Since the update to MIUI 13, I don't see the section "press & hold shutter button" in my "camera settings".
Because of that, if I hold the shutter button I start a short video instead of triggering the burst shot.
Is there a new way to make burst shots? Did they move the options in a new location that I can't find? Is my device bugged?
"Restore default settings" doesn't work
the burst option have been deleted from menu now for use it you need to hold and swipe left the shutter buttom will take up to 20 pictures
It worked, thank you! I can't believe I couldn't find this on google; not even Xiaomi assistance could help me (they literally said to reset the phone and reinstal the updates... luckily I didn't do it and wrote here instead).
Is there a way to increase the number of pictures, or is 20 the maximum possible?

Hi,
Is there any way to use the keyboard (e.g. ENTER) or the volume keys to take a picture? The lack of shutter button is really bugging me..but either one of these keys would make it a lot more tolerable.
Any one?
Thanks
Have you tried the "OK" button? Works for me
id like this also
As said above, the OK button takes photos.
Thanks didn't know.
Though when closed volume keys would be even better or you'd have to slide every time
I use camera zoom fx which allows for pressing anywhere om screen to take a photo. Makes it easier to take photos when you can't see the screen to hit the touch shutter button
Rooted xt860, debloated and overclocked to 1.1
Camera Zoom FX/Pro in the market allows you to assign the volume keys to a shutter action. Plus, of course, it does a better job than the stock camera app.

Sounds good but it's 3.50 euro
ProCapture allows you to use the volume buttons.

ehm.. no. Free = 0 euro's.
It's not like im asking for advanced camera features. All I want is to change the shutter button from OK to volume button. How hard can it be? Especially in open source world of android..

I'm sure you could extract the app from the /system/app folder, expand it, edit the apk, then replace it on the phone with the edited apk, and see how it works. As to how to do this...IDK, but it can't be that simple if it hasn't been done yet, because many people have requested this be changed.

Well it's been done for galaxy (adjusting the apk). Unfortunately I'm too noob
But I was thinking more simple by e.g. apps that switch around keys when a certain app is opened or something
Please, I don't think we want third party paid apps for just changing one feature. It's more about: "How can we change the BlurCamera.apk to also take photos with the volume buttons".
"/system/usr/keylayout/cdma_solana-keypal.kl”
Replace VOICE to CAMERA etc.

Hehe I was doing some research and just wanted to type this.. But shouldn't we use qwerty.kl?
Anyway can you give a key 2 functions? E.g. volume - = volume - but also camera?

replace a not the commonly used key that is a good method like 'Search'

so i was thing would it be cool if someone could make a mod that would allow us to use are lock button to take images??
Because it this was achieved it would mean that you would be able to take images and videos underwater
So i was thinking maybe if you pressed the lock button whilst on the camera app it would take picture
and if you where to long press the lock button it would activate thee video camera
Anyone think it is possible????
Post request in Q/A, Help section. Already similar threads available on this topic.

Bump
I believe Cyanogenmod has an option for power button shutter
It appears if you have burst mode turned on, there is no way to take a single picture with the half -> full press button sequence. It automatically categorizes it as a burst, even if you only take one. This is annoying because you can't scroll through all images in the gallery. Anyone else experience this?

Why is this in Themes & Apps ??
Because the camera app is an "app"

Change it to another mode if you don't want it to take burst shots..
That's rather the point of that mode really..

You aren't understanding. There is different behavior. Using the soft button, you can take a single shot with a rapid press. You can also rapid press the hard button and get a single shot. Once you use the hardware button with a half press, you get a single shot but in a burst sub folder no matter how fast you press the button. Bug

I'm not sure that's a bug, bro. You turn on burst mode, all photos save in burst folder. Sounds like they probably intended that, unless I'm missing something....

Suggest you please move this thread to "Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting"...
I don't think I can move threads. A mod is free to although you could argue either way for which forum this goes in.
The bug is undeniable. I didn't turn on "burst mode", I turned on "burst on long press" - HUGE difference. Behavior should be the same across different input methods. So pressing the soft button quickly focuses and shoots one normal shot in the gallery. Pressing the physical shutter quickly shoots one normal shot in the gallery. Pressing the physical shutter half way and then fully depressing shoots a single shot but "categorizes" it as a burst shot so even though there is only 1 picture, it shows the burst icon and has its own folder.
Understood your problem, same on my device. The thing is we only want a burst sequence when we press the shutter full for a longer time. If we press it full only once, it should make a normal photo. Thats what i would expect from this function.

bingo
Same for me. Have switched off the function. Shame as there doesn't seem to be another way to take a burst of photos. There's a "timeshift burst" photo app which is nice but it's not the same and only takes low res photos.
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is compatibility for the old camera app on the new One Ui? Or is it possible to port it now or in the future?
Two things make the camera a downgrade when switching to the new One UI, for me at least:
- You had a separate button for video and picture, so you were one touch away from taking either a video or a picture. I had a really nice setup where I could take a video with the volume buttons and open camera and take picture with 1 click of the Bigsby button. This proved really useful when i went horse back riding for the first time, or with gloves on when the screen is not responsive.
- More importantly: You had a dual shot mode where you could take pictures/video with both cameras at the same time. This was really useful when trying to fit more people in a picture, or even for me to be in there, and have a nice memory stored.
They also locked the Bigsby button so you can no longer disable it... again...
Search for the app on apkmirror and try installing it.

I agree with you. I would also like the previous functionality of having both the camera and video buttons on the same screen again.
As far as the Bixby button goes, you can use BxActions to disable and remap the button. It works pretty well.

I do use BxActions, but how do you prevent Bigsby from appearing when you press it? You used to have to disable it from the Bigsby app, and yo no longer have that option.

I disabled my single press function. I only have a long-press function for my flashlight. Bixby doesn't show up for me when I single-, double-, or long-press the button. Occasionally it'll show the icon at the top and it did open Bixby once, but I couldn't figure out under which circumstance that was and I couldn't replicate it again since. Bottom line, Bixby doesn't show up for me when I press the button.
Got this from Sakitech on Youtube... A big thankyou to his show...
Go to stock Gallery app, Hit the 3 dots on the right hand side (around the middle of the screen) to bring out the menu.
Go to Settings>About Gallery.
On the word "version" under the Gallery heading tap 8 times, It should show a count down, to activate Gallery Labs.
Go back to menu and at bottom you should now have Gallery Labs with a whole heap more options including some UI 2.5 options...
Enjoy....
thanks a lot it works
I saw it on some comment on his videos a few weeks ago and been using it since then.

No problem, thought it might be of interest, haven't seen anything about it on the forum...
Also supposed to be able to get photo editor labs when you take a live focus photo, go to the gallery, pick the live focus photo then edit to go into photo editor. You then hold the sticker icon for at least 5 seconds and the photo editor labs comes up with the option to change the depth view of the sticker.
Did work for me with an older version of photo editor but did a factory reset and I'll be buggered if I can get it to work again...
Was a great feature... Hopefully it will make it into the photo editor in a future update...
