Okay, sounds fair enough. The thing is that you'll have to flash ROMs on your own to check what is better for you.
I'll recommend you to open ROM section of Redmi 4X and and in new tab open YouTube and check and compare what suits for you because everyone has different choices and usage.
For me this ROM works great in terms of battery backup, performance and features (which is important to me)
Oreo based...
Resurrection Remix
dot OS
Havoc OS (ignore final build it has random reboot issue)
Pie based...
Arrow OS.
Havoc OS(using currently and it has good battery backup)
crDroid
Waiting for dot OS
The rom that u have named above are very customized i want a stock like experience rom .......and whats ur thought about lineage os as compared to above roms?

Okay, go for Arrow OS then it has very limited customisation and it is close to stock Android You can check its UI and review on YouTube.
I haven't tried lineage OS (both Oreo and Pie) I like feature full of ROM which is can customize the way I want so I can't say anything about lineage OS but it you can check its thread for more details and it's stability, battery backup and bugs related stuff.

I don't get what you want exactly?
Custom roms are usually based on lineage OS and they get modified further by different rom developers and rom community.
There's currently no official Android pie based lineage OS available as I am writing this comment, however there's lineage Oreo ROM available which is nightly build.
If you only want to flash lineage OS then flash it. Pie ROM unofficially available flash it if you want to. They do get updated once developers avails it.
Also I did not get why are you sharing this stuff here, I think it's irrelevant.
There's also many other roms gives ota's and IMO it doesn't matter much if it's ota's or not. One can flash it manually. Only benefit is we get to know new update is available.
Wait for lineage OS pie official or flash Oreo based official lineage OS.
Seriously decide first what you want, I've given much of my time I think it won't be possible for me to do.

You'll find several custom roms official ones and unofficial ones.
Official ones are supported by its rom community and developers here help each other to build builds. you'll often see in credits that several rom community and developers helped to build it.
Unofficial ones are those builds which individual developer(s) built it on their own time they might have taken help from other developers (individual or from community)
XDA is most trusted among android enthusiast website. i can't say anything about other websites.
Custom roms needs to uploaded on their own website or some other cloud storage such as Gdrive, androidfilehost, sourceforge. usually this are download pages you'll be directed to.
If there is any other community or website i can't say anything about it.
Your discretion is advised in such cases.
For your information i've never had any issues with links shared on xda.
it is hard work from developers and community which avails custom rom to us which i appreciate and same goes to XDA.
If any case you are skeptical do not proceed, but it is better than that Xiaomi's MIUI which where they clearly said we will use user data and process it and data will send to their servers.

If you want roms with more function, try heading over to the project treble section of xda and flashing some GSI images. Currently using phhusson's stock Android 10 with go gapps but you might like to use a ROM with more features.

Based on my current understanding, project treble aims to make it easier for OEMs (like Samsung) to update android. Here's a more in depth read about project treble: https://www.computerworld.com/artic...ect-treble-android-upgrade-fix-explained.html
A GSI is a Generic System Image that can be flashed on top of existing vendor code. So it makes it easier to change/update your android OS without companies like Samsung having to modify their hardware compatibility code (that's the goal anyways) which leads to faster updates.
For us enthusiasts, that means we can flash the same stock android GSI ROM, lineageOS GSI ROM, resurrection remix GSI, etc. on any phone supporting project treble (all devices that came out with android 9+ & some android 8).That's the same GSI file on any device with a recent version of VNDK. It's not all perfect for compatibility yet, but I've yet to run into any issues.
Yup! As @Roarmaster said you can check out Project Treble page. I too use GSIs and have flashed 3 GSIs so I can recommend you some. In project treble section for AB devices search for Bless GSI, it has lot of customization and works quite well, selinux enforcing, megisk safety net passes and google play certification all by default.

Thank you for the tip, this sounds like an interesting option. I'm looking at flashing a custom ROM onto my SM-T510 in the hope of improving the performance as the multitaking on the stock rom isn't great. Can I ask have you been flashing A, B, or A/B ROMS? I've installed two different Treble checker apps and they gave conflicting results.

Flash the rooms from the A/AB section of project treble. When checking for treble compatibility, use the app recommended on Phusson's GSI page as most GSIs are based on his work. If you want to flash a ROM, make sure you flash the arm32-binder64-ab version (like it says from the treble app) for the SM-T510.
Amazing! Thank you for the info and links @Roarmaster, I really appreciate the help. I've known about project Treble for a while but I've been out of the custom ROM scene for quite a few years, so I had no idea you could flash like this. I'll give one of Phusson's roms a go. Thanks again!
Hey guys I’m thinking of flashing a android 13 custom Rom long term. Which one is the best ?
Android 13?, Do you mean Miui 13?, if A13 then i dont think many have installed them as theres only a couple available, very early days as yet, if you search through questions im sure someone else asked about A13 roms and testing them.

Never understand why people are so keen to flash a A13 rom that's not anywhere stable at the moment as much as Devs say it is stable. Is it just for the sake of having the lastest Android version but dealing with bugs everyday.
cDroid 12.1
PixelOs 12.1
CherishOs 12.1
Everything else will give you endless headaches and 3 hours of reconfiguring your phone after you realise that a A13 build is a POS right now.

not true, i am currently using cherishOS 4.0.5 android 13 now few days. Didn't found any major bug, rom running smooth as pixelOS a12. Normal stuff like, playing normal games, voice calling, social media and watching videos no issues even the battery backup is also good. Devs put lot of efforts for us. A13 cherishOS is a great rom to be used as daily driver. thanks i hope this helps for someone.

It's relative, devs test roms on us for their learning and we sometimes like what we get. What I've observed over 7 years of using customs roms is that devs are less interested in bringing a ROM development to real stability, what has become important is "let's be first" hence this rush to port roms to the newest android version. Except for cDroid every ROM for RN10 Pro is a pixel port there's no real bespoke elements. I guess unlimited photo storage is the thing people want here. That's my take.

i do not know about others. I am also using custom roms and phone software customization for more than 11 years. On who else other then a user devs will test there rom for early testing of bugs or any other issue, (apple also releases several beta version to user's to test there ios (6-7 beta) and then release the final build to public). not all roms are stable that i agree. there are specific roms like for gaming for battery for overall stability. It's user choice to test roms or listen to other user's review and then install rom according to there needs. many mobile companies just launch phone and then do not provide proper software update support, like micromax, xiaomi, redmi, samsung(before) etc.. ASOP custom rom extends the life of a phone(like poco f1, redmi k20 pro, redmi note 5 pro and many many others). Whatever the reason is but in the end user's are getting more without any hard work and yes devs will also think about themselves too and they deserves it. Devs have to meet the user's demand so i think yeah they rush to port to latest android version and also devs have a year to stable the rom for us before another android version google releases. not even google's own android 13 is bug free, it has many many bugs which user's face in there costly pixel devices. so yeah these bugs will also come to custom roms.

HI all, what do y'all think is the most stable and least problematic among all the custom ROMs for SPES? I'd like to know 'coz I'm tired of backing up my files and switching to other ROMs when there's something wrong with my current ROM, thanks!
In my case it is Evolution X (both Android 12 and Android 13) for a simple reason:
It is one of the few ROMs that has solved a bug with the Goodix fingerprint readers, which is that it does not let the screen turn off correctly, since it takes the FP as a button. Well, I know that Pixel Experience also solved it but I had a bad experience with that ROM.
Used Pixel Experience for 2 months. It's smooth
Been using Evolution X for a week, my only complaints are some bugs like fingerprint not working until I unlock the phone on some instances
Planning to move to CrDroid sometime next week tho, idk I'd recommend use them all and decide what you should use

Well, then back to official MIUI I suggest. Nobody can assess what "something wrong" means to you. Rom development is an ongoing process, bugs happen. For some a (slightly) lower sot is "wrong" for others the gaming performance is "wrong". I find this kind of questions difficult since more people want just ready to use roms without the more or less hassle that may come with software in development from and for the community and developed by learning hobby developers, enthusiasts or semi professionals or as often seen tech students. This is not how this all here works. I'm using pa sapphire beta for weeks now, which definitely has its pros and cons (for example). But I'm cool with it since it's stable in case of random reboots and its overall performance (nearly no sudden performance drops in general usage). Where for others the small hiccups it has are unacceptable I'm clearly happy with it (until another interesting rom or update comes up ). Long story short, it depends on what "something wrong" means individually since there are several stable and 'well performing' projects out there. Cheers

I actually was on cdDroid since 8.7 but then 8.9 has the goodix bug, which made the phone incredibly annoying to use, so I tried Evolution X on Android 13 and its stable, for now, but I'm probably gonna get back to crDroid when the goodix bug will be fixed.

I tried all of them from XDA and out of XDA, from the lot of available ROMs, the simpler, less customizable seems to run smoother than all the rest, PixelOS v13 takes the credit. I personally prefer something more customizable, and the better for that is AncientOS-Shield, of course, it could have its cons, as the battery consumption within other things, so, finally, you'll find that you should give it a try in your own, the experience from others also can help you, to decide, not to use it, but to try it (or not)

This has nothing to do with the stability of a custom rom, but with the hardware of your smartphone.
With every batch Xiaomi change hardware. Not every custom rom can or will follow these changes.

Bumping this thread to ask the same question in light of new circumstances (my apologies):
I've been looking through all these threads lately to find a custom ROM for my usage before unlocking the bootloader, but recently I noticed that almost every Android 12 ROM is discontinued so the devs can work on A13 or for other reasons, so now I can't find any threads that have that in context.
In other words my question is, what is a stable enough ROM now that most are discontinued? Taking into context the spoofing no longer works in the latest ArrowOS 12.1 build which causes extreme battery drain by the Google Play Services.
If it helps, the uses/needs I basically seek are mainly Camera/Audio/Battery. I dont care for gaming one bit in my personal case.
Thank you and sorry for repeating the same question. I just want to drop MIUI and can't find an answer.

But A12 is no more updated and this will be a security reason, or not?

Please recommend me a ROM to daily.
In previous phones I've enjoyed Pixel Experience, PixelPlus and am a big fan of LineageOS.
Of course, I'd prefer to keep fast-charging functionality and be on the latest android.
Thanks!

Hey friend, I tried a few roms for this device and can tell you that you can drive 2 roms that are really goodand so far without any bugs (in my case at least):
1. PixelPlus Experience
2. Project Elixir
Very good,stable and smooth roms
Greetings

If you are okay with MIUI, Hassan mirza ROMs are amazing. He has A12/12.5/13.
