i only can use 1 side of the tray
this is not good i need both sides
any solution please
buy a dual sim phone. ne2215 is single sim only
Per my understanding, NE2215 is the same HW and should have dual sim. The only difference is the SIM card tray.
Does anyone have the dual sim card tray and can try it out on the NE2215 ?
It would be difficult to find two people with different (regional) versions of same phone in same geographic area
You can try getting one from Aliexpress and try that yourself.
Not fully sure the 2215 comes with dual modem to be honest.
Do you actually see two IMEIs on the About>Status page?

Agree, been trying to find just that actually and could not yet find a sim card tray that fits OnePlus10 Pro for sale.
Even with single IMEI, there are some old phones with single IMEI that work for MultiSIM. Agree, it is better to have dual IMEIs on the phone. But, i think it is worth trying if we can find a dual sim card tray to try on NEE2215.
No IMEI no party

no you don't. You likely have a NE2210 with NE2215 installed. NE2215 doesn't physically have the contacts for a second sim

that doesn't mean anything. the model number on that page can be changed. go look at your box
You got the same version like me. NE2210 with flashed NE2215 Rom to it. But I have a dual sim tray and can also use both sim slots
I have NE2215. Got a dual sim tray from aliexress and installed indian ROM (NE2211). Still it does not show the second sim in settings. although if I look inside the sim slot, i see golden contacts on both sides. any thoughts?
EDit: I have managed to get dual sim support but need to fix the second sim IMEI. Which is currently null. thats why sim not working yet.
I rooted, then used magisk module to edit the build.prop for enabling dual sim (dsds).

today i gave up. i have done following:
converted to Indian ROM = 2211
rooted.
enabled dual sim support.
inserted dual sim tray.
added second imei for second sim. (No error but nothing happens. Imei remains null).
Result: Second sim is never detected. Although phone has the electronics inside for second sim.

Hi
I have the Normal 64 GB N950F Verison of the Note 8. Does anyone know if the DUOS Dual Sim Mode would work if you flash the DUOS Fimrware or maybe
it will work out of the Box if you have the DUOS Sim Adapter ???
Would be great to know that.

Nope that is not possible coz of firmware specifics and hardware mismatch. You would be bricking your $900 device by doing that

Sorry but your totally incorrect.
You can flash F firmware on an FD and vice versa. I did it lots of times on my dual sim note 7 and s8 plus as well as flashing FD firmware on my single sim s7 edge
To put it bluntly the dual sim and single sim firmware are the same thing and can be cross flashed without issue.
That said if you have a single sim device and think flashing dual sim firmware will give you dual sim capability you are very technically challenged lol.

They're not 'the same thing' or you wouldn't see any difference from flashing one or the other. However, you are right that you can use either one on either device (including N firmware on the F/FD devices and vice versa as they are all physically the same components).
If you are already rooted, the only thing you would need to do to swap to dual sim is buy the dual sim tray (I think they have some on ebay now), and replace your existing lib-sec-ril files under /system/lib and /system/lib64 with those from the dual sim model, as well as add the dsds RIL file if it is missing (my 950N didn't have it). The lib-sec-ril file seems to ignore your build.prop setting as mine is set to ss (single SIM) and swapping to the 950 FD RIL library automatically switched my phone to dual-SIM mode upon bootup.
Hey Guys
For now i am not rooted on my Note 8 just wanted to know if this would work. To bad no one has tryed before i searched also for some S8 Threads etc. The Problem is there is no SIM Tray from the DUOS
Version available to buy. At least i haven't found one yet. That was my intention to test this out i think that would help many people out there.
UPDATE:
Great thanks for the Tip i searched now in Ebay.com there are some Dual Sim Note 8 Sim slots available from china. I will order some and than i hope there is some more Custom Roms out and maybe some tutorial available

Won't be possible.
Even if you get the SIM tray and pop 2 SIMs into the phone, the board is different, the EFS partition is different and there is only one IMEI on the N950F whereas the DS model has 2 IMEIs.

You cant compare an ancient device (still have my note 2 though) to current state.
Alot has changed, some good...some bad lol
Any news on it?
Someone mentioned he tested with dual sim tray, he changed the sim card to another slot, it's working.
Probably, the hardware is totally same,
I remember there is some dual-sim version, but same model SM-N950F in some country.

Probably, firmware will check the model and pop up the sim card management
it's not as easy as just popping in a dual tray and 2 sims, I've tried it, with sim in tray 2 it looks like connected to network but does not receive calls, you would need to find out how to either enable second imei if it is already there or apply one, and DON'T just use the same for both sim slots if you like your phone, not in Europe anyway

I can't that 100% that it WILL happen but it is definitely a big risk as it could look to the network providers that 2 different numbers are using same IMEI and then automatically get blocked, ALL EU mobile service providers share the information so even if you used sim cards from different providers you could see the imei blocked within a few days

Greece Cosmote might not be included in the partnership between the mobile service providers, there is a reason the dual sim phones have 2 imei numbers, I'm sure you can make it work but why run the risk and use same imei when you can buy an old phone for at tenner and use the imei from that

Number means IMEI,
I asked same question today, they said it's much easier to copy the number from sim 1 to sim 2, they probably can finish the job in 30 mins.
So far they can NOT assign a different number to sim 2 only, if you need different number for sim 2, they need connect to some box and some server to register the number first, could be 3 days.
The BIG issue is both the number of SIM 1 and SIM 2 will be changed, so you will lose the warranty.
And the second way needs more money, would be five times or more.

Okay...I assumed you can change the efs if you already rooted your phone, but I didn't test, just need keep samsung pay.
It's too technical for me, sorry.
are there any real differences between the dual sim and single sim? besides the obvious 2 sims vs 1 sim difference lol.
what about differences between the models (clt-al00, clt-l29, clt-l09, etc)? if it helps, I am in the USA and T-mobile. I am just trying to find the best one that covers most bands if not all and prefer dual sim. any advice and help is appreciated thank you in advance
Yes there is a difference.
The difference is one accepts one sim card and the other accepts two sim cards

Thank u for ur reply.. But I have already stated the obvious 2 sims and 1 SIM differences. Anything else besides that?
It might be possible that the only difference is the card slot. It might still work with 2 sim cards with the right sim card adapter for two sims. Afaik it worked for older models.

I have some relevant questions/thoughts on this. I noticed that some phones are listed as having band 41 and some are not (on eBay, varying model numbers of this phone). Now that T-Mobile might be roaming on Sprint and visa versa, band 41 does actually make a difference since the OP is using the phone on T-Mobile. Does anyone know if this is just a mistake on the listings? The official Huawei site lists band 40, but not band 41.

Band 41 is listed as well at least for some models. https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/6fe84965 another good site to see the difference between the different models is http://www.phonemore.com/huawei-p20-pro/models/1817 this one includes the different models, not all though as CLT-L04 is not included, and their specs including the bands for each of the different models. Some of them even support CDMA so in theory should be compatible with Verizon or Sprint.

CLT-L04 is intended for the Canadian market. L29 is not so it may not have the LTE capabilities in North America while L04 would.

Just wondering will dual Sim adapter work with single Sim phone? No software that indicates any Sim settings
Single sim doesn't get updates.
I'd like to jump in here. I just got the CLT-L04 today. I just started working for a Canadian company this week and I will be stationed in the US in Atlanta. I want dual SIM capability so that I can keep my personal phone number but not have to carry 2 devices. he SIM card tray only came with the ability to support a singel SIM card. Can I just order a dual SIM card carrier? is there anything special I need to know or do on the phone to support dual SIM's?

You need to convert your phone to dual SIM variant using paid software (which may require a bootloader unlock code that Huawei no longer provides) and then use a dual SIM tray.
I did the above and my single SIM phone is now a fully functioning dual SIM phone. There's really no difference between the two variants other than software and that tray. The tray alone will not work.
Hello,
I am willing to get the new Xperia 1 II. I am living abroad, and for many reasons, I kept my native country's sim to keep my line open. Currently, I own two phones to have both lines up. But this new Xperia seams to be released with a variant getting dual sim feature which is what I am looking for so I could replace my LG V20 and LG G8 for this amazing phone.
I read online that this phone comes with different variants:
XQ-AT51
XQ-AT52
XQ-AT72
SO-51A (NTT DoCoMo)
SOG01 (AU/Okinawa Cellular)
On this website https://www.xperiablog.net/2020/04/...eria-model-number-structure-for-2020-devices/ they tend to say that this XQ-AT52 model would be the dual sim variant, but I cannot find any online resources to confirm this.
Is there anybody who knows yet what is the dual sim variant so I don't get wrong while ordering?
(I really hope it's not only the korean version to get this dual sim variant...)
Thanks!
Hello,
I come back to you guys to have some updates about this topic since now they released the phone and preorders are available, maybe someone has some details about this feature.
I really want to know if the variant sold in Europe is supporting 2 sim.
On GSMArena, they list the phone as Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) but on sony.de, sony.fr, sony.it they list it as SIM NUMBER
Single SIM.
On B&H bhphotovideo, the phone is proposed as Sony Xperia 1 II Dual-SIM 256GB Smartphone (Unlocked).
Why would they sell a dual sim capable in America and a single sim in Europe?

The model selling in Taiwan is XQ-AT52 with dual sim ( 5G/4G compatible ).
If you put 2 sims, it runs in 4G mode, 5G is only working when only one sim card inserted.
5G I only works with 1 SIM card inserted? That's not very good design.
Also, can you please try to switch between SIM card for data, does it require a reboot to active? I used to own Sony phones and they all require reboot when switching between SIMs, which is very inconvenience.
I use other brand dual SIM phone now and they don't require reboot when switching between SIM.

Normally it should work as previously it was like that.
but the SIM holder looks different to Xperia 1 dual Version
You don't need to reboot to change or swap sim, that's what i heard and that's why you don't need a pin to open the tray.. you just need to pull it.
I guess the tray for single sim is different but software is different too.. means software can handle dual sim..
I know some people with Samsung single sim model, they put 1 sim in tray and stick the second sim on the microsd. It becomes a dual sim with micro sd.
But you have to be very good to unstick the sim from original card and stick on the microsd without damaging your sim
HI all
has anyone found a way to keep both the Sims running even when the 1st has 5G on.. Like let the 2nd sim run at 4G or 3G atleast.. but why does the 2nd sim has to be off or go off when the first one runs at 5G.
I keep wanting to use 5G at all times on my first sim.. but why should my 2nd SIM stay off. this is mind boggling why would SONY implement this on a Premium Flagship while others Like Xiaomi and others have better sim management options even when 5G
this is the only thing stopping me from getting this phone although i love it.
on a separate note.
Also someone has any idea if the Special Frosted edition of this phone releasing in Japan with 12GB RAM will be dual or single sim ?
Can anyone help I have bought an s21 ultra off very and it's rhe above model but only has a single sided sim? In the mobile phone part it shows sim one and two and e sim
It's definately a UK model - as it shows on the box
I wanted a dual sim and that's why I bought it is it an error in manufacturing or is it something new?
I am sure very buys from UK sources so I dont know what on earth is the issue
Any ideas or what I can do? Do I find a Samsung experience store and take it there?
Thanks
The simcard tray supports two sims on your model, a SIM on each side.
The SIM contacts should face you.

Well that's rhe issue the rear of the sim tray isn't the same as rhe other side.... It is not a sim holder
It's a genuine handset with genuine serial as I can register the warranty with Samsung UK
It's also UK model from the box
So I've no idea what's gone wrong I've ordered a new sim tray. Which should work and escalated it to very as to what the issue is
Huh, interesting.
The trays I'm used to seeing do not look like that - this is what it should look like:
Single SIM model trays don't look like yours either.
Odd!
Check the Knox status in Download mode for peace of mind.
Perhaps this is a refurb with a third party tray(?)
Also, dial: ##786# click "View" and see what it outputs for "Reconditioned".

Mine is a direct from Samsung UK 998B/DS with the above dual sim card holder.
Looks like you somehow got the tray for the US version, or you have a US variant with mis-matched firmware if that's even possible. Might try and find a dual sim, or just use eSim on your primary.

Looks like you somehow got the tray for the US version, or you have a US variant with mis-matched firmware if that's even possible. Might try and find a dual sim, or just use eSim on your primary.

Ah amazing looks exactly like yours I've ordered a dual sim off amazon just annoyed but mine is defo UK version so looks like samsung cocked up on building
Thank you so much for solving this for me
I was just wondering if there is any software blocking the Dual-SIM capability or if its really just the dual SIM tray being replaced with a single SIM tray.
Could i just buy a dual SIM tray on ebay and it work?
Very very hard
No. I don’t believe the 2215 has the contact pins for the second sim
Think this has been discussed a dozillion times before.
And, no, it cannot be done.

Then you don't have a 2215. 2210 with 2215 flashed has dual sim working
regardless of the pins, there would be no actual modem.
Try searching the forms, this has been discussed a dozillion times.
