So, when I backed up my phone before unlocking bootloader I backed it up using google, xiaomi cloud and backup and restore in the about phone section, ONLY the backup and restore had the themes backed up, but when I import the themes from the backup it doesnt do anything, no themes show up in the themes app, please help
is there maybe a way to manually import the themes? I have access to the "Themes(com.android.thememanager).bak".

Root your phone with magisk.
There is a module named 'GlobalMIUIthemepatch' which helps you to patch your thememanager to Chinese version which has an import option.
Flash it and You can manually install .mtz themes of your choice.
The module is attached below

You can manually download themes from chrome which are in mtz format. They are better than those in themes app.
And you can try using VPN and setting china as your region and try to download

If I down load a rom and open the zip file can i just goto system/apps and delete and install .apks and then flash that rom? I was wondering so i don't have to delete them after install.

Depends on what your deleting and adding, if your just deleting and adding apks to the system/app dir you should be ok (normally) . If you want it to stay as an update type zip it'll need to be resigned.

U can Add and delete what u like but if u do u have to resign the rom before u can flash it.
If u download avabox2 (can be found on xda via a search...its free) it has a folder in there called autosign. Put the rom in there rename it update the click on the sign file. It will sign it for u automatically. Then u can rename the signed rom whatever u like. Just no spaces in the name. Then it can be reflashed.
sweet thanks. Just thinking about starting to make my own roms and this seemed like a good place to start

Ported theme originally created by Kalagas for Milestone. So all credit and thanks go to him for giving me permission to port it.
Some parts of the theme may be from other themes but I've had them that long I can't remember who created them so if the creators recognise them I apologise in advance and hope you don't mind me using them in this theme. If this is breaking any rules I apologise and understand if you have to remove this theme but I would be grateful if you could let me know who I need to ask for permission to post this theme.

You need to completely remove Launcher Pro then install the launcher pro apk file. It's an apk file not an install zip so you need to copy it to your SD card then use whatever file browser your using and install the apk.

If your downloading LauncherPro-0.8.1.1.apk it is an apk file, it can be opened with compression software so the icon might look like a zip file but it's not.
Try it this way if you have adb installed on your computer
Open the Command prompt window for ADB. Copy LauncherPro-0.8.1.1.apk to "android-sdk-windows\tools" folder.
Type
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/app/*Launcher*
adb push LauncherPro-0.8.1.1.apk /system/app
exit
Reboot phone.

Maybe the "save as file type" somehow changed to .zip instead of .apk
Glad you got it working though

Yes it is if you know to make a cwm zip .or if you dont, download a cwm flashable mod and edit it for your work
Download 7 zip you can use it to edit files without unzipping. Use NotePad ++ to edit build.prop and pretty much anything else for that matter

You can use 7-Zip to add or remove file from the cwm zip. You can also edit the script (text) file in it.

Remember some of the apps have the associate library files. You need to load these files into the system/lib folder before the apps can run.

Hi, I want to know if I can rip the AOSP gallery from a installed ROM (or ROM zip).
I also need the editor to work.
Who can help me out on this matter?

For ROM zip you would need to unzip it using 7-zip, then navigate the system/app folder and find what might be a folder called "gallery" everything you need should be inside that folder. For an installed ROM just use a file explorer app and navigate to the system/app folder then copy and paste the gallery to the root of your internal storage. All this assumes the gallery is in the same location as the photos app is on my stock ROM.
Awesome, found it.
I usually backed it up using ES Explorer, but that broke the editor.
The lib folder is now included, so I should be good to go. Will try later!
Thanks!

The unzip will not completely work with the changes google is making. The newer compiled roms are compiled into images and not like they used to be.

Forget about ripping it from a sysimage. Install it as an application from specially modified sources;
https://github.com/lbdroid/android_packages_apps_Gallery2
Or if you trust me, binary; https://github.com/lbdroid/Android-Binaries/blob/master/Gallery2.apk

I already encountered the image thing you both mention.
Luckily I was able to pull it from the installed ROM.
Got it working now. Editor works just fine.
Last thing though...
Each time I hit the edit button, the pop-up for "select action" shows up. It only displays the editor to select.
Is there any way I can get rid of that?
Setting a default action for it somehow, somewhere?

I was able to fix the problem in previous software version using the files from another thread in same section. But after updating software to 8.0.0.126(c636), now I can't fix it using same files from previous thread.

For ALP-L29C636
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fh9cpipxjp2k6ud/L29C636_data.tgz?dl=0
Move file to phone, use file explorer to move file to /data or use mv command below
using terminal: (Terminal emulator or your choice from the play store)
su
mv /sdcard/L29C636_data.tgz /data/
cd /data/

Try this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74692542&postcount=8 (only themes)
Or the one I posted above
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75146353&postcount=7 (full hw/public data, not tested but should work.)
this is my solution ( made by me ) after trying many solutions over this forum @ other forums
just
1- delete any folder for themes u made (as hw_init or themes in root folder or at any site )
2- make folder & name it ( HWTHemes ) in internal memory
3- download this folder & put it inside (HWTHemes )
4- go to themes app and chose ** Aqua theme ** & apply it
5- no need to change any permissions
this was try on huawei y 7 2017

Easier way:
Flash ALP test twrp from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/huawei-mate-10-pro-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3769904 (fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp_alp_test_0.1.img)
Download Public and HW zip from hwmt (http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/)
Search for your full firmware including build (ALP-L29C185Bxxx)
In the FullOTA row click on the "file list" link, copy and paste link for update_data_full_public.zip and HW data for L29 into a new browser tab so it downloads.
Boot to TWRP and flash public zip first then HW data zip.
They will throw some errors but flash fine.
