Added option to switch position of back button in navbar
More info:
One of the problems when making the current themes was to decide which colors to use for the highlighting.
Not everybody likes the classic holo blue or the newer whitish look. I also didn't want to maintain seperate themes to cover all colors of the rainbow.
So from 2.7 on, the Black, Dark and Light theme give you nine highlight colors to choose from - in one skin that is.
Besides white, the colors are a mixture the darker shades of android colors (blue, green, orange, red), the google colors (dark blue, greener green, yellow) and AOKPink:
The theme settings are accessible from the main menu. The selected color will be applied to the basic stuff, like the tabs, file and folder icons, checkboxes and radio buttons.
But for some users, that might not be colorful enough. So you can go ahead, and apply the highlight colors to other parts of the UI as well:
Of course these options also include the actionbar.
In the end, users are able to choose a color - and have as much of it as they like.
Misc settings include an option for centering the clock, switching the position of the navbar buttons around (apply samsung layout) and to use the Aroma File Manager instead of the TWRP file manager.
FAQ
THEME FAQ
What's the difference between the dark and the dark_minimal theme?
The minimal themes only have one highlight color (dark holo blue).
The main advantage of the minimal themes is their reduced boot time compared to the multicolor versions.
They're ment to be used as base for porting or creating other single color versions.
Can I use this theme on my *devicename*?
Most likely yes. The themes can be used on any device with the screen resolution the filename of the theme suggests.
For example, the "1080_*variant*.zip" can be used on any FullHD device.
When I reboot to recovery, the theme isn't applied. Any ideas?
This is most likeley due to wrong naming of the theme folder or the ui.zip.
Make sure the folder is named "theme", without capital letters.
Also check if you accidentally renamed the downloaded zip to "ui.zip.zip" (common pitfall when renaming the zip in windows explorer).
When I reboot to recovery, I get a "recovery bootloop". Is my phone broken?
Nope, this is most likeley due to a bad download.
Please download the theme again using another browser or app. For instance, ES File Explorer's build-in downloader has proven to be unreliable for the dropbox links I provide.
I like what you did there, but can I has more/other colorz?
Colors are a matter of personal preferrence. I try to keep the themes neutral, and the colors used are (mostly) in accordance with android design guidelines.
For other colors, you'll have to modify the theme yourself. I will gladly provide the source file for the images to everyone interested.
Will you make a dark/black Play theme?
No, because I don't want to maintain more versions of the theme. But everybody is welcome to contribute to the thread...
Will you help me to port my favourite other theme to device XY?
No. But this guide provides insight on how you can do it.
RECOVERY REPACK FAQ
What version of TWRP is the repack?
Always the latest available for a certain device.
As I don't keep track of all TWRP threads, please remind me if there was an update for your device.
I'd like a repack for *devicename*, how do I make one?
Download and unpack Android Image Kitchen.
Unpack the zip.
Download the zip containing the custom curtains (splash images).
Get the recovery image you want to modify from the TWRP download site.
Copy the recovery image to the Image Kitchen folder.
In windows explorer, drag & drop the recovery image on the "unpackimg.bat".
Unpacking will create two new folders (ramdisk and split_image).
Rename the splash of your choice to "curtain.jpg" and drop it into /ramdisk/res/images.
Hit "repackimg.bat".
This will create a "image-new.img", which you can then flash away using your preferred method.
My preferred method for installing the recovery is GooManager, so how do I flash this .img thing?
Use the theme. It now supports direct image flashing from the install page.
Via Fastboot. Most useful to know how to (especially in case things go sideways).
Via app. For a variety of devices, Flashify has proven to be a good app for flashing recovery images. It's under (very) active development and I highly recommend to give it a try.
Alternative apps (can be device specific): SGS4 Flasher, ... (please help me to populate this part)
AROMA FM
Download this flashable zip.
Flash the zip in recovery.
It will copy the flashable Aroma FM package to \TWRP\aromafm.
Go to "settings" and tick the option to use Aroma FM.
Profit.

I'm having issues trying to get this to work on my Nexus 4. I have 2.7.0.0 TWRP so I downloaded the 768_dark_kk and the theme will not work. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. The TWRP directory didn't have a themes directory so I made one, copied the theme zip to the directory and renamed it ui then rebooted to recovery and no theme.

Surely a naming issue. The folder name needs to be "theme" - singular.
If you have renamed the zip in windows explorer, please double check if it's accidentally renamed to ui.zip.zip.
Almost everytime one of both is the culprit.

[NST/NSTG][Theme] Status Bar Modification [Apr. 4]

Welcome to the offical Status Bar Modification Theme for the NST! Encompassed in this theme are three mods:
• framework-res.apk, the file which contains all of the images most Android devices use in their user interface.
• ReaderRMSDK.apk - the stock B&N reader app.
• Shutdown Images - the images the Nook uses when it is either shut off or booting up.
Let's get right into it!
Features
ReaderRMSDK.apk
• All of the battery icons in the status bar are upright, not sideways (more Android-looking).
• The non-charging icons have black bars instead of just a long black strip to show the battery status (for easier reading of exactly how much battery life is left).
• The GlowLight symbol is modified to look like the "brightness" symbol - when the light is on, there are little rays around the circle, and when the light is off, the little rays are absent.
framework-res.apk
Changes are the same as ReaderRMSDK.apk except for:
• All battery icons are white-on-black, instead of black-on-white (because the stock Nook reader's status bar is white, opposed to the device's being black).
• I also modified the WiFi signal icons to appear like the cellular-data bar graph style icons {which is what Windows 7 uses for WiFi (which is where I got the idea)).
framework-res.alt.apk
Changes are the same as framework-res.apk, except that the Reading Now button has been changed to a NoRefresh button. It can be used properly by installing Nook Touch Mod Manager and assigning "Reading Now" to NoRefresh.
framework-res.alt.batterypercentage.apk
Changes are the same as framework-res.apk, except that the status bar battery indicator now uses @vikramam's JB Circle Status Bar Battery Icons so that you can see the exact battery percentage remaining on the status bar.
framework-res.alt.batterypercentage+graymenu.apk
Changes are the same as framework-res.alt.batterypercentage.apk, except that the settings backgrounds have been changed from white to a dark gray to fix the white-text-on-white-background issue that occurs in several places on the Nook. This mod came from @nmyshkin and @mergen3107 in this thread - thanks, guys!
New Features:
• Edited Back, Menu and Notifications buttons
• Edited Settings and Search QuickNav buttons
• Edited Settings and Search headers
Shutdown Images
• Changed the "Read Forever" text in booting.pgm to "Rooted Forever".
• Changed the "by Barnes and Noble" text in all of the shutdown images and rendor-0.png to "powered by Android".
• Changed all of the text in all of the shutdown images to be in the Continuum font (the XDA logo font)
• Changed the boot animation dots to a sliding black bar.
Hardware Requirements
These files were edited on a Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight using firmware 1.2.1. Please don't try this on on other firmwares. You can use this on a plain NST without GlowLight.
Installation Instructions
• framework-res.apk - replace existing in /system/framework.
• ReaderRMSDK.apk - replace existing in /system/app.
• UPDATEDimages.zip -
booting.pgm belongs in /boot, which is not mounted by default on the Nook but is mountable through the command line.
The images in the shutdown_images directory in the downloadable .zip belong in /system/assets/shutdown_images.
The images in the boot_images directory in the downloadable .zip belong in /system/assets/boot_images.

Sweet, I'm going to try this. What theme are you using for ADW?
ADB Tip
By the way, for framework-res.apk, you CAN push it to your device with ADB if you want to, but you CAN'T push it to /system/framework. It will bootloop your system.
Try doing:
Code:
adb push framework-res.apk /sdcard
Then, on your Nook, copy the framework-res.apk from /sdcard and paste it in /system/framework. It won't bootloop, it will just instantly reboot itself with the new framework-res.apk being used.
For ReaderRMSDK.apk, just do:
Code:
adb push ReaderRMSDK.apk /system/app
adb reboot

The Minimalist theme, with the Nook-N-on-black as the wallpaper. Cool, eh?
And let me know what you think!
This is excellent, I cant wait to test it! Thanks!
SBM Theme is now being used in @yattaro's and my 1337 ROM project, so go check it out!
NOOkie, as i am already on your 1337 ROM, i am assuming i don't have to replace the framework apk's from the OP.
Will installing only the batterypercentage apk replace my battery icon ?

If you are already running my ROM, to get the battery percentage version of this theme working, all you have to do is download the .apk, rename it to framework-res.apk, and copy/paste it from your sdcard to /system/framework (don't adb push it there). Your system will auto-reboot and use the new framework.

How You can Mix & Match Your Own C o f f e e
1. download & install apkeditor from playstore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.heagoo.apkeditor&hl=en
2. download latest Coffee.apk from OP / post 1, and other additional apk from menu
3. rename additional apk => example: qs_clear_25.apk become overlay.coffee.qs.apk
* add "overlay.coffee." in front
* remove file name from first underscore ( _ ) onward, you just need the first word
4. open apk editor, select Coffee.apk, and choose menu 2 ( Simple Edit (FILE REPLACEMENT))
5. open assets , scroll down to bottom and find overlays you want to change (example: overlay.coffee.qs.apk)
tap the pencil icon beside it, and choose the apk you've downloaded & renamed with same name.
6. click Save ! and your own Coffee is served as new apk
7. open Theme store, delete existing Coffee theme if any, and install new customized Coffee.
8. apply Coffee Theme ~ most of the time you won't need to reboot, but if you find theme layout or color to be incorrect, you'll need to reboot AND re-apply Coffee theme.
F. A. Q
Q: After install this theme it doesn't show in samsung Theme store ?
A: try to install with theme store opened (open theme store, press home, install this, open theme store again from settings ~ don't use recent apps)
Q: how to prevent theme revert to default, after 10 minutes or after reboot ?
A: use this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73317476&postcount=2264
Q: how to uninstall this?
A: apply other theme, go to this theme and Delete, reboot.
Q: how to update this theme if there's new one or new coffee blend ?
A: delete this theme then install the new one. If previous theme is Coffee then you don't need to reboot, unless some module/menu shows need reboot
Q: After reboot the notif text is dark
A: re-apply the theme

im not worried about security however it is suspicious activity in my opinion, its just an inconvenience having to remember the overlays you've installed when they don't even appear in the app list, also having to carry around a copy of the theme incase i want to change anything (which will uninstall all of them at the same time)
i do not mean to sound ungreatful... great work you have done however everyone has different tastes i'd like to customise parts of your theme with my own personal one... i will ask again is there anyway to change it so they appear in the app list if installed seperately?
~Thank you
