Question Dowgrading back to MIUI 12.5 - Redmi Note 10S

MIUI 13 is a huge disappointment for me.
It's stuttery, sluggish, way slower and dark mode practiacally broken with a lot of apps.
Read through forums to find a way to downgrade but I'm still confused.
I don't want to unlock my bootloader just to downgrade my phone. All I want is to downgrade back to the official MIUI 12.5 (12.5.18.0.RKLEUXM).
Can I use this method?

actually i agree with u, i wanna downgrade my miui too. but i don't wanna take a risk that my phone could be bootloop or someting.

most likely you can't

Pretty sure EEA because the MIUI version is "13.0.1.0(SKLEUXM)"

Man you would need the fastboot tgz format, MiFlashTool and a bit of patience

If there is no ARB,
Unlock the BL, flash an older rom via fastboot

it really dissapointing.

Try to flash Miui Dev-Rom but without success

...I am trying to flash the latest version of the MI9 Miui Dev-ROM but get always the massage
" You're allow to flash the newest dev version publishedby Miui forum from stable version only"
currently I am on V10.2.12.0 on my global Mi9 (bootloader locked)
Any idea how to change to the Dev-Rom
Thx for your support!
If I'm not wrong, you have to unlock the bootloader first and then flash it.
Thx for your reply, but ROMs released from Xiaomi don't require an unlocked Bootloader..... Normally!

Nope, going from stable to dev needs unlocked one......at least with my recent experiences.

Taken from Xiaomi official side:
Note: You can upgrade your phone by Local Update method without unlocking your phone. The method suits for the situations listed below for sure: Update to Global Stable ROM from Global Stable ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Beta ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Stable ROM and vice versa. If you encounter the issue that the reboot page keep loading for a long time after flashing, you can choose to wipe all data via entering Recovery Mode. You can turn off your device and then hold both Volume+ button and Power button at the same time to enter Recovery Mode.
I think the problem ist an other one.
You have not the real Global Rom - its the GLobal EEA Version - some like the Russian or Indian Version of MIUI.
This time the also release e EEA Version for the European Mi9's.
It could be that there never will be a Devloper Rom for Mi 9. So it musst be called MI9 EEA Global beta.
I think the real Global Version will be released later for markets like Malaysia or Hong Kong.
Dont like that, cause im also effectet, but i think thats it These time.

Make sense, as there is an "EEA section" with a stable ROM on the MIUI page and a "global section" for the Dev-ROM...means I need to wait until I can unlock my Bootloader to switch!?

Yes but be careful, if you Flash via unlocked Bootloader you can't relock. if you do, you get softbricked.
Also with unlocked Bootloader you cant use GPay without Magisk and with Magisk ist also a bit tricky These days.
And i also think without Global EEA Rom you will los Widevine L1, but i cant confirm this, but i think so.
So better you wait to see if there will come a EEA Global Beta or you better stay with the Stable one.

11.0.3.0 Mi9T Pro OTA update

Does anyone else received this update on the Mi9T Pro? I have an EEA version and the update just popped up today. It looks like the update to Android 10 and miui 11 in one go. Just wanted to know if anyone else installed this. The current version is good enough for me now not keen on the update, specially if it brings bugs.

Yes, me too, going to install it later today, when I'm off work, make sure you do a full twrp backup first.
Yes, I saw on a facebook group that some EU users already got it. But no feedbacks yet.
Still no OTA for global the version.

i've updated it. How can i disable vibration after i kill app from recents?
Installed and rooted via patched image a few hours ago and everything is working smoothly. The setting menu is much more streamlined and the fingerprint scanner works much better now! I haven't installed TWRP since I don't know which version works, maybe someone here can share which version works for them.

Wait for the official Global update. Flashing different versions can seriously mess up your phone.
Guys, i'm on MIUI Global 10.3.3.0 (Stable) right now with an unlocked Bootloader & root (twrp & Magisk).
When the MIUI 11 update arrives (Germany), can i just OTA update or do i have to do something specific?

Update your device, especially if it comes from official channels!
I understand that you are a little reluctant to install it, but rest assured, I have been a beta tester for miui 11 for this device, they have squashed lots of bugs.

First I would like to thank you your comment and advice. I was planning to upgrade but not just yet. However I don't think you would have to be that drastic and your comment may also scare others.(don't have to be a scaremonger) No one will hack my device or steal my data just because I wait on an update?!!
I have already tested miui11 on my prev k20pro and I found lots of bugs. I know this is an official update, but we all know this can still be full of bugs. I do like xiaomi (otherwise I wouldn't buy the mi9t pro) specially because they provide frequent updates. However this isn't my first xiaomi device and taking my previous experience with buggy updates I just wanted to be extra careful before rolling out the update, mainly because my BL is locked and couldn't flash the downgrade immediately if I find the new version unusable.
Luckily others already provided positive feedbacks so I'm sure I will do the update shortly.

based on my exp, if you using twrp you must clean (wipe system and data) install the miui 11 zip file because miui 10 and miui 11 are different android based. will be much problem if you just flash the zip file without wipe the data partition.

If you change ROM branch ( move from your Xiaomi EU version to any other, EEA, Global, Stock Chinese etc etc) you MUST format data after flashing or you may find you get stuck in a boot loop until you do. This is due to possible partition differences between the ROM branches.

Question Mi11, EU or Global ROM? Which is better?

Hi,
Just ordered a Mi11 from China, and I would like to flash it with a global or EU stock firmware.
Would you recommend the Global or the EU one?
I am not a customer rom type really and I would just like to have the phone as close as a stock firmware experience with google services, OTA s and all.. although I understand it will never be perfect since the boot loader needs to stay unlocked.
Is it just a matter of unlocking BL and flash it with a stock firmware found here https://c.mi.com/global/miuidownload/index, am I right?
Thanks

I'm using MMX MIUI 13 latest beta build with some app updated from miui stock apps group and I have the new widgets and phone is very responsive and good battery performance. After I unlocked the bootloader I downloaded the fastboot rom from their site and just flashed every straight forward and easy. Just remeber to format data once you do the initial setup I'm case you have issues with storage permissions. So basically after you flashed go through the setup screen don't set it up just finish a quick set up and go to settings and format again through settings after it's done just setup device like you would normally do.

So you must said EEA, not EU for don't create understanding problems.
Be careful because you have a Chinese model, so don't relock bootloader (if using MiFlash) because by default MiFlash apply option "Lock & Clean". Each time you'll use MiFlash, be sure to select on the right bottom just "Clean all", never lock with a another ROM model than Chinese. If you lock bootloader with a EEA/Global ROM, you will brick your device.

Many thanks for that, worked perfectly on my mi 11
Got the phone yesterday but the first impression is quite bad.
Poor build quality in my opinion and the battery is laughable.
Had a realme x2pro for more than 2 years and still going very strong, built like a tank.
Anyway, started bootloader unlocking countdown, only 150 hrs left

Question Flash MIUI 14 EEA beta or stay on Xiaomi.eu ?

On one hand it looks like EEA has finally catched up with most of the missing features from Xiaomi.eu/China(see PS) and you're also getting Android 13, easy OTAs, ability to lock the bootloader and a whole bunch of optimization and new features from MIUI 14. And a bigger support community since it's the official ROM after all. And access to even more BETAs since Xiaomi.eu doesn't do betas on this device
On the other hand, all of this will come to xiaomi.eu when the stable's out anyway. And it will probably be even better than stock. And there still might be a few missing Chinese features that will never be added to EEA/Global.
It's really mixed for me tbh. What do you guys think ? What are you going to do ?
PS: I know there's no China ROM for 11T Pro, but Xiaomi.eu actually ports Chinese features even without the Chinese ROM.

Better time to stay on the Xiaomi EU rom and keep the advantages that do not exist on the stock (call recorder, Full themes, etc.).
On a stock beta version you can have bugs, sometimes not too serious or sometimes you will have to downgrade.
When it comes to stock ROM support, you will only get answers if you want to buy a new phone.
I had the 11 t pro but disappointed with the autonomy and I replaced it with a 12 pro which initially had less autonomy than the 11 t pro with A12 but A13 corrected this problem.

I'm getting around 6h SOT on my device...which I also think it's kinda mediocre. What about you ?
What if A13 fixes battery on 11T Pro as well.
AS for tech support, I guess the stock has a bigger community where I can find the issues easier. But the xiaomi.eu community is much nerdier, so it depends lol

My SOT is never the same, what I see is that since A13 I charge my phone less often and I've gone from 24 hours to 30/36 hours.
Many report the improvement in autonomy with A13.
"AS for tech support, I guess the stock has a bigger community where I can find the issues easier. But the xiaomi.eu community is much nerdier, so it depends lol"
On Xiaomi Eu rom you have to be precise and make a logcat for bugs.
Yes, but I'm getting older and contrary to most of this community, I don't like tinkering with my device that much anymore. I see that MIUI 14 introduces most of the features that I loved from xiaomi.eu and I'd love the comfort of OTAs, safety and no headaches due to having an unlocked bootloader and just generally, the ease of use of a stock device with no sort of tinkering whatsoever. And just easier back-ups. Also, I'd like having beta access to Xiaomi since xiaomi.eu has none for my device
Now, I'm wondering if flashing using the official xiaomi tool will just lock bootloader and fix/restore everything to stock.

Hi, I had quite a nooby question, I have an Indian variant of 11T Pro which is running on its latest Indian variant of MIUI, can I relock my bootloader during flashing of EEA variant of MIUI or will that brick my device? Not sure if this the correct thread, I'm sorry if it isn't, didn't know where to ask this question. Thanks

On this device (VILI) you can re-lock the bootloader with any stock fastboot rom with Miflash.
