozen?

Getting some great feedback on this topic. Interesting you got netflix to work after removing SaftynetFix and removing LSPosed.
I am getting the impression it has to do with the unlocked bootloader, even though I am passing Playstore certified.
I also read about ensuring Private DNS is off as well as any adblockers like Adaway are disabled, because Hulu's ads that show.
I think this is more of a Android 12 issues with root/unlockedBootloader.
no issue at all on my OnePlus 8T or OnePlus 9Pro - both on Android 11.

Have safetynet fix installed. That's it. Clear the data on the apps after you add them to denylist or the won't work still.
I use Chromecast when I use them. Sorry both are not working for me on the phone(not streaming to Chromecast)

Both only work on Chromecast

I got a easier way find on GitHub Fox's Magisk Module Manager when you have installed that then you need to flash with that app liboemcrypto.so disabler module then it should be fixed according to a friend of mine he got that to work with it but he is in the eu i hope it helps you too

I'm not very tech-savvy myself, but hopefully someone in the community can offer some updated feedback or suggestions for you.
In the meantime, have you tried reaching out to Hulu or Disney+ customer support for assistance? They may be able to provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your device and setup.
And if you do happen to get it working, don't forget to come back and let us know what worked for you! Oh, and if you're ever looking for some recommendations on what to watch once you get it working, I highly recommend ""The Handmaid's Tale"" and ""Little Fires Everywhere"" on Hulu. Happy streaming, and good luck getting to watch Hulu in Chile!

You have to use Magisk Delta and the liboemcrypto disabler that i attached to my post, nothing else. You will only get widevine L3 but at least it will work.

[MAGISK 16][Battery Saver][6.0+] ENABLE DOZE on Google Play Services

Hi guys,
I actually made this module for my personal own use, but who knows, someone here might find it useful as well.
PIE & Magisk v19 Compatible Update
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-Nw6xHIhOPz06j4FqD-geAnMCz2NzPKX/view?usp=drivesdk
UPDATE NOTES :
OOS Nougat & Oreo User might not be able to find system app on Battery Optimisation list, you can work around this by using 3rd party app like Greenify or Naptime to open Doze Whitelist, you will see Google Play Services already listed as "Optimised App". Or go to App Info from setting, choose "Battery" and scroll down to "Battery Optimisation" - if the module work, it should written "Optimising Battery Use"
OREO User, PLEASE USE OREO version. v6 Update is already in the Magisk Repo.
BACKGROUND :
I always find that Google Play Services is way too aggresive in doing its activities in the background. And its no secret that this main services from google is oftenly one of the main culprit for the sub par battery performance on most stock or even custom ROM across devices.
THE IDEA & THE BARRIER :
Starting in Android 6.0, Google has introduced one of my favorite features in battery saving : DOZE (quick read about this Here), it help us to make apps go into a "shallow" hibernation state. Where it use less energy but retain it's functionality.
Thing is, this feature is NOT applicable for Google Play Services. Thus, it cant help you to save the battery from being eaten by Google Play Services. And this is not for no reason of course (read SIDE EFFECT/NOTE section bellow for further explanation)
THE SOLUTION :
Quick study (if you are interested, one of the discussion can be found Here) reveal that Google put simple configuration is /system/etc/sysconfig/google.xml that WHITELISTING Google Play Services from the DOZE Mechanism.
So to make DOZE able to work on it, we simply need to remove the whitelisting.
This is WHAT THIS MODULE DO - SYSTEMLESSLY (obviously)
By installing this module, you can move Google Play Services from the "App Not Optimised" list to "App Optimised" which mean DOZE mechanism will work its magic on Google Play Services, thus should saving you more juices/batt throughout the day.
THE SIDE EFFECT/NOTE :
Saving energy never come without side effect. Same goes with this method.
By enabling Doze on Google Play Services, it will theoritically delay/pause some it's services. Most noticeable might be the GCM (cloud messaging) services.
App that use this services might experience delay in notification when Doze already kick in.
Although, in my experience (i use this mod on all of my three devices) my notif for LINE, WhatsApp and Telegram (my main comm app) is never been delayed. ( I put all these apps in my whitelist btw)
The one i noticed had slight delay is GMail. But i check my mail regularly throughout the day, so i need no real time notif for that.
As for all other main services like Accounts, Alarm, Location and elses, i never have any issue with them when i got this module active. GPS work fine, Alarm ringing, Account Syncing normally.
HOW TO INSTALL :
SO if after reading all the PROs and the probable CONs above , you still interested in trying this mod,
Simply dowmload it from the attachment, and install it through your MAGISK MANAGER. And reboot.
After reboot, go to "Setting" - "Battery" - tap the tri-dot menu on the top right and choose "Battery Optimisation"
Choose "All Apps" and switch ON the toggle for Google Play Services (in most ROM, it will be automatically switched to ON once this mod is installed)
ENJOY THEN ! :highfive:
Addendum :
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE between (+) and standard module ?
• Plus (+) version modified by @VR25 has an extra feature, which removing Google Play Services from Background Data Access Whitelisting. Thus enabling data saver or restricting background data will impact Google Play Services as well. This might save you extra juice, but BEWARE for interrupted background data activities.
Choose the one suit you most.
COMPATIBILITY :
This Mod should compatible with any Marshmallow and Nougat ROM (Official & Custom) that has Google Play Services Installed on it,
Tested on :
OOS, LOS, CM13, MIUI, EMUI, and TouchWiz
If you found that this module causing issue for your set up, simply uninstall it from magisk manager, or use the TWRP Uninstaller.

Thats weird,
My S8, OP3 and P9 all has fingerprint scanner, and work normal.
Can you try,
Before placing finger on the scanner, turn on your screen first by pressing lock button,
If it managed to scan, then it means it doesn't actually break FP, it just the phone go to deeper sleep (since GMS is now hibernated as well) and refuse to wake up simply by placing finger.
But if it atill refuse to scan even with screen on. Send me a logcat

so after flashing this time I lost root and no cell serviceafter reboot. Looked at your module.prop and from my understanding with v12 modules are supposed to use versioncode 3 not 1. So I changed it 3 and zipped it back up. Booted into twrp used magiskmount to delete this module and flashed the one with 3 as versioncode and after booting up I have root and cell service and my home button is working like it should.

Crap, so that's where the issue belong,
although am using v1 myself on v12 Magisk, since it's supposed to have backward compatibility. And so far there's no issue.
I think ROM combination might have something to do as well,
but as for now i'll update the installer zip.
Thx for the debug!

Hi. I tried installing it. Installation worked and module appeared in the list, but on reboot it disappear. I'm on Galaxy Note 3 with custom kernel and custom magisk. I've asked if it could be that magisk's problem, but maybe could be this module fault?
My rom is Unofficial LineageOS 7.1.2.
P.S. I also tried flashing it with TWRP without success. I'll try this module in my tablet to check too (Lineage 7.1.2 too).

Download manager is independent from those services. If everything is optomize, nothing should be invoking download manager in the first place during doze. Thus download manager shouldn't be bothered with the battery optomize option.

Chromecast TV with nord vpn?

Anyone know of a way to install nord or setup a vpn on the chromecast? Now that the apps are directly installed on the chromecast and not just casting from the phone, it would be nice to be able to install the app and bypass region locked content.
If anyone was wondering yes you can easily install nord vpn or most other apps from the app store directly onto the device with no issues. Installed nord set it up and now amazon sees me in the US. so no more travel banner. Should of looked before asking but I assumed google wouldn't of allowed that.

What do you mean. I found the option for searching the play store under the apps tab.
Have you confirmed the VPN is actually working? I installed PIA client on my new Chromecast with Google TV, it shows as connected in the app, but the other apps are not going through the VPN connection.
If you use Connectify on Windows or one of the similar apps available on Linux, you can share your VPN connection that way. Right now I'm sharing PIA connection successfully, it's blocking all these stupid ads in the Cartoon Network app.

Thanks, another option is to run the VPN client from a dedicated access point/router and have the Chromecast connect to it. I bought the Chromecast to replace a laptop that's running Kodi w/ VPN and I was looking for an alternative to run the VPN client within Chromecast.
It doesn’t matter you’re on the moon, VPN or TOR or Tripple NAT, as long as you can reach your smartTV from your mirror source device (ping), no scope/subnet block/firewall, AND your mirror software can specify target IP/mirroring, otherwise you may need to forward your mirror advertising protocol to client.

I can also confirm on that. You can easily install any app through the Google assistant or through apps tap. I installed Nord VPN and unlocked blocked content on Netflix. I am in Canada and I am streaming The Big Bang Theory routing the connection through UK. It's so easy
not that it should come as a surprise but I setup openvpn to connect to my uk server for certain BBC content and it works just fine IIRC importing the profile was kind of stupid but I figured it out.

At least Netflix or other browser is not going through the VPN.

I've been going crazy for months but it doesn't work for me.
I also tried to install google maps & services via ourplay from vivo store (ourplay creates a sandbox), in which version of map the timeline is active but does not record my movements.
ive upgeaded to Ocean by OTA
Forget the sandbox. You may be aware that it is highly unlikely that one phone has a timeline and the other doesn't and the hardware or the system is the cause.
The more probable cause is your google account or settings. Therefore, I advise you to first check if your device is GPlay certified in settings. If not, you should achieve it by adjusting your google account (on a computer) or reset the phone.
Another useful approach is checking the timeline on other phone (or tablet). You may borrow one if you don't have it. If hte timeline works, the problem lies in your phone, otherwise in the google settings.
It doesn't work for me. Device side problem as it works on other android tablet.

Did you check if you're device is google play certified? If yes, check settings and permissions. If it doesn't help, try to factory reset the phone and set everything from scratch.
I don't have the button for the verification from the play store, but only an application verification
But you do see "device is certified" under the Google Play - Settings - About?
I can't turn on location history either. It just has in Italics "Location History is off"
Can't select any toggle to turn it on.
In play store it shows my Device is certified.
History works fine on my other devices.
Live View for walking directions is also always greyed out on my Vivo for some reason.

Inspecting the issue thoroughly, I found that the location history actually doesn't work. The reason that I was mistaken is the fact that I use a dedicated car dongle in order to have Android Auto. And all time history I have has been plotted with this device. Last month I was travelling and got zero timeline.
I tried to enable it and totally failed. As it can be seen from the attached picture, my phone is not and can't be included in the location history.
I searched the web and found the probable reason. Chinese Vivo doesn't have full Google framework, only basic. Hence, it can't communicate with Google servers in full. That's why we can't make backup as well.
Actually, I don't miss the location history on the phone that much. But if someone is interested, there is an instruction to enable it here:
[FIX] [All Amazon tablets] Enable/Fix Google Location Services [MARCH 2019]
****UPDATE MARCH 7, 2019:**** If the guide below doesn't work for you, see additional instructions at the end. This seems to be a huge problem for many users...location services not working when the Google Play store is installed. I have found a...
forum.xda-developers.com
Of course, it is for a rooted device. But there is a slight chance enabling it without the root. The most important is getting the full Google service framework to the phone.
Otherwise, I guess, we are out of luck.
The non complete framework is the reason why many google features don't work:
- android auto;
- location history;
- google backup;
- "OK Google" voice activation.
Thanks for the explanations on the problem.
I tried to download the apk files.
Already the first on the list does not install due to a security exception.
I also tried to download the latest versions but I have the same error.
Any solution without Root?

How To Guide How to fix "Access denied" screen randomly appearing on rooted devices

I could force the screen by rebooting or by changing the device's language. Using:
Code:
dumpsys activity activities | grep "mFocused"
via adb showed it was com.android.samsung.dkey which opened an activity of com.samsung.android.carkey (com.samsung.android.dkey/com.samsung.android.carkey.ccc.ui.IntegrityCheckFailDialogActivity)
Apparently there was a Samsung Wallet Digital Key update (probably v1.0.08.11) which causes it after a reboot as well as randomly every couple of hours. Disabling "Appear on top" for Samsung Wallet Digital Key fixed it for me.
Uninstalling the update isn't a good permanent solution and you can't disable the app without root (meaning you probably don't want to disable it as it maybe could cause other issues). It can affect any device that has a tripped Know. Even formerly rooted devices running stock with a locked bootloader.

Had this error on my rooted S21 Ultra as well, i went back to stock but this error appeared. Thanks to this thread i solved it. But you can delet it without root.
Thers an Windows App called ADB AppControl. there you can simply uninstall Samsung Wallet Key app.
You are unable to use it, so delete it. Nitification never appeared again

You actually can fix it without root: "appear on top" can be toggled which fixes the problem. No need to disable or uninstall it. I tend to not deactivate or remove apps that are non-user removeable as I had bad experiences with spammed logs and high CPU usage due to Java errors
Good point with the Error logs
You can fix it by removing Digital Key app from system/priv-app folder. If you're rooted of course.

Yes, but just disabling "Show on top" is easier and safer. From my past experience speaking: removing system apps that often talk to each other and require certain frameworks inside apps, it may lead to permanent log spam and high CPU usage due to dozens of system calls that go unanswered.
The stock system often isn't designed for core apps being missing. That's why disabling apps is imho better as it hides apps from the system but still allows other apps to use their existing frameworks.
The benefits of "removing" apps e. g. via debloating with Magisk is not worth the issues that could arise. It's especially not worth it if the solution is to not let the app show that message at all
Thank you so much! Had this issue since a few days on my S22 Ultra after updating all Samsung apps via the Galaxy Store and these random popups were driving me crazy.
Freeze samsung wallet digital key from titanium backup is work for me
i have the same problem, i don't know which application is causing this error, how can i remove this error screen. my phone is s21 ultra and i have knox triggered but no root device
Cihazım rootlu değil.
please help me this access denied error keeps popping up on the screen and i can't find which app is causing this error i reset the phone but the result is still the same my phone is android 13 without root solution and help please
You are a lifesaver!
I'm on stock, but I have rooted my phone before so my Knox is tripped. I got this message every time I tried to do anything Samsung-software related. It was worst when trying to use my camera, popping up all the time.

You can follow the instructions without being rooted. Disabling "Appear on top" for Samsung Wallet Digital Key fixes it.
@Macusercom i love people like you when sharing even a little bit of knowledge that makes so difference! thanks man!
I just rooted my newly bought Note 20 Ultra 5G today, this message kept popping up. Actually, it started happening as soon as I unlocked the bootloader, even before rooting. It seems that just doing that is enough to trigger it. And no matter what you're doing, it will hijack it to show this message. It was driving me crazy for a few hours until I found this thread. Disabling "appear on top" works 100%. But in a few days it won't matter anymore, I'll be moving to an open source GSI ROM. Then I won't have to deal with messages like this spamming the crap out of the phone.
Samsung just needs to f off, at least we're still buying their devices. They're ours, we should be able to use them how we want. The bastards already have our money, yet they still want to do things like this to us.
Hey guys, please i am having this error since I upgraded my S20 Ultra to Android 13. Plus the Phone des not recognize my sim card anymore. I don't have this Samsung Wallet app neither. Can someone help please ?
Yup same for me, cant find this app.

Question Google play store on chinese rom

How can I install the play store on the Chinese rom? I've tried downloading it from APK mirror and it says "Couldn't sign in There was a problem communicating with Google servers. Try again later." I've tried clearing the cache and no help.
Solved! "Google basic services" has to be enabled. It's found in the drop down menu within apps management in settings.
Just install it from the ZUI Store app on the tablet. You might need to use a phone camera to help translate..

I just flashed the stock chinese rom from the global rom. I actually figured it out. There's a setting in the app management tab in the settings where you have to enable google services. I had installed play services, google play store, chrome, etc... Factory reset a few times too. But I was poking around the app management and was looking at system apps to see if something was disabled that I needed and saw "google basic services" as an option and I was able to turn that on, and everything works now. So I hope if anyone else has that issue they come across this thread.

I used APKMirror installer. downloaded the play store APKM for arm64-v8a (nodpi). For google services framework i used the 190400 variant.

Toggling this on and off seemed to fix an issue for me where I couldn't push the "Sign In" button to log into Google Services on the first Play Store run.

It was late at night, I meant to say Amazon Prime. I assume it works but I thought I read on some Chinese roms that Netflix works but Prime Video doesn't. Hopefully I'm wrong, it's annoying if a device has Widevine L1 but some apps still don't work.
