Question Downgrade from 13 to 12.5 to TWRP - Xiaomi 11T Pro

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help, as I don’t want to brick the new 11T pro Global Version Miui 13.0.3latest unlocked bootloader.
Ideally I would like to root but TWRP not working apparently on 13 so I want to downgrade to last stable MIUI 12.5
I checked the antiroll back and they appear to be all set at =1 which means flashing will be possible.
For some reason my PC wont run Flash.all.Bat file and I haven’t tried the Mi Flash tool as I don’t want to relock the bootloader or to brick.
Any proven methods that I could execute ?

yes,
be sure you see the bottom of the MiFlash program.. set the display resolution as high as possible to see the options
be sure to check the CLEAN ALL (left side) before you click the FLASH button ..
the default MiFlash setting is always CLEAN ALL + LOCK !

Mi 5 from GearBest with fake ROM (7.3.8.0) and locked BL

Hi.
I bought my Mi 5 from GearBest and it came with MIUI 7.3.8.0. I'm new to Xiaomi phones, so bear with me please!
I was trying to update it and I found out I should flash the fastboot version of the Global ROM (8.0.2.0). But to do that, I believe I need to unlock the BL. I asked for the unlock permissions, got them. When unlocking, I get an error "Couldn’t Verify Device". I found out it might be related to the fake ROM situation.
To go around, I discovered I could use EDL to flash the ROM, but apparently after 7.3.?.? it has been disabled by Xiaomi. Even tried to put EDL into the phone through ADB but it failed. Also tried to use Mi PC Suite, in both English and Chinese, to flash recovery and none of them worked. In the English version, it says I have version 7.2.4.0 and tries to flash a Chinese 8.0.12.0 version (see photo attached). One time it even completed the procedure in the phone (bar went all the way) but now the phone doesn't boot (bootloop).
I'm not one to give up, but I'm running out of ideas! Please, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Yes, of course. That was the first thing I did. As I mentioned, it failed with the error message in the OP (or similar, I tried everything so the message might be close).
Bootloader can't unlocked with a "shop rom".
You must first install Global Dev or China Dev ROM.
As far as you can boot the phone into the "pc suite" mode (power on phone with volume up key pressed), you should be able to flash to global dev with latest pc suite version.
Follow this guide: http://www.gizbeat.com/10386/xiaomi-mi5-unbrick-after-bricked-from-failed-edl-flash-method-2/
Progress bar in the pc suite software is a joke, wait at least 30 minutes.

I managed to finish the update through the recovery flash in Mi PC Suite, now I have 8.0.12.0 MAACNDI, which I would think is a Chinese Developer version. I still can't unlock, neither update through the app in Android and I can't find a way to flash a different version with Mi PC Suite, it just says it's updated.
Sorry, just noticed that your phone is already in bootloop.....same happened me, I think the progress bar on the phone is only indicator for the file copy from pc to phone but NOT for flash process.
As mentioned, same happened me. I solved that with a "deep flash" cable http://xiaomitips.com/guide/miui-deep-flash-engineering-cable-solution-to-non-edl-device/
With the deep flash cable you can follow this howto http://www.igeekphone.com/flash-miui-global-stable-rom-on-xiaomi-mi5-running-china-stable-rom-tutorial/
You need to scroll down to the howto for locked bootloader.

Really? Thought you have bricked you phone
8.0.12.0 MAACNDI is china stable, just download Global dev fromhttp://en.miui.com/download-299.html and copy it to your phone or download it direclyt on your phone.
Then start the ota updater app on phone, click the three dots in the top right corner, there is should be an option "choose update package" or so......... and just pick the downloaded ota file.

Me too! But I run it one more time and it finished.
The CN in 8.0.12.0 MAACNDI means it's China, but I saw it's actually the last one. I tried to do what you said but with Global Dev and it said "Can't Verify Package"... I'm now downloading China Dev, should it be any different?
I updated from global stable to global dev, so maybe it is not possible to go directly from China stable to global dev.

Stable flash rom. once you have flash the stable ROM redo the same manipulation to associate your miui account. download miuiunlock tool wait 15 days or a month depending on your location. Note Unable to enable USB debugging because of the geo restriction use a VPN to unblock. if your anti roll back and is level 4 then please download the image file call dummy.img take one of the redmi note 5 it works on the Xiaomi MI6 X. bypass anti rollback with the image file and after you can work and so install n any rom. I mean any rom I tested it myself and I approve it. Xiaomi is a real hassle for the bootloader. There is too much cellphone theft in China so Xiaomi multiplies security

Plug your phone to a pc, open whichever folder you have adb and stuff installed in, hold shift + right click to have "open cmd here" click it, via cmd do
Fastboot devices
If your device shows up, do
Fastboot oem unlock
Fastboot flashing unlock
Fastboot flashing unlock_critical
Each one of these will reboot your device after you swipe to confirm, so to make sure it reboots in bootloader hold down Vol - after you confirm unlock

Idk why people use MIUI if it causes problems to their phones because Xiaomi pretty much puts a lock on devices and other **** in the name of "security" because of supposed phone theft in china
As soon as ARB was a thing everyone should've jumped ship and stopped using that rom

I never tried. Normally it should work. if you have access to the fastboot mode then you can try. Normally the file is used to bypass ARB 4. The purpose of the img file is to register your CMD. the simplest for our super mid 6X would still be to use an EDL cable available on Amazon for the price of 10 dollars. if you flash a new ROM then think to erase the udapt firmware folder.

How to change the MI 9 chinese version firmware

Hi all,
I plan to go to China very soon. And to buy a MI 9 (probably the transparent version - 256GB). I was just wondering if it is possible, as of today, to replace the Chinese rom with the EU one.
What are the pro and cons?
Thank you all have a nice day!

hello there!
First of all - Yes, it is possible to replace chinese ROM with EU one. I myself did that on mine and my wifes phone. A Friend of mine was traveling from China to Europe and I got mine phones before european premiere. In order to do that - you will have to unlock the bootloader (fairly simple if you know how to plug USB cable and install one program on the computer) which usually takes about 360 hours. After that - you can flash global ROM, or any other.
Pros - You don't have bloatware from China, no chinese adds, some of the system itself is missing in chinese version (but the phone is fully usable anyway)
you can use xiaomi.eu ROM, which has improvements from community.
Cons - Not sure about warranty after BL unlock, or is the waranty is global.

You will brick your phone, if it's not stock rom and you relock it! If you go full stock and relock it works great.
Can you provide the most up-to-date guide to switch the rom from the CN to EU version?

Just the bullet points, basic knowledge of android needed
1) set up your phone with Xiaomi (register mi account, link the phone with it, log on the mi page and see if everything is in green - passwords, phone number, etc)
2) download mi unlock tool. No need to register or write petitions. just download and run
3) switch off phone. turn on phone while holding the volume down key. It will run in fastboot
4) connect with PC. press unlock on the unlock tool. Confirm 2 warnings (5 secunds pause for each), and look at % meter going up to ~99%. Then you will have information that You need to wait 360 before unlocking the phone
5) wait 360 hours --> 15 days. Use phone as normal until that time.
6) make backup of the phone (Mi cloud backs up sms, call logs, etc).
7) run the unlook tool again, turn the phone to fastboot more (point 4) and press unlock. this time it should go all the way to 100%, stating the phone is unlocked.
8) [optional] the phone will reboot, but you should keep the volume down pressed, to enter fastboot once again. Once in fastboot - you can flash TWRP ( with the help of minimal ADB, there is a guide for it)
9) [optional] once TWRP is flashed - press power, the phone will shut down. then restart the phone, but this time volume UP.
10) [optional] You will enter TWRP recovery. Things to do:
- wipe data (to remove encryption)
- connect the phone to the PC, set the phone to "mount" mode and download apropriate ZIP file to the root folder of the phone
- flash the ZIP
- restart
NOTE, that You will have to login with MI cloud login and pass after boot loader unlock.(first time the phone starts to MIUI). Usually the password is enough, as the phone will discover your phone number. I had some difficulties with it, as I had the alerts in chinese You should have wifi avaliable, as I am unsure if you can connect in this moment via cellular network.
hope it helps.

Bands are hardware related, so after flashing global ROM you won't have B20 avaliable.
Other bands will work, so it is possible that You will have LTE in your country, depending on the bands used by your carrier.

It's safe if you use TWRP since your bootloader is still unlocked, if you flash using mi flash make sure you choose clean all, do not choose clean all and lock (always check before flashing your rom), your phone will be bricked.

So in other words, you can flash mi9(china) with the global rom but you must never lock the bootloader as it will brick the phone.
Only lock the bootloader if the mi9 is on china rom. Is this correct ?

In theory - all above is fairly safe.
You will brick the phone, if you chose to "lock" your bootloader after doing all activities from my list.
don't do that, and you should be ok.

General What not to do with China ROM

I recently got the phone and i have the China version 12/256. Here are few things to take care:
1) Install Google Keyboard first before debloating system apps using adb.
2) Very Important: First update the phone to latest firmware (12.0.13) before you toggle the OEM Unlocking option in developer settings. If you dont update first and have the option toggled and try to install an OTA update the phone will just bootloop unless you clear the data and sign in with mi account again. This will reset the 168 hours time in the software. So always update the phone to latest update.
3) If you are using google pay, go to nfc settings and change the wallet from Mi Wallet to HCE Wallet.
4) The stock TPU cover is loose on the sides. I dont know if its just mine. But better buy another case from aliexpress.
5) DO NOT install global stock rom through fastboot or mi flash tool. It just wont work because of the different versions(regional) of phone. Only install xiaomi.eu ROM using the guide from a post on xda because the install script knows which version your phone is and installs the appropriate system files.
@ingbrzy can you confirm that? :

It is safe to install. haven't installed it yet but read on forums that it is working.
so I guess
1) unbox your phone
2)update to latest software via settings.
3)factory reset device after that.
3)request bootloader unlock.
4) after 7 days, unlock your bootloader and tooggle that OEM unlock
5)follow instructions on xiaomiEU rom.
is that safe enough? Lmao
PS:
6) Find EDL support near you

3) Enable Developer settings, Developer Settings> Toggle OEM Unlocking

5) Download Mi Unlock Tool, Login to same mi account > Turn off device, Hold Volume Down and Power Button ( you will see fastboot screen)> connect the device using USB, You will see the device, Click on Unlock button.
6) It will show wait for 168 hours to unlock.
7)Do not sign out/ change mi account on device or toggle the OEM Unlocking option. If you do you have to start from the beginning.
If you dont see your device in Mi Unlock tool install adb and fastboot drivers.

Got it !!!
fantastic guide! Thank you !!!
I have flashed mine , it looks fine
Need some more time to evaluate performance
First boot takes awhile , don't panic or remove the cable!

My friend doesn’t matter how long it takes to boot up.....as long as you not in fastboot after restart
It seems to be working fine but I need to go outside and test the 5G and 4G signals are still as good as before
It's definitely feels much lighter and smoother
WhatsApp notifications are working properly
There's much less apps in the drawer, Chinese was very bloated , now there's not a Chinese app or character to be found!
Also banking apps are working fine!

Please post the instruction how u did it. With full info
Just downloaded and install it from a Windows laptop
You have to wait 168 hours to unlock it and then open the phone in Chinese language to get to the developer options again before you flash , you need to enable usb debugging again!!!
You will need wi-fi to get back in because there's a security check after unlock, it maybe in Chinese but you will figure it out
I had never used a Xiaomi phone before this one , there are literally no downsides anymore....
I'll update if I can find something that doesn't work

Can you explain the technical reason and the source of the information when you claim that you must update to 12.0.13 before toggling OEM unlock.
I started my unlock last week and I have 12 hours left. 12.0.13 was not out last week. So, obviously I toggled it before that.
Can you explain why 12.0.13 specifically is required before toggling OEM unlock?

Because my phone went into bootloop. I updated to 12.0.10 and then toggled the OEM Unlocking. While i was waiting for 168 hours, i got 12.0.13 OTA update and i tried installing it. Phone restarted 3-4 times and took me to recovery. I then wiped data and it started again with a factory reset. So iam just warning people to get the latest update before doing this. Also, i do own a POCO F2 Pro and i am quite experienced with flashing ROMS. Developers always ask you to update to latest firmware before flashing as the new ROMs are based on latest firmware.
Xiaomi.eu is not a custom AOSP ROM but just a word of caution.
Sounds like after OTA 12.0.13 phone should be a factory reset it

The toggle is nonsense
I toggled mine on and off a few times yesterday waiting for update 12.0.13 when I was on 12.0.10
It still unlocked like a charm today

Question Camera won't focus

Hey everyone. I'm hoping you can help me out
I have a mi 11 running 12.5
The main camera will not focus on it.
I had this problem before, and doing a reset fixed it, but now it is permanently not focusing.
I don't know if I'm SOL or if there is something that can be done
Even if I try manual focusing it doesn't do anything
Try to download" MIUI hidden settings" in AppStore
With that u can calibrate ur camera
On mine calibration always failed
Try to wipe the cache of the camera app
If you can, just try other rom like MIUI dev version or MIUI eu.
Or just flash latest MIUI rom again via fastboot and pray for good luck.

I want to install MIUI EU rom but I can't seem to get MIUI Unlock to ever recognize my phone being connected to try to unlock it.
This is like the 8th Mi phone I've had since the Mi 8 and I've never had this problem

Try using the original cable that came with the Mi 11 and avoid plugging it into usb hubs
I remember i had once this issue with my pixel 3. i just dropped my phone on a book for not damaged it, it was my lens that was blocked.

That seems to have done it
Now to wait 3 more days before I can unlock
I can't seem to find a stock 12.5 chinese rom on the MIUI site to try flashing through Fastboot

Not needed. I came from Global and a friend from EEA ROM and both work fine. Just don't re-do the procedure again before the timer runs out, otherwise you need to wait again.
Just wait for the timer to run out, unlock your phone and use the latest fastboot-ROM from Xiaomi.eu
Welp... finally got the bootloader unlocked, flashed back to 12.0 instead of 12.5 and it's still borked
Guess it's time to throw this on eBay and see what I can get with a wonky camera
