Hello, XDA! - Introductions

Hi, I'm a newbie who's interested in what an android phone can do. I'm currently debating whether to root it or not, and if I should get a custom ROM.

[Q] Advice for tattoo flash and root

Hi guys
My friend has bought a tattoo and wants it rooted and flashed with a custom rom.
It is a UK phone locked to orange.
What I want to know is what would be the best way to go about this and what would be the best custom rom to use?
I am not familiar with the flashing process but will pick that up.just reading up on gold cards etc
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Hi guys, got a few questions...
1- my note is not rooted but i plan to root soon so i can put on a custom rom which has longer battery life
2- if i root, does anyone know if sky go works on a rooted note yet? if so, how do you go about it?
3- whats the best metiod for me to root and install a custom rom? i'm currently on 4.0.3, my note was from t-mobile here in london if that helps.
i dont have to much experience with rooting, i rooted my htc desire hd last year but have forgot the process.
4- once i root, whats the best way route to take for installing a custom rom? and anyone know a good rom with good battery life at the moment?

Different custom has different method of flashing rom. So best thing to do is go to the devs custom rom there is procedure there on how to flash the custom rom.
This i recommend, pick lrg v4 not the lr1 v1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1579301

[Q] A newcomer with a P970.

Greetings. I have recently acquired a LG Optimus Black P970, and managed to root it with the superuser thing (V20C). A friend of mine recommend ed me to use the CyanogenMod 7.2 (CM7,2), but he wasn't able to explain me all the advantages that doing this would bring me. So, could someone explain me what are the advantages on CM7.2, and how may I get into Recovery Mode without connecting the phone to the computer? Much appreciated.
Regards, Daniel

Why there are no ROMs for Desire 628?

I've already accepted the fact, that I bought a wrong phone and i won't be able to install custom roms like lineage os or cyanogenmod, etc. But I want to know why? Here on xda nobody even knows about desire 628, and I have to write in 626's forum.
Same reason there are no roms for the 626. Not a popular phone and no developer interest. Also most if not all 626's sold in the USA are locked down variants with rooting a mixed bag of results. My VZW 626 is rooted but that is the extent of any mods that can be done with it, No roms for it.
