Just randomly I noticed my 2nd sim slot isn't showing any longer. I use 2 sim card in my phone and just randomly I can longer enable it, as if the phone was never a dual sim? the Option in the settings have changed too. I have installed nor updated the phone. Restart or reboot don't help. Thanks
Further more the phone no longer shows any association with SIM 2, no imei, no phone 2 data, etc.As if the phone was a single sim only. Removing, reinstalling, doesn't help the case. Advice welcome please

Maybe not but the update can solve the problem especially with root.
Update with TWRP(zip rom not fastboot zip) and unroot before.
TWRP https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=326460
Is there a possibility to update via fastboot? I dont want to TWRP unless I have to? I tought TWRP wasnt possible on A12? Sorry to bother you but have you any links on TWRP how to?

Last question, it seems like magisk no longer works as some people have described and root is hard to achieve via TWRP.
Is your phone rooted on the lastest version of xiaomi eu for 12 Pro? thanks

Nope,but why rooting?
Xiaomi EU rom have the play store certified without root.
Im not worried about playstore, latest safetynet works fine with all banking and playstore.
Root for me cause of privacy, adaway is a big one, having zero ads on android is a game changer, plus being in full control via xposed is what attracts me to androids.

OK,I understand but try to see if the problem is solved before rooting.
I just reset the phone settings, try swapping cards into my 11T peo ( which works fine) cleared all data , cache and still dont have the dual sim option. What ever has happend as if the phone is a single sim only. And all settings, IMEI, etc only show single slot. The phone hasnt been updated either so its very strange event that lead to removal of the dual SIM.
Unless phone pushed some carrier settings update in the background, I dont know. I will flash again the same 13.0.36 fastboot and see if that helps and then go via twrp option.
Will update here
Update:
TWRP installed and I updated to latest 12 PRO version of 13.0.37
Everything went smooth, but DUAL SIM still not working. The phone is still listing one Sim 1 as if its a single sim phone?
Im speechless

Update:
I did a complete wipe and reinstall of the Xiaomi EU rom and the Dual sim is back working now. Just pain trying to backup and restore, but all working now.
Quite possible a bug in the Xiaomi eu Rom.

A bug that you will be the only one to have, moreover no one answered you on Xiaomi eu rom.
By formatting the data everything was cleaned and possibly recreated a partition.
Root +Magisk modules or xposed,etc.. may be the cause.

I hope I can get some help here. Today I started getting add pop-ups on my Xiaomi MI5 that's 3 days old. I installed a lot of applications, but they have all been previously installed on my HTC Desire 500 and my Nexus 7 and I never had any issues. The adds pop up after I unlock the screen, sometimes it's just a Home screen that's not responding (until I hit the Back button), sometimes it's a full add. Adds vary a lot and change from Pokemon training spam to Anti-spyware apps. On some adds it said it's sponsored by "StartApp". On one add there was an information button, so I got some message from "com.aqplay.mediation" about permission settings (nothing really relevant, couldn't uncheck anything anyways).
After scanning the phone with Avast, MBAM and Addons Detector, I got nothing. I also went through a crapload of forums looking for answers, tried to uninstall some apps that I installed today, but nothing helped.
In the end I noticed that the built-in application "File Manager" keeps ending up in my Recent Applications list, even though I never opened it. So I tried to stop and uninstall it, but with no luck. There is a process that looks suspicious so I would like to ask anyone to check if they have the same process on their device.
Under Settings - Installed apps - Running - File Manager there is a Service (second from the top) called "zdrhhriggx". Can anyone verify they have the same Service running?
Since it's a built in app, I can't Disable or Uninstall File Manager to be 100% sure, but so far I have found a workaround.
In the Security application I went to Data Usage settings - Data usage stats - System apps - File Manager and I disabled it's Mobile and Background data access. I am unable to turn off the WLAN setting for it though. But so far, no adds in the last 30mins.
If anyone has a good permanent solution to this problem (I know I can do a factory reset, but let's make that the last option) I'd be forever grateful.
Additional info:
Android version: 6.0 MRA58K

Fake ROM
I believe you are correct, stupid of me not to check the ROM version. Thank you very much.
You are using Vendor Rom maybe . Unlock your bootloader and flash Official Rom . If you are using root . Install adaway to make some ads dissapear .
Same issue with ads and massive wlan battery drain (vendor rom from xiaomi.eu). unlocked it, flash the official and worked like a charm.

Yup, same here with the WLAN battery drain. But the adds stopped for some reason the last 2 days. I'm planning on flashing it, just not sure which procedure to follow. Can you please tell me if you had to Unlock the device through the MIUI website request?
I've found this thread to be helpful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/xiaomi-eu-7-8-13-0-maacndb-t3412638
I'm just not clear on the difference between flashing with the fastboot update (MIUI flashing tool) or using Mi PC Suite with Full ROM?
Would you be so kind as to provide more precise steps on what you did to unlock and flash it?

i successfully flashed to GLOBAL ROM.
while i was doing this, there was no folder called "Downloaded_rom" for the ROM to put, i created a folder & put the ROM there. then flashing will go through normally. no need of Fastboot or anything.
Now no ads or any sort of issues

I'm about to "update" my phone, and I'm just wondering if I need to wipe my phone data first, or everything will be wipe out on this process?
As title. I've tried like 5 different TWRP versions linked from all over the Mi 8 forums and none have worked for me. Any and all versions have made the ROM unable to boot, every restart will load recovery instead and I have to flash stock boot to get the ROM to work. Bootloader unlocked, ROM rooted by having Magisk create a patched boot cos every other way also failed.
I'm also looking for it.

Currently https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-0-mi-8-t3837745 this version working but you've to format all of your data then flash your rom. I know its not the standard solution and even I'm waiting for official TWRP for our beloved Mi 8.
You need to choose Format Data first, Reboot again to Recovery, and then flash the DM Verity and Encryption Disabler.
After that, you can go ahead to flash any ROM you like.

Believe me, it worth the efforts! It would be much better than staying with crappy MIUI 10 Global Stable.
Currently, I'm with MIUI EU 10.0.6.0 Stable and I don't want to go back to stock MIUI Stable, just don't forget to install Magisk 17.2 for root access, replace the GPS.conf with your preferred country server URL (I believed it should be Malaysia) - look for a thread by @RainGater for the complete walkthrough - and although it is not necessary, it would be better to edit the default Xiaomi EU build.prop to change the region to match your country (by default it is set to Romania or some EU country, I forgot)

I don't actually have a problem with my ROM. My GPS works fine, and I've already gotten root on my stock Global. Right now in my journey with Android which started with the HTC Desire Z, I don't need a custom ROM, I just need root for the occasional app that needs it I do have root now, but would love TWRP too so I can make full backups. Will check out your links regardless, thanks!

I may even try just keep stock rom and root that, by attempting to modify the boot.img, as shown in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/magisk-twrp-device-encryption-t3733601/page1
Stock rom is fine for me for now and whilst I'd love to try out the EU rom, I will be happy enough to have my phone as it is now (firmware wise) but with root and all the joys that brings (app theming, ad blocking, viper4android etc).
Tuesday night I'll get to start playing around and attempting all of this. I'll definitely post a guide of whatever I'm successful with

My tips: clear the data of Google pay/Google play services/nfc services, use magisk hide for Google play services, Google pay, reboot. Also ensure Secure Element Position is set to HCE Wallet.
Hope that works for you!

i was surprised too, but i just ordered starbucks with gpay and it works flawless. not sure if unlocked BL it self triggers safetynet fail as there is no way far as i know to currentyl ROOT which i could see tripping it, but then there magisk which would solve that

It also enabled the toggled for WiFi Calling on AT&T as well. Which I then turned on and selected to prefer mobile data as I don't really care about WiFI Calling.
I need some help, I have Mi 11 Ultra CN version, I unlocked BL and install the Global Rom using fast boot, I enjoyed it, but battery seems to suck.
I installed MIUI EU 12.5.4 and now that I'm trying to update it to EU 12.5.7.0 within the phone, it tells me my internal memory is encrypted. How can i install the update or decrypt my internal memory. It does not allow me to install the update... any help will be appreciated it..

You can try with Mi flash (dont relock bootloader)
MIUI EU 12.5.4 not EEA but CN version
Set a lock screen lock, then go to twrp and use it to unlock and decrypt the storage
i was able to install twrp and that did the trick, BTW what's the downsize of installing twrp as my boot recovery... it's been a while since I mess with a phone but now my google messages says network not ready when sending a picture message, but i can received them, if I use the stock message app, I don't have any issues at all

There is no downsize. You are only replacing stock recovery with a different version. It has no affect on your phone, it's and your own data. It just makes it easier to flash custom or even returning to stock if required as well as other tools offered in the TWRP package.

im not well known with TWRP.
Try what I wrote in post 3, https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/internal-storage-encrypted.4289325/post-85151561

Give me a couple of hours until I get home and I'll show you how I did it.. I did not root my phone BTW
@sheephurther I used this Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot to install TWRP
https://github.com/Szaki/XiaomiADBFastbootTools/releases/tag/7.0.3
Hope this will help you..
Make sure phone is in ADB Debugging mode.

Installing twrp doesn't install root. It just replaces the system recovery. If you really want root, use Magisk but I've not found any reason to root my phone for ages.
I tried today but it doesn't work.
To bad!!I'll try it later on.

Did you try setting a lock screen pin, pattern or pw and then using it to decrypt in TWRP? I'm using 3.5.1 twrp version fine.

Change your password to 1234 and try it again
When your get asked to decrypt enter 1234 and press the ok bottom on the bottom right

I sold a phone yesterday to somebody, doing the full wipe before that. It was on the latest weekly Xiaomi.eu. Now it has this issue. Is it possible that it is the same thing?
