This is exactly the kind of thread that should *not* be made in Development.

I'm quite interested in this Rom based on Gingerbread with Sense. Unfortunately it is only for HTC HD Mini. Any developer mind to port it to our shiny Topaz?

Hello guys ,
this is hp-touchpad.
This rom is hp touch os , an after market rom based on cyanogenmod 9 (ics).
Though the initial cm9 nightly build had few technical glitches , in this rom they have been fixed.
This rom is a stable build.
This rom has built in google chrome , file explorer , video player , photo editor and few other essential apps.
I have fixed all the glitches (or) bugs i have encountered.
In this rom you have the choice to chose between two interfaces , one the pure ics , and the other nova prime .
This rom is bigger than the cm9 and is more convenient and user-friendly .
This rom doesn't have any bloatware and has been aimed for people who are new and junior developers(devs)
download: Will post soon.
This stable version might have few bugs which i have not encountered ,
please feel free to mention any bugs you have found
right now we are working on the touch os stable 2.
Working : Everything until now
not working : Nothing until you mention
?
directions? downloads?
Wait wut? Bump

I don't understand how hard it is to follow the rules. Development threads without download i.e "placeholders" should not be posted. Has been the rule for quite a long time.
Hi All,
Sorry if this is not posted in the right section, i am unable to post in the correct section due to me being a new registered member, so i thought i'd ask here and maybe some of you can help and share some of you're knowledge.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000, I followed a guide posted on the XDA developers website (here is the link) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852546
I ignored the INSTALLING JW4 section as i was already updated to GINGERBREAD 2.3.6 XXJW4.
I then followed the Installing Root section with success.
I then installed Cyanogenmod 9.0 on the install custom ROM section, but further down the section i was also told to install gapps....Could someone tell me what gapps is ? and what gapps does ?
Everything else went well and i am now running Cyanogenmod 9.0 on my Galaxy S.
I was wondering, i hear alot about jelly bean, ice cream, cyanogenmod, what are the differences ? or are these the same thing ?
now i have cyanogenmod installed on my phone, and i want to update to say Jelly Bean 4.2 how do i go about doing this ? do i need to follow the guide and root again or ?
also can someone explain flashing to me ?
Thanks in advance.

First of all...what is GAPPS?
Gapps is short for google apps...its has gmail, maps, play store, maybe youtube or an update to the camera app (not sure) but you get the idea...you don't have to install gapps but it's recommended...here is a link to gapps: GAPPS. Third link is what you should download...the one that says CyanogenMod 9.x.x
Second, Ice cream sandwich(ICS), Jelly Bean(JB):
These are android OS versions, you are now using cyanogenMod 9....this is using Android ICS(ice cream sandwich) this is android 4.0.3 or 4.0.4.
Here is a full list of Android OS versions.
Now you get the idea...
Third...what is CyanogenMod?
Simply put, CyanogenMod is a group of people who take the stock android OS and make some customizations, editing, tweaking, and theming...like others...but CyanogenMod(CM) are so great, that most other ROMs depend on CM (You'll see in the ROM page something like "Based on CM" or "Based on cyanogenMod 9").
Extra:
What is ClockWorkMod recovery? (CWM):
CWM is the most popular custom recovery that gives you more options than that of the stock recovery...most of the time, when you root your phone you flash a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP(Team Win Recovery Project) which give you the ability to flash custom ROMs and other flashable ZIP files...
This is a great guide and will help you greatly...
Have a nice day
