Question Update changes version from NE2210 to NE2215 - OnePlus 10 Pro

Hey all,
I have a NE2210. It is completely stock. Update notification came up and installed it and now the model is NE2215.
Is this a common thing? Did my device change due to region on first setup or something?
Wondering if this is having an affect on all the bricked devices

No it's not normal.
Did you change region or buy your phone from a non official reseller?
If from OnePlus then that's odd

I bought it from a reseller. Original sealed box, all stickers and pre update say 2210.
Then oos update in rom and changed to 2215
can someone do a fastboot getvar product
mine is coming up as taro. i thought it should be negroni

it's not original. 2210 is supposed to be color os, whoever you bought it from installed 2215 on it.
similar thing happened to my 9RT when i converted it from china model to india model.

Yeah I figured that, but I checked about info before update which said 2210. Which is why I was confused. Note on listing says "Note: CN ver with Play store"

I think you got had mate, if it's pulling a different model then it's not what it should be...
My guess is it's a Chinese or otherwise.
Either way, not original

Taro is the board name. https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/11890462
It's probably a 2210 that was crossflashed with 2215 firmware.

Doing hours and hours of research and fact digging, I guess either I've read the wrong things, or haven't found the right thing to read, but my question seems simple enough.
My Phone: AT&T LG V40 Thinq
Software Version: V405UA10n
Android Version: 8.1.0
Kernel Version: 4.9.65
Build Number: OPM1.171019.026
Android Security Patch: March 1st, 2019
There appears to be no known root for this device, I actually paid OneClickRoot to root my phone, and received a refund just as fast. In my looking around, I noticed that you have to have an unlocked bootloader to be able to root your phone, now with this being said, the European model: EU LMV405EBW does have the availability of an unlocked bootloader and the availability of root.
I downloaded the kdz of the EU LMV405EBW and before I go jackin everything up, I want to know if it's at all possible or "just a given" that since the phone can be unlocked, will my US AT&T sim card work in the unlocked EU version of the phone...?

AFAIK, i still not find any dll and lgup which compatible with lg v40.. it makes me sad since i still not be able to flash the phone which stuck in december 2018 security patch (HK version). So, we might have to wait until someone comes up with an idea which i doubt they will cause this phone is soo underrated.

I had a similar situation, I had a lm-405ua that I wanted to flash to a TW 405ebw firmware. I used the information from https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/guide-lgup-root-t3967858 and all went fine.

Hi. I'm having the AT&T version (LM-V405UA). Can I cross-flash firmware on this model? If so, what kind of firmware (name, type) should I need to pay attention to? Thanks.

You can read the link above I provided on info regarding cross-flashing using LGUP.
In terms of what you flash, what is the problem you are trying to solve by flashing a different firmware? In my case I wanted a regional firmware that supported voice over wifi with my telco.

.153 update available in UK yet?

Hi,
I'm on Vodafone in the UK and seeing people getting the .153 update, but not sure if it's available here yet. Can anyone confirm?
It's not available officially, but I installed the L29 update using the USB otg method and it works fine. Now on v153 on my VOG-L09
Im on v124 on EE i have heard that EE still havn't even had any newer version from Huawei yet so sounds like it will be a while.
Andy how is it you have updated? if i updated to 153 like you have would that mean i probably wouldn't get any updates from EE again but could always update in the future the way you have described?
Also does it keep the status of phone as official?

did you have to wipe your device?
I updated using the L29 firmware posted here https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...orial-vog-l29-flash-firmware-153-usb-t3928793
The L09 firmware is not available yet.
Phone status is still official and model number still VOG L09. Not sure if it makes a difference to future OTA updates.
Unfortunately it does wipe the device but easy to restore in hisuite.
The process is straightforward using a USB stick and a usb-c OTG adapter.
>> Screenshot >> https://ibb.co/s63v4Km
As above, carriers haven't been given the update from Huawei.
I updated using the OTG method. As above it'll wipe, but if you use a large enough USB OTG stick then you can restore the backup from the same stick.
I got mine sim free UK module update today via the suite software
removed
Did you see a change log ?
Would be nice to know what changed.

I received the latest update yesterday.
Purchased Sim free in the UK, Vodafone Sim card.

Baseband N690NKOU3ASG1

The box still had the retail seals on it? Then your device maybe brand new. In which case I would return it to the retailer and ask for a replacement.
I cannot return beacuse , i bought it from Dubai and i am in India. Thats why opted for firmware updation.

You can try reinstalling the stock OS back onto your device using Odin and see if that helps.

Did flashing the stock firmware help ?
FOUND the answer
I HAVE found the source, i have a phone with same exact situation as the person who started this thread and i did some investigating and i found out my model is actually the korean variant of the note 9 single sim converted to duos variant F model with dual sim tray installed, meaning if you go to download mode you will be greeted by Korean and once you press volume up, you can see in the top left that its actually SM-N960N variant, but if you check the imei in the phone it will say its the F variant meaning imei have also been changed.
So if you flash stock rom you will lose dual sim status and probably enjoy korean language on the welcome page on loading up the phone and might even lose 4g 3g connectivity cause korean 4g/3g bands are different compared to india.

This is a risky procedure, we may loose our imei numbers or lose 4g connectivity, so for now ill stick with this rom, flashing the stock firmware and then upgrading to android 10 and redoing the entire conversion again from an N variant to an F/DS variant might be an option but that requires tools and skill, that is not easy.

No, you won't as the Korean N960N is essentially the same as the N960F (single SIM model). They are both GSM devices and will run on any global GSM Cell network. I have a N960N and I am using it on a Hong Kong Cell network and I get excellent coverage.
Also you can change the language during the Setup process, I believe it is on the bottom of the screen. I can't remember as it has been a while since I setup a Note 9.

Issue being we might loose our changed imeis if we flash stock firmware because the current imeis are not the original imei for the N variant but show up as F variant instead.
Hello, I have the exact same problem as the two of you above.
My question is have you found a way of updating to android 10?
Did you unroot the device or is the device still rooted?
If yes, how did you do it?
And is the device functioning properly?
I have this exact problem too. Is there any solution. Cos this OS I'm using is frustrating me

What options do we have in order to update to a later version? Is it possible to flash a stock ROM downloaded using Bifrost, and will that have any impact on the IMEIs and serial number? Can Knox be 'untripped' or the phone unrooted?

Question S21 Ultra no Android 12 Update

Hi guys,
I know this was asked, but my case in kinda different.
I have UK version of the phone, BTU and CSC seems to be correct, as others that complained about updates not being pushed had CSC EUX.
Though phone is from UK, it was purchased in Malta as local network operator, not locked or branded to their network, as there is no FW for Malta, they simply get UK unlocked phones.
Any idea how to get updates?
Shall I flash latest FW with odin? Thanks...

Yes you need to flash it with Odin because EUX is a dead circuit.
Thanks. Will do it definitely.
But strange enough is that it's showing BTU not EUX, at least on screenshot.
How stupid is this thing that they kill your phone for updates... :/

I had that issue when i started my phone first time when u purchased it, i use no SIM and that caused the phone to capture EUX CSC instead of NEE (which is the SW for Nordic countries) .. I had to return the phone and i bought another one.

Question How can i get a full global rom for NE2213?

My phone originally had NE2213 global on it, i decided to switch to the EU version but i want to revert it to stock and lock the bootlaoder. The issue is the OnePlus are only releasing incrimental update zips for the global so I have no idea how to get it back to origianl firmware. There is no MSM tool or i would use that. Ill also say that it does not seem like OnePlus longer care for the community and its sad to see. I am running update A14
NE2213 is EU, not a global device. If you want it stock, that's the software you should be running.
That said, without an MSM Tool available, I would just leave the bootloader unlocked. If anything goes wrong, you have a brick otherwise.
when i got the device it literally said global rom everywhere and looking online there is a global for the NE2213 as well as EU. my phone literally came with a US charger and the 65W charger which is not EU
