Question Bluetooth issue with Car - Vivo X Fold

Hi,
I am having some issues when I talk with people thru my car's bluetooth.
When I start a call, after a random period of time, the people that I speak with are telling me that they are not understanding my voice which is becoming like a robot. During these calls, if i change the sound output to my phone and revert back to car, my voice is becoming clearer but it is happening in almost all my conversations.
Did anyone encountered a similar issue or know a possible fix?
Thanks,

No issues here

This one is okay it's my first case.
Feels plastic~e (if that's even a word.. ) but hey whatever protects the most expensive phone I've ever bought. Only thing I don't like is the hole for your fingerprint.

if anyone alse encounters bluetooth issues with phone calls / car. When you use stock Phone app you dont have this issue. Also you can enable bluetooth gabeldorsche from developer options to ensure smoother bluetooth connections...

Callers deafened by ringtone when I answer by Bluetooth

Anyone else got this issue and is there a new bluetooth stack or something to resolve it?
When I click the answer button on any bluetooth headset (currently using the iqua solar powered one), the sound is temporarily diverted to by mobile before the bluetooth properly picks up, and also during that slugging moment, any ringtone playing is diverted to the caller's earpiece (i.e. sent out by my mic).
One caller complained it had nearly deafened them.
Anyone able to help?
Having the same issue with my parrot bluetooth and my Tilt
Can someone purrlleeeease help with this issue? I am now scared to answer any calls, lest I get shouted at with, "GOD WHAT WAS THAT NOISE? IT NEARLY DEAFENED ME!"
You really haven't give a lot of info here.
I mean what Rom are you running, what BT hardware and reg tweaks do your use etc.
Info is required to be of any assistance.
Note my signature shows exactly what Rom(s) I'm currently using.
Many thanks. Here are my versions:
HTC TyTN II
ROM: 1.0 Sleuth
ROM date: 08/28/07
Radio version: 1.27.12.11
Protocol version: 22.45.88.07H
Essentially I think a new Bluetooth stack might solve it, but I really wish to avoid losing all data by flashing a new ROM altogether.
A new Bluetooth stack on its own would be wonderful... or a way to restore my data back to a newer ROM. Would Sprite Backup do that if I use Sleuth's WM6.1 ROM?

I know the commercial version is supposed to support "Rom Upgrade" support but I'm not sure if that is in the version that is floating around the forums.
What you can do though is make a backup prior to upgrading.
Then upgrade to test if the problem is fixed in one of WM6.1 roms.
Then downgrade and restore your back-up.
Now you will know if there is even a point to expending the effort of trying to extract the BT Stack.
Don't take offense at this next statement but if you put forth that effort it might endear someone more skilled to your cause as you've provided a "Proof of Concept" so to speak.
Okay I have just upgraded to Sleuth's v3 (WM6.1). Sadly the bluetooth issue remains, despite the new Radio version.
If someone calls, and I answer using the bluetooth headset, for 1 second their audio is output to the speaker of the Kaiser. I believe it is during that second that they also hear the end of the ring tone, which is what deafens them.
An unsatisfactory workaround is to use a quite ringtone or vibrate only, but that is hardly ideal. If anyone knows of any other solution or a bluetooth stack that is a bit snappier when answering via headset, it would be great appreciated

Same issue here with the same new ROM.
I'm having the same problem. When I push the button on my BT HF it gives a horrible noise to the caller at the other end for a second. In my case I doubt it is ring tone, it doesn't sound anythin like the tone I'm using, it's just like loud crackling or smth.
I can't give you any version numbers cause by TyTN II is sent off to warranty (3rd time already). This time it stopped accepting and making calls while showing 3G symbol. Previously I had band selection on auto and had no problems. Now even after hard reset no calls could be made so off it went again. The first two faults where the speaker and the "Fn" light.
I am having the same problem, the handet is at HTC's repair facility for this and a few nagging issues. I will report what they find.
Mine isn't so much the ringtone it just sounds like a loud static sound. I thought it was the headset but I tried it with 3 different headsets and the Bluethooth in my car and they all have the same problem.
Got my phone back today and I can't say I'm impressed with HTC. First they requested that I send it in the original box then must have thrown it out and sent it in some crap box without enough padding. They didn't even send a note or invoice saying what had been done, which was nothing.
They claim they couldn't find anything wrong and when I called support the guy thought it a joke.
Needless to say it is still deafening and I am pissed.
Same Issue Here... It is almost as if there is a dely in cutting off the WAV/WMA file. Bluetooth Picks up and and both parties get the end of the ring tone.
Had the issued with the origional AT&T rom
Have the issue with Slueth 3.0 and Alex 5.2
If anyone finds a fix please let me know...
I am using PhoneAlarm - Don't know if that is related.
I've had the same complaints from some of my callers, and try to answer between rings as much as possible. The complaints have gone way down. Of course, we shouldn't have to jump thru hoops to answer our phones!
Does anyone have contact info to point HTC to this worrying thread? We need a patch release ASAP. A phone that can't answer calls properly? Yikes.
No issues with my BlueAnt Z9. Have you guys tried different headsets?
I think you may have just been lucky. It is uncommon to A) answer during the ringtone, and B) have the caller complain about the loud noise.
It happens on my Bluetooth earpiece, and Nokia car kit, and JVC car kit. So, it is for HTC to resolve.
I've tried three headsets and it happens on all of them. It happens even when I have the phone on vibrate.
I spent an hour on the phone with HTC support and they are awful, even after telling her that it happens on three different headsets she says that is sounds like a headset issue not an issue with the phone.
When I explained for the third time that I would agree if it happend with one headset but since it happens with all of the headsets it would support my arguement that it is an issue with the phone.
It was like talking to a wall. I wish I had an alternitive to HTC at this point, I love their design and have never had a problem with any of their other phones but this their lack of support is amazing.
I think its with all HTC phones. Happened with my Dash - Wing and now Tilt.
But I've never had anyone complain about hearing music on their end...I can just hear it on my headset for about 1 sec. I've also had my SMS tone play wile on a call and also my VM tone play while on a call and I've asked them if they heard that and they said no.
I also only use noise cancelling headsets.

I've never had a problem with any other handset, I've had a Qtek 9100, MDA, O2 Exec, Wing and a Dash.... crap I spent a lot on phones. The only one I've had problems with is the TyTNII.
Same problem here. And sometimes the speaker will very briefly go into speaker mode as I answer! Not good.

Tilt Goes Silent - I think bluetooth related

Hi everyone. I have had my Tilt for 4months now and it has given me a lot of joy. I have flashed and reflashed with no problems at all. I am currently using Schap's 4.31 Rom with 1.27.12.11 radio.
About a month ago i installed a new car stereo that has bluetooth connectivity with my phone - worked like a charm, paired very easily and generally appeared to be working with no probs.
Then i noticed that if i was in a bluetooth conversation and somebody else was calling (on call waiting), if i switched calls i could not hear anything, and if i ignored the second call, when the person on call waiting hang up, both conversations were terminated. I thought it was odd, but i just deactivated call waiting and thought, "let them try calling me later".
The other, a lot more serious problem, is that sometimes, randomly as far as i realised, the phone will go totally silent - incoming calls won't ring, and when i try to make a call, when i press "talk" then phone does not make that beep that it makes when an outgoing call is initiated. Should the person i call pick up i cannot hear them at all.
A soft reset takes care of this problem, but it has happened to me 3 times already, and i think it was after a bluetooth call.
Has anybody faced this problem before? I need to be available on the phone 24/7 due to my work and i really need to find a solution for this. Yesterday afternoon i took a nap for 45 minutes and had six missed calls that i never heard cause the phone never rang.
The phone is always on "ring" and at full volume.
Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks
Alkis
Same issue
I'm assuming since I also am facing this same problem that it is not uncommon. It seems to me that it happens after a bluetooth device is turned off. Somehow it sets the volume on everything to mute. I thought only a soft reset would fix it until I discovered that it was just shutting off the volume. Still annoying, though.
Tilt problems with phone going silent
This problem has occurred with my phone every since upgrading to the WM 6.1 and it is related to a bluetooth device being hooked up. Often when someone calls the ringer will go from vibrate to on, but the volume turns all the way off. It will then cycle to off completely. The cycling occurs when a call comes in or when I hang up. I can stop this problem from happening by disconnecting the bluetooth head set. I have tried three different headsets and the problem occurs with all of them (Jawbone I, Jawbone II, and Plantronics) so I know it is not the brand of headset. HTC said to try a download of a screen dimmer problem, but have not done that yet. Anyone have any better advice?
did u guys ever find a solution to this?
its quite annoying missing calls because my phone decides to go silent for some reason
Same issue with GPS
I have the same issue, even when using software that accesses the GPS via bluetooth port. Muting is irritating, but at least voicemail catches messages. What really bothers me is that sometimes the mute is turned off and the volume up, especially when in a private meeting where we do not want interruptions

HTC Tytn II bluetooth causes silent setting
I too have had the issue where my phone will go into total silent mode after using my bluetooth stereo hands-free feature. It doen't happen after using my bluetooth headset though.
It happens pretty regular that after using the bluetooth hands-free of my JVC car stereo that when I take the phone elsewhere it is totally silent. no ringer, no alarm (Ptravel alarm is what I use), no audio if I make a call (or receive a call).
It also will cause the phone to be silent on subsequent calls on the bluetooth stereo hands-free: ie: I take a call, hang up and another call will come in and I can answer it but have no audio.
My Tytn II is running the HTC (AT&T) WM 6.1 upgrade. The only thing I have done is use the Advanced configuration manager and the Kaiser tweak to change a few settings for performance and visual enhancements.
I see others are having the same problems.....Has anyone else used the tweaks and maybe that is root of the problem?
Has anyone discovered a fix (really important). My only options are to soft reset every time I get out of the car or not use the JVC bluetooth capability (which is why I replaced the stock radio in the first place).
Thanks
Hi rrackman,
I'd advice for you to look at the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438457
It's quite long, so better subscribe to it and wait for responses. Several people with Tilt's have the same problem. Myself I have a JVC NX-7000 and an unbranded Kaiser (HTC TyTN II). It works fine with WM6.0, but I have the same issues you mention with WM6.1. First advice while we're searching for the solution: downgrade to WM6.0...
Regards,
Nika.
Is there a solution to this problem?
Try WM6.0 ROM - check out the thread I mention in my sig.
Regards,
Nika.
I did indeed take a look at the thread you linked earlier. Sorry for making the quick post earlier, I should have mentioned that this is regarding the "unexplained volume drop to zero" symptom, not the NSI symptom. Fortunately I don't have the NSI problem, just the drop to zero problem.
Of course downgrading to 6.0 would be the key solution, was just hoping to find a way to avoid doing just that. My phone never had the problem prior to 6.1 and was running the exact same list of applications and settings.

X1 wired headset receive calls problem

Hi!
I have one black X1i SW ver R3AA010, GENERIC_UK rom.
Great phone, but i have problem with the wired factory headset.
If i have call, phone playing ringtone, and i want receive this call, but no effect. Another problem is mic is on the phone enabled, not on the headset - in ear-phone mode.
On another forums reported same problem.
I see now only one solution:
1.,Unplug Headset from phone
2.,Incoming call, after hearing rintone - plug in the headset
3.,Problem is fixed..., but only to next soft reset or next unplug
Is there any registry mod or cab fix to this?
example : manual headset mode on/off
pls help me, thank you
As you mention, the problem has been scarcely discussed in other threads (and forums), but no one's seemed to find a solution. I'm not even aware if the headset problem is a general flaw in X1, or we're just a few unfortunates.
I won my X1 in a competition so I don't think I'm really in a position to be pissed off, but this defect is indeed a MAJOR drawback, and it surprises me it hasn't been criticised more loudly in e.g. reviews and forums.
The problem smells to me like a firmware issue (though I really don't have a clue), i.e. something that our friends at Sony Ericsson (are you out there, guys?) should be able to fix in an update, but they don't.. :-(
Anyway, my workaround is to make sure the headset is 'armed' in advance whenever I want to be prepared for an incoming or outgoing call. E.g. before I hop on my bicycle, I 'simply' make a short call to whatever number, e.g. to my voicemail, and as soon as there's a connection I plug in my headset and hang up. Now the headset works - I test it by pressing the headset button twice, which should initiate redialling the last number used.
In any case, it shouldn't be necessary to make such arrangements! My previous mobile was a crap, crap Nokia - but I miss it because its headset worked like a charm.
In fact, just out of curiosity - if anyone reading this has an X1 without any headset problems (i.e. mic and button not being responsive), please speak up. Maybe we can then isolate the problem.

[Q] Bluetooth headset issue

Hi,
I've bought a "Jabra Stealth" headset and I'm unable to launch Google Now on my Nexus 6 (Android stock 5.0.1, FrancoKernel r8) with the dedicated button although it's a built-in feature of the headset. I assume that this is an issue of compatibility with Android 5.0. Jabra has answered me that I didn't configure vocal commands well but that's false. Has someone encountered the same problem and has a solution for it?
Thanks

I have a similar issue. I use a Plantronics Voyager Legend. A couple of issues:
1) press and hold of the action button will bring up "voice dialer" instead of "google now". I dont know if you've ever tried to use voice dialer, but i think its more or less deprecated since the nexus 1 was the new kid on the block.
There is an app for bluetooth on the app store that lets you choose what to launch with that button. however, it didnt work that well for me. lots of lag and it blended together with other bluetooth related issues.
2) Bluetooth never seems to "turn off". I have a smart sensor enabled headset. IE the phone should know if i have the headset on or not, and pipe phone calls and notifications and ringtones to the speaker if i dont have it on and to the headset if i do. instead, the phone constantly pipes EVERYTHING to the bluetooth headset. no fix yet.
3) phone connection to my car's bluetooth makes my audiobook start playing. I have no idea why. it is not a setting in the audiobook app. Seems that the fix is to disable streaming media over bluetooth (contacts/messages only)
From what ive witnessed with issues regarding audio, screen brightness, bluetooth, this is yet another half-baked google product with little to no attempt at a proper follow through. just a crap device rushed to market with tons of potential and a complete crap OS and barely any thought or usability effort put into anything except the home screen.
I also have the N6 with the P Legend. I am having issues where the caller can barely hear me. Do you know if you have this issue at all?

When the caller can barely hear you, check your phone. Sometimes, even though my headset is on, the phone doesn't care and attempts to use the phones speaker or mic.

That's my current issue...
I can answer the calls with either my truck or ear piece, but both will randomly not have audio. The phone says it's connected BT, but I have to switch the source to speaker or handset and then click back over to BT. The whole time while I'm begging the person on the other end not to hang up and to hold on a second. Not bad when I'm at my desk with earpiece....let's just say it's a bit more nerve-racking on the highway.

Same here. Also have a problem where, when on a call, an incoming call will kill bluetooth. This makes it unusable in my car as it becomes a real safety issue. I have to turn off BT and use the speakerphone which luckily is good enough for the job. Even switching the source and switching back doesn't always work for me.
I regret not sending the phone back for this problem. I'm waiting on v5.1 this month as rumored, hoping that will solve the problem. May just go back to my Lumina 925.
Has anyone tried going into Google settings app -> Search & Now -> Voice and turn on Bluetooth Headset (records audion through bluetooth headset if available).
I have Nexus 5 and Jabra Stealth and I had the same problem. I could solve it thanks to these indications: hackerspace.kinja.com/reassign-your-bluetooth-phone-button-to-open-google-n-1507391132
Same issue with calls not having audio through the car Bluetooth unless I switch to speaker/handset then back. I guess Marshmellow really messed up Bluetooth on a lot of people's phones not just us. Tried different rooms(AOSP, CM, stock) no help even tried updating the radio which helped Bluetooth crashing completely and requiring a restart but the phone issues remain.

Dialer - Bluetooth Audio Source Switching

My gut tells me this maybe a lollipop issue in general.
*On a call
*Another call comes in
*Nexus 6 switches audio source to handset
*Call is no longer on my Bluetooth earpiece
This can happen too when email / SMS arrives. I read about a lot of car BT based issues...this is just in the headset now.
Anyone out there feeling this too?

Not many people use BT in their car or daily life at this point in time. Can't tell you how many people I see driving around with a phone in one hand and a steering wheel in the other. Kind of like people here in the USA that don't use cruise control on the highway when clearly you know that their car has it. But I've been hands free in cars for over six years in fact since the HTC HD2 came out. I realized at that point, that to be safe one must use BT and have equipment in car to support this. It's becoming a law in most states in the USA but not all and is not enforced by law as much as it should be, but those times are going to change. There are some forums on the web that talk about bluetooth in lollipop and many of them are confused and think they know what the problem is, but none have proved it yet. There are also other sources that claim BT is on it's way out, I don't know about that. But yes, there are some weird things happening with bluetooth if you use it a lot. I don't know what the answer may be to your problem but you might want to try a search on google to find out more information about this issue. Good luck.

Interesting perspective and ty for taking the time to post this.
Back to the point though; anyone out there having these types of specific challenges with Bluetooth on the N6 as I described above? It really makes this phone unusable for me @ work.
Yes, I also use BT in my vehicle. It used to connect through my car speakers automatically, but now im finding that when making/receiving a call, I need to manually tell it to switch to car speakers. I mean, why the hell would my car speakers stop playing regular radio when a call comes in and to make me still use my handset to talk/listen?having to manually switch to car speakers is dangerouse while on the freeway.

I was experiencing something similar.
I had a 2009 model Pioneer AVIC-x910BT headunit in my truck. And bluetooth worked fine until I got my Nexus 6 (coming from a Nexus 5 and Nexus 4). The Nexus 6 would mute my car audio properly, but when I picked up the phone, the phonecall was on the phone and not the car speakers.
I have the same car, but now I have a 2015 model Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX with Android Auto, and have not had one BT issue yet. I am assuming that the issue was either the N6 or Lollipop5.0 was having issues with the older BT technology my old radio used. Now that I have the newer radio, no call issues yet.

Could you share the model and make or the car?
to confirm my understanding, the call audio was on phone speaker and you had to manually select the it every time?
Was this working in the past for you?
Does this happen for every call or only during multiparty call?
I am now using a different BT headset, Jabra, and the model is at least a year old. I think I am going to look for a completely new model of bluetooth headset / earpiece that came on the market much more recently and see if this makes a difference.
I have been using a wired headset to avoid these challenges, but very much miss hands free use for phone calls. Anyone else feeling this issue out there?

It has happened to me as well. I use a Jabra Tour BT speakerphone, while having music streamed via a BB BT gateway to my car speakers When on the phone and another call / sms /email comes in, the phone connection to Jabra Tour is dropped, I have to manually reconnect (but after reconnecting to Jabra the phone call ends, somehow the media stream switches from BB gateway to Jabra = more manual switching). Unsafe to be doing this on a highway. My Galaxy Note 3 and prior to that Galaxy S3 worked perfectly well with the same setup.
I understand that Nexus 6 takes advantage of the new BT tech, but it should have been made backwards compatible with the older BT devices.
