I would like to know if I can turn off the default wallpaper (image)/ theme for the S20 home screen and just have it replaced with nothing more than a black bakcground. Can this be done?
I do not know if you can turn off default wallpaper, but you can easily set a black jpg as wallpaper.

I did a search and pulled up nothing. My question is, is there a way to just set one wallpaper to work on all screens, so when you set scrolling wallpaper, it just scrolls to each side of the wallpaper??? The it's set up now, it puts a full wallpaper on each screen and stitches them all together, which kind of looks weird when you switch between them. If this can't be done, is there another app I can use or another way to get full screen wallpapers??
Anyone know.
Help someone???
can you re-explain your question.. im not understanding what it is that you are asking..
I have a live wallpaper that I have set.. and as I scroll the screen it stay right where it is.. no matter what I scroll to.
Yes you can. You need to disable transitions or animations. Have a dig through the live wallpaper settings and you should be able to find it.

Dig through the live wallpaper settings? Which ones? The ones in multi picture or are there some other wallpaper settings that I am unaware of? I am pretty sure that the OP was asking about getting a static wallpaper to span across all screens while also having the proper display resolution in both portrait and landscape mode. Something that is still evading me/us to this very day.
I really wish someone would come up with a fix for this.

That is what I am asking. When I set a non live wallpaper it wont allow scrolling wallpaper.
It sets a wallpaper for each screen and stitches them together.
I had same problem. Using ADW Launcher, went to adw settings and un-checked "allow wallpaper scrolling". Now just one wallpaper that my home screens scroll across.

Tried that, and then it doesn't scroll at all.
As you guys might have noticed, whenever you set a wallpaper using the default android gallery, it kinda compresses it and results in a low quality version of the pic as your wallpaper. I've found a workaround for this by using apps from the market to set my wallpaper with BUT all of those apps can only change my homescreen wallpaper and NOT the lockscreen wallpaper.
So my question is if any of you guys can tell me how to manually change my lockscreen wallpaper? I have a rooted device 2.3.5 btw. Thanks.
Menu-setting-display-screen display-lockscreen-wallpaper
No, I know how to change the lockscreen wallpaper. But like I've said, when you use that way, it lowers the quality of the picture you use. If I use a hi-def photo and set it as my lockscreen wallpaper, the quality loss is very obvious. Which is why I was asking if there was a workaround for this.
When you're about to change the wallpaper and the square box pops up, tap it and expand it.

no, that's not it either. regardless of how you crop it, if you use the default gallery app, the resulting wallpaper is compressed thus the quality loss
get a suitable hd wallpaper from the internet then save picture to gallery. When you set wallpaper to lockscreen choose gallery, find pic you have d/l and crop it accordingly. Remember to get the highest resolution wallpaper.
Hope the above helps

+1 to the question!!!
I wanna use the same wallpaper on the lockscreen & on the my launcher. I choose the picture, set it up as my wallpaper - in the laucher it's absolutely ok, but in the locksreen there are a lot of strange lines (bright & dark) over the wallpaper.
you need a wallpaper of atleast 1600*1000 resolution. If you can find one with an even higher resolution, better still.
Just follow instructions of my earlier post

Of course I have a high-res wallpaper!
But the quality is much worse on the lockscreen than on the launcher's homescreen.
Maybe light wallpapers are ok, but the dark (like mine) is laggy.
anyone knows where the default wallpapers are saved to? cant seem to find the default lock screen wallpaper (of the pen and notebook)...
low resolution for a purpose
do you think the lock screen uses a lower resolution for a reason. that screen basically is displayed for just a few seconds and kinda floats on top of an already high resolution main screen. just a theory that it's supposed to be lower quality graphic.
You can use Quickpic which is free on the market to set the lockscreen. I don't see any reduction of resolution.

again guys, the issue is not with the cropping or with the image quality i'm using. it's with android gallery app compressing the picture i want to use.
@holgalee
thanks, that was exactly what i was looking for!
How about WidgetLocker? A guy posted a screenshot of his completely black background that didn't have any of the ugliness many are reporting of. But it costs money, and i don't know how you feel about apps that cost money, but you're holding a device that cost almost $1000
same problem here.
tried to have a black background on the lockscreen.
tried with a 1200x1600 bmp, png and jpg...
always the same ugly green and black stripes
none of that with galaxy s1 and s2, just with the galaxy note
what can i do to have full black background? dont want to use crappy alternative lockscreen, want to use the native android lockscreen
It won't help with a 5500x3500 wallpaper as long as the default gallery app is compressing the image. It will still look like ****.

I had the same issue on my S2; completely stupid really. Now I have my lockscreen wallpaper automatically change when I modify my [active] wallpaper.
The Gallery app needs to be fixed.
It's still crap on the note 2, anyone who's found a solution?
If it is the black clipping problem? Note shows lockscreen wallpaper a bit darker than normal wallpaper so theres possibility you only notice it on lockscreen.
Found one that looks okay so i am using that
Can someone list the steps of how to set a different wallpaper to the lockscreen to that of the homescreen.
I have some in my gallery i wish to use but whenever i set one it sets to both lockscreen and homescreen.
thanks

thanks for the help
so is there not just a simple way to do it from the phone without the need to install another app?
seems very strange
It really depend on the framework implementation. Samsung and sony are allowing different wallpapers ... motorola and google vanilla don't.

Not sure if it's possible.
But you should ask yourself this:
You look at the lock screen like a few seconds every time, what's the point of having a live wallpaper. Because of that you will only have more topics about the battery sucking.
i had live wallpaper in lock screen untill i changed theme now i cant get it back
the stock lockscreen i.e. UxpNxtLockScreen.apk cannot set live wallpaper.
you can delete it after rooting, then lockscreen becomes the one of stock home.apk.
or try other lockscreen app possible.
I just bought this phone today, and when I changed wallpaper, I applied wallpaper for both home screen and lock screen but regret it now. I love those changing lock screen wallpapers. How do I bring it back? Any help from you folks would be greatly appreciated. ray:

I really applied the default theme but it just puts default theme's wallpaper as lockscreen. Those changing lockscreens are not showing.

Try this: go to settings/display and enable screen saver.
Here is how to re-enable changing lock screen wallpapers: in lock screen, before unlocking device, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then tap the play button.
