Question Bootloader Oneplus 10 Pro - OnePlus 10 Pro

I was able to upgrade to the full version of the zip, I would like to know if I can lock the bootloader to use the NFC functionality. Can I block or will I have a problem?

Don't lock your bootloader when there isn't an MSM Tool available. If anything isn't totally stock, you will instantly brick the device. Since you said that your device has been converted from ColorOS, the possibility of that is higher for you.
Follow the root guide.

To use NFC for gpay, just use zygisk on the latest Magisk 25.. I've been using it whilst rooted since I got the phone.

Android Pay on OOS Open Beta 17

I am currently running OOS Open Beta 17 on my OnePlus 3t (Android O) and I am unable to use Android Pay because it says my device is either rooted, running a custom ROM or has an unlocked bootloader. I really need to use Android Pay. Any help appreciated. Cheers!

Well, maybe because your phone is either rooted or your bootloader is unlocked ?
If you are using SuperSU, I think you can't use Android Pay: you might need to use Magisk to bypass SafetyNet and use Android Pay.
As Magisk isn't compatible with Android Oreo for now, you can't use Android Pay while you are rooted.

You don't need an unlocked bootloader to run Open Beta. So there is no reason to think that OTA would be affected by locking it.
Be aware, I believe locking bootloader will wipe the phone.
Looks like Magisk is my only option. I just rooted my phone using superSU. Can anyone help me with a Magisk rooting guide (for OOS open beta Oreo)?

Here you go;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/magisk-oxygen-os-8-0-op3-3t-t3689901
I'm not exactly sure if the boot image comes from a verified source or if the changes are non malicious, but many users on that thread confirm that the Boot image is from a pre open beta package. Try this method at your own risk.
Cheers!
You can use SuperSu SR5 with suHide to pass safety net. SuHide - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/suhide-lite-t3653855/page64
SuHide doesn't work, checked yesterday. Even though it does hide root from Android Pay, it cannot hide bootloader's unlocked status.

Is there a risk associated with running on SElinux permissive mode 24/7, or is it not unusual for people to do so? Does a regular Magisk installation, on Android N for example, change your SElinux mode to permissive?
Thanks.

There is a risk on running an system with Permissive SELinux, and it's considered a bug when it's Permissive in a ROM.
And nope, a normal installation via any custom recovery, or via ADB, of Magisk will not change your SELinux mode.

Yes. If you use the Mi Flash Tool do not lock the bootloader, you will brick the phone. Make sure you choose the 'clean all' option.

You can get the latest fastboot ROMs from here

If you change your mind and want to go back to the Indian ROM get it from here

You will need to view the page in desktop mode if viewing on a phone. Make sure you change the flash option in step 5 to 'clean all' before flashing.
Here's some detail from the official forums on when you can and can't lock the bootloader when cross flashing.

Global here means all versions that are not China.
Many users have cross flashed Indian phones with a Chinese ROM. The only problem will be if you forget to change the flash option and lock the bootloader.

Use this guide for flashing the MIUI 12 beta ROM.
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=1
Again it needs to be viewed using desktop mode if on a mobile.
I'm not sure if you can flash directly over Indian MIUI, you might be able to. To be safe you could fastboot flash the latest China stable ROM first. Or ask in the MIUI 12 beta thread if it's safe to flash directly over Indian MIUI, maybe someone has already tried.

The Mi Flash Tool always defaults to 'clean all and lock', which will lock the bootloader after flashing. You MUST change this to 'clean all' before flashing, otherwise you will hard brick the phone. If you remember this, then it's safe, if you forget then it is not safe.
Because you can not lock the bootloader with the Chinese ROM installed, SafetyNet will fail and banking apps will not work.
In order to get around this you will need to install Magisk.
This guide tells you everything you need to know on passing SafetyNet and getting banking apps working.

Hello, how do I root my new phone, Xiaomi Redmi 9T? I'm a beginner, please give thorough instructions on how to install TWRP and install EU rom. I know that I can search but I want to be sure. The best root method I have used is Magisk, if you are using the stock ROM, you can install it by patching boot.img, you need to unlock bootloader first.
You can extract the original boot.img from the fastboot ROM tgz package.
If you are using a custom ROM and TWRP, you can flash the zip package in TWRP.

Question [Question] Is Realme 8 Pro rootable?

I've been waiting since its release to be able to root it, there are some tutorials online but they look sketchy and I dont trust them.
The only one I would trust is made by the magisk team but it has a link that says "cooming soon" when you try to download the Realme 8 Pro stock rom, which is also not present on the official realme website.
This is what made me skeptic: how can the youtube indian guy have the stock rom meanwhile neither the official website and magisk have it? is it worth to give it a try or if I mess up I wont be able to restore my phone? has anyone tried to do so? which tutorial should i use?
At this time there is no solution to root realme 8 pro, in-depth test app is not working with this device so far, firmware is not avaleble to download (from a credible source). We just have to wait, i don't know for how long, i just hope devs will find a solution in a shot time.
Is fileload.coloros.com trusted??
First the bootloader "can" be unlocked and this is the primarly thing to do.
Secondary rom images allready exists.
https://oppostockrom.com/oppo-realme-8-pro-rmx3081
http://www.frpbdteam.online/
Zip and opf's can be extracted .... So boot (kernel and ramdisk) can be modified to work with modified Magisk and all other needed things (Bootloader unlock, FRP, vbMETA, Verity ...) to gain root.
Regarding recovery and flash via current recovery the things are not known yet, also custom recovery options.
Update: Will be very hard to participate for this device ...
Yeah

Stock ROM is here
There are available stock roms, update OTA's but to be able to flash, root ... first the unlock bootloader should be available. Since the HAL is missing from the fastboot and the bootloader is still locked the only thing is to flash is original stock ROM.
Secondary AVB check, meta, recovery, boot, FRP and other things should be done also.
Currently the MSM flash is only available for signed and official files, also MD5 checked flash files.
There is no working piece of tutorial to obtain any of it. Some partially and also magisk patched boot allready done by me, but cannot flash it to test and prepare other needed steps.
Recovery is original, there is no log or cache log currently available to check.

2. There is only one custom ROM. It is the Xiaomi EU ROM and available on that forum or via mifirm.net

Awesome, thank you kindly for that great reply,
2) is that custom Rom any better than stock or has some sort of advantage over stock? Extra features, programs, tweeks...?
This custom rom come pre-rooted?
3) i don't need root for anything in particular, I've always had root on every single Android I've ever owned, once in a blue moon it comes in handy, i do plan on using magisk,
- from memory mine came with Android 11 Global, will twrp work on that?

2. We call it "custom" but it just stock miui China rom of 11U with some mod for working in global area
As u know if u unlock phone, some app will not work normally (like banking, Google pay, Netflix...) they already fix almost all of the problem like that. And every default app can be uninstall easily (but xiaomi already have the way to uninstall thêm too).
And it isn't pre-rooted

yes. u can always comeback to stock with flash fastboot rom (or recovery rom with working twrp)
i prefer fastboot rom because i just think it's cleaner than recovery (LOL)
And with fastboot method, u can relock bootloader if u want, just need to carefully pick the right rom of your phone original. (eg: global unit can only relock using global rom, eea with eea rom, CN with CN rom)

You're misinformed.
They offer the official rom, all they do is to pack it in a fastboot installer.
Again, official rom, repacked. I'd advise a fact check because you are active in answering people, but your knowledge is obviously partial.
