Hi guys,
Sooo I'm a new owner of a p30 pro... Coming from a stock experience and root has made me quite confused about a few things and wanted to know if anyone had work arounds.
1. When switching launchers (Nova) gesture animations no longer work. Does anyone have a good launcher that still supports them?
2. HiBoard doesn't get populated with anything other than App use which is really nice but I would enjoy news or anything else to look at.(I saw that on the mate you could replace with google feed, is this possible with p30 pro?)
3. After around 11 my phone no longer receives drop down notifications, I even tried finding the do not disturb settings and nothing seems off.
4. I use google messages for texts and when I send a screenshot its super blurry but on the other end is fine.(Guess it would just be nice to see if it could get fixed but not too much of a problem)
5. Does EMUI not group notifications? When I get a load of texts or snapchats they are listed one by one which is odd because my nexus 6p used to group everything perfectly and neatly.
Other than that this phone has been pretty nice with battery life, just wish the screen was 2k as I edit alot of photos :/
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place or something but have been doing 2 days of research about these things!
Side note anyone know about eta for EMUI 10?
Hi, haven't seen anyone posted regarding Snapchat issues, it's been persistent for me regardless of versions of Snapchat or developers miui/global miui.
Basically, people can't see my snap stories that I record with snap. They'll click on it and it'll close immediately without a chance of looking at it. Doesn't happen if I post a picture from camera roll taken from the miui camera/screenshots,etc.
Anybody running into the same issue? I've messed with the notch hide/full screen settings too with no luck.
We're you ever able to solve the problem?
I also had this issue last week, and it seems to be a recurrent problem atm. I saw two people reporting the same problem : Link 1 | Link 2 (in french sorry)
I guess we'll have to wait for a snapchat or MIUI update to fix this problem :/ The best we can do for now is report it in the MIUI forum
Edit : I reported it here. If you don't mind you could upvote it and / or reply to confirm so the issue maybe gets more visibility :fingers-crossed:
Can someone who's running the global stable ROM please confirm this issue and post it on Mi Community ? Because, as you can see in my post on the forum, the user from the feedback team replying doesn't believe me as long as I don't switch to global stable myself..
No fix that I was able so far BY MYSELFFFFF. Took everyone worldwide long enough to realize there was an issue.
At the moment I believe it's only iphone that can't see snap videos, androids seem to be fine. 50/50 on if they can see videos from camera roll recorded with something else ( can't determine when they can/can't see it) Last I heard they were not able to see videos with the stock camera app, perhaps they can see video recorded with gcam/instagram(can't confirm). The iphone person reinstalling their snapchat app may or may not allow them to see your snap video (once again, can't confirm)
They said they saw my snap after reinstalling because I asked them to, but I can't recall if it was a snap video vs picture vs camera roll video.
I have tried using many old versions of snap, , latest version, beta versions of snap.
I have tried using the last available developer rom and the last global stable rom.
I've toggled with fullscreen/notch support because I noticed the camera view kind of stutters for a split sec when you start recording and changes to fullscreen or something like that.
Hi , i used to have the same problem , but i fix it by flashing Revolution OS 9.9.21 , here is your guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/how-to/xiaomi-mi-9-firmware-twrp-recovery-root-t3922158
I think problem got fixed upgrading to MIUI 11 9.10.10 by xiaomi.eu. Unlocked bootloader/rooted with magisk.
I actually really like this phone, except for the lack of good roms. im trying to find a stable one thats atleast as fast as the stock eui rom. i tried lineage os earlier this year and instantly felt slow withing 10 seconds of using it.

After march update i had many problems with P.E
I didn't try latest version.
But in evolution everything is good with many customisation
Gcam 6.2 works so well
I had 3 problem with it
Camera crashes after opening it for 10 - 15 times or when enabling face unlock(needs reboot)
Unable to send WhatsApp audio
My battery standby is poor (i used extensively for 3 years)
If you want most stable then go for stock(good if you debloat it) or small eui or try Android 6 or 7 roms. But you cant use gcam 6+ over there

I recently found a video from YouTube, where they used adb from pc to disable the bloatware. But you have to root the device to completely uninstall it, though it backfires sometimes and crashes system apps frequently.
Small eui is better(no bloatware) but it has aggressive ram and battery management so there are some issues like notification arriving late and longer background apps reloading time and also unable to customise the icons for default launcher

i think i saw that same video, hm well im on Pixel exp now and will check out the one you recommended and lineage if this one breaks down
Don't want to switch to a rom where stuff randomly stops working, so basically it has to be almost perfect. I guess Pixel Experience is the best currently? Does Google Camera work on every rom exactly like it does on MIUI?
Give me your suggestions!
>If MIUI 11 turns out to be as bad as 10
what's bad about MIUI 10? Also I just ot MIUI 11 and it's nice.

AOD not displaying any relevant notifications, awful notifications in general, Android System using the most battery(though this might be just me), bloatware(removed it via ADB but still), automatic brightness randomly blinding me at night in bed.
I put Nova Launcher just to bypass some of the horrendous stuff MIUI has.

Just removing the bloatwares will do for a while. But if you're gonna ask for a custom rom. It's good to install LineageOS. I've been using that ROM since I was in Zenfone2.
PixelROM has still too much bugs. And I think all the custom roms will be stable after a year.
I haven't found any custom rom to be stable unfortunately.
Miui 11 is a tad better than Miui 10. But not by much. It's still got the terrible notification system, poor recents layout and overly complicated settings (thank god for search).

You have a very narrow definition of stable.

Most of the ROMs are stable, however none are without some minor issues, but nothing that stops them being used as a daily. Couldn't comment on all of them, but it looks like the Oxygen OS ROM is the only unusable ROM.
There are a few that are all at a similar level, with PE being just one of them.
My suggestion is look at the ROM threads that are the most active, as they're going to be the ones with the most users, which implies they're the ones with the least bugs. After that it's personal preference as to which you choose.
Unfortunately there isn't a perfect camera solution for custom ROMs yet.
To get the best out of it, you will probably need both GCam and ANX camera installed, as both aren't perfect, but their issues don't overlap much, so between them you get almost everything covered. There are many threads that discuss which versions of each work best.

They have fixed the notifications on AOD and I agree with the bloatware problem and automatic brightness problem. Battery life is better in miui11, at least for me.
I think the most stable 3rd party rom for this device is either LOS16 or Pixel Experience based on 9. I think they will soon all move to android 10 (Official builds) before 2020. But I haven't tried any of them.

Try this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/development/rom-evolution-x-2-2-t3975157 it is as PE but much better.
Our beloved Note 9 camera is a beast ? but in pro mode iso and shutter speed not enough for take advance pictures. So any method to increase these settings?
Yes!
It's very possible with root.
There is an app you can use called Camera Mod on the playstore for a couple of bucks.
Don't think they allow me to include links... But a quick Google should give you the answer. Don't think it's possible without root though
I already have this app. Ut it's nor working. I have changed 10 to 30 but in pro mode still showing 10. And I didn't see this is working for Note 9.
Do you have a Note 9 with that app installed and it's working?
Yes I do. You change the settings and the it creates a zip file that you need to flash in magisk.
I had a bit of trouble at 30 seconds, but 20 seconds works great.
What? How and where rhat zip file? Can you please help me
