General Android 13 GSI is out now. - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

In case anyone is interested , Android 13 GSI is now available to try. Go to developer options>DSU loader. Select the 3rd or 4th for android 13 gsi.

It reboots and then just shows fastboot on my phone with the last two options. What?

It should reboot into Android 13 GSI , no idea why it's not working now.
Edit: It is working , bootloader must be unlocked .

Redmi note 9 project treble

So guyz since our redmi note 9 has a "Project treble" support, can we just directly flash any GSI custom rom from this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development ?! Or its still need a developer modification??
great question
In theory yes, but I had the experience of flashing only with the Adb commands and only on devices with "a only" slots it starts up but remember that the Redmi note 9 has two "a / b" slots so I flashed the other device and it asked me twrp and the file "copy partitions.zip" to start I suppose the same thing will happen on this device, we will wait, I can't test GSI on my note 9 because I have important information and I don't have time but I would already be making reports about it.

I Managed IT to boot 2 different gsis. Lineare OS 18 and caos Android 11. So i think GSI Roms are No Problem. But my Mobile Data was broken in gsis
I suggest you to keep on stock rom firmware only.
Root it with magisk. Flash it with twrp.
And everything is fine.

How To Guide Update to beta MIUI 13 EEA - Xiaomi Beta tester bypass

For those with the bootloader locked and are not beta testers, there is a way to update to newest MIUI 13 (android 12) without losing data. I got the European (EEA) version of Redmi Note 10 Pro, so the links will be for EEA version of ROMS.
Here are the steps to do it:
1. Go to settings - about phone - MIUI version and tap on MIUI 12 6 or 7 times until "additional update futures are on" will pop up
2. Download your current version of MIUI 12 ROM https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.7.0...AGlobal_V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM_03d5ef5aec_11.0.zip. Download it using a browser, do not download it with MIUI updater! It would be recommended to have the last version of MIUI 12, in my case is MIUI 12.5.7.0
3. Download MIUI 13 https://bigota.d.miui.com/V13.0.3.0...AGlobal_V13.0.3.0.SKFEUXM_73299ee316_12.0.zip
4. Put the 2 downloaded ROMS in the same folder, on the internal storage of the phone - for example: internal storage/download/downloaded_rom
5. Go to settings - about phone - MIUI version and tap on the three dots on the right upper side of the screen and select Choose update package, go to folder where your downloaded ROMS are, choose V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM/miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM_03d5ef5aec_11.0.zip and wait until the notification " Your device will reboot automatically to update to MIUI version V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM " appears, DO NOT HIT "REBOOT AND UPDATE" OR CLOSE THE WINDOW!! Simply go to home screen.
6. Go to folder you downloaded the ROMS using file manager and rename miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V13.0.3.0.SKFEUXM_73299ee316_12.0.zip to miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM_03d5ef5aec_11.0.zip, all you have to do is change the name of MIUI 13 ROM with the name of MIUI 12 ROM you have selected in the update of step 5. TO be able to do that you should change something in the name of MIUI 12 ROM name, you can delete the last letters or add some numbers or letters.
7. After changing the name of MIUI ROM go back to update present on recent and press on "Reboot and Update", the update process has started by decrypting the update zip, after decrypt is finished phone will reboot. Now all you have to do is wait for your beloved Redmi Note 10 Pro to apply the new update.
First boot after update will take some time, don`t panic just wait. I did update my Redmi Note 10 Pro by using this method because I have a locked bootloader and I didn`t joined the beta tester program.
This method can be used on all versions of Xiaomi, Redmi phones and all regions (TR, ID, RU, IN, EEA, GLOBAL, TW) by downloading and using the correct ROMS. If your download a wrong version rom, for example if your Redmi Note 10 is using Indonesian version of rom and you have downloaded the global rom updater won`t let you to do the update, a message like Unable to flash Custom ROM will appear.
If YOU choosing to follow this guide, I am not responsible for bricked devices.
This is perfect, just installed it. However it still has old style quick settings, they might change some design in first official build...
Did anyone noticed that it changed the boot up screen? It no longer says Redmi when turning on but rather just the Mi logo. Same goes for the booting process, goes back to the Mi icon with the 3 dots instead of MIUI's letters boot up.
Yes boot up screen logo is new.
Also to anyone considering doing this, it's still in beta as it shows.
It's jittery, laggy and not at all optimized, you won't be able to downgrade unless you have your bootloader unlocked (which I don't because the phone is new so I have to wait 162 hours).
So flasher beware.
Would anyone be able to provide an answer to the problem that I expose below ?
According to what I read on the following French site https://www.nextpit.fr/xiaomi-miui-13-mise-a-jour-smartphones-compatibles, MIUI13 would be based on Android 11 and not on Android 12 ???
It seems to me really curious, even impossible.
Thank you in advance for your opinion.

I don't think you can downgrade, unless you have unlocked bootloader.
I'm running this beta for a few days now without a problem. There should also be official update this month and i'm sure most of the bugs will be fixed.
Hello,
Thank you, thanks to you I installed https://bigota.d.miui.com/V13.0.3.0...AGlobal_V13.0.3.0.SKFEUXM_73299ee316_12.0.zip, and it works very well,
then I installed TWRP twrp-3.6.0_11-0-sweet.img,
then magisk
and finally SystemRW/SuperRW (feat. MakeRW) v1.32.
everything is OK even the RW partition.
1000 times THANK YOU

Actualizado a miui 13 siguiendo el tutorial, sin problemas, ya tengo miui 13, todo operativo junto con android 12
If I install the beta version this way, then when the stable comes, I will be able to install it normally?
Bro I install miui 13 Eea Beta version 13.0.2.0 from recovery ROM . Now I want to go back to miui 13 Eea stable version is there to go to stable ROM without pc
Can confirm this is working. Tricked MIUI to update from 13.0.6.0.SJDEUXM to 13.0.7.0.SJDEUXM. Trying by updater app said "This rom is intended for internal testers". This is f*cking genius xD
Hi ,
I have 13.0.1 installed already on my phone and i want to install it again but get an error "the rom is intended for "internal testers" make sure your account has the required permission" , how can i bypass this ?
theres an easier way, in the updates section just tick the box for receiving updates sooner than everyone else, i had it ticked and it updated a couple week back to 13.0.13 EEA. Much easier than flashing. personally i wouldnt recommend it, my phone came brand new from Xiaomi already loaded with 13.0.3, everything worked great, but since it updated to a Beta the battery life is worse, and the phone gets extremely hot when charging and it does seem slower and laggier. i havent managed to downgrade because bootloader is locked and i really dont want to unlock it and ive never flashed a xiaomi so im not 100% on the process. If i had the choice i would stay away from anything above 13.0.3 until the issues are resolved.

Yes, plenty of videos online and posts regarding downgrading, however it can only be done officially and safely by unlocking the bootloader and flashing the rom you want to go back to and will wipe all your data. that is the only official way, you can upgrade without unlocking, but to downgrade you need to unlock it.

Question Need help with GSI ROM on Redmi note 12 pro 5G (RUBY)

Hello Guys!
I'm thinking to install GSI ROM on my Redmi note 12 pro 5G. I have some experience with custom ROM flashing in TWRP. As far as I know there's no TWRP recovery available for my phone!
Can I flash GSI ROM with Fastboot mode in my device?
If you have experience or some guide for me to Flash GSI, please could you tell me?
And I don't familiar with those terms in GSI ROM name so I'm afraid that I would brick my device or some would go wrong.
I'm planning to flash AOSP 12.1 v416 by PHH or Android 13 Project Elixir.
Redmi note 12 pro should be similar close to Note 10, an A/B device with dynamics partitions
Read here, just find the appropriate GSI image and everything else specific for Note 12 pro

Why should I use a GSI ? Mojito already have custom ROMs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Yes. But this thread exists due to the following reasons: You don't wanna fear about devs stop shipping updates. You don't wanna re-flash your custom recovery / kernel after each...

True, you won't need twrp or any recovery at all to flash gsi.
Step to flash twrp/recovery is optional if you want to get rooted because fastboot doesn't have sideload function. Unless you go for KernelSU, it's a different topic.
Nowadays twrp function starts to decease, unless you need to dump/backup partition without root. I use included recovery from rom for A/B dynamic device
Thanks for the info, I haven't flashed GSI yet. does anyone know any working well rom or recommend ROM for Ruby except MIUI. I will leave my experience after I flashed GSI.Hope some rom for this device will come out!

I bet if the buyers smart enough, they'll mostly will pass buying this. The price is closer to almost a mint second hand of Poco F4, offering almost better in everything except for maybe the main sensor (ov64b vs. imx766). And here we are Poco F4 has already a headstart in custom rom community.
And if you're willing to let go the OIS, Poco F3 isn't that bad either, price nowadays should be the same, its only disadvantages are slower charging and again, main sensor (imx586 vs imx766).
And the last, not to mention that Poco F5 is just around the corner... That should put some coffin nails to Redmi note 12 Pro.

What I said was: if you're looking for a particular good phone with a good custom roms support, and if you want it now, or very quickly from now, Poco F4 is already here, and its price is very close to Note 12 Pro with same feature and even more potent SoC. And if custom roms in Poco F4 aren't adequate, there's also Poco F3, its community is more active than F4, new one old stock F3 should be priced similar to Note 12 Pro, only if you're willing to loose the fast 67w charger and OIS in Note 12 Pro.
But if you still want Note 12 Pro with custom rom... Well, that's up to you. I didn't say it wouldn't see any custom rom, it just... looks less interesting than the others two.
Redmi Note 8 Pro is the most active for MTK device as far as I know, and for more two years consecutive after its release, it was ridden by a lot of issues. It was ironed out very lately, just after A12 out, and sadly most people has already moved out. Another one was Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9, merlin and lancelot, again, most their roms stay on A11 firmware because latest A12 firmware gives a lot of headache. I've seen some development on Note 10s (evoX) and Poco M4 Pro (ported roms?), which those are MTK, but again, they're very slow and they had been released earlier than Note 12 Pro, but to be honest, those devices didn't bring the same attractive to Note 12 Pro.
If those aren't providing enough for arguments... Its closest rival is their own Poco X5 Pro, which again uses more common and widespread soc in custom rom community, the SD 778g, which it has some development on similar device such Mi 11 Lite 5g. Xiaomi 12 Lite also uses SD 778g, still hasn't seen any development yet.
tl;dr: there are many xiaomi devices, even the "flagship" Xiaomi 12 or Xiaomi 12 Pro, has yet seen any custom roms. I'd say: stick to existing community or any "its looks more guaranteed to be supported by community" devices rather than hoping this one would have one in the future.

You got the point, you are right. MTK are very slow in development.
I've flashed 2 GSI ROM (Acient OS, Project Elixir) today.
For somehow, I can't flash vbmeta because it made phone to bootloop when I tried to go fastboot on cmd. Project Elixir is lastest version and it have this strange bug that can't connect to internet via wifi even with VPN and DNS Change. Everything is working fine.
But those two ROM have same issue sharing that's brightness can't be decrease or increase and Screen is flickering in every 5 sec or so.
I didnt test camera with GCam since I've to prepare for my work trip. I may write more later about them.

I did flash with MIUI 14 and successfully.
I erase user data, system, cache and A/B partition too.
I would use them if I have time to solve all the problem for myself and I think it's usable as daily rom.
The only problem I face is I can't flash vbmeta and it cause me bootloop to fastboot.
And important things is if you are in fastboot mode, phone screen show as FASTBOOTD
if not you are still in bootloader.
I use
Fastboot getvar is-userspace
Before
Fastboot boot fastboot

That doesn't sound as a working solution.
Your are writing .... If I have time to solve all the problem for myself ....
So what does that mean ?
And .....

is also stupid. In a and b slots are the boot, vbmeta, system_vbmeta. So if you erased a and b slots, it can't boot without boot partition.

Question GSI REBOOTS - Solved but Open

okay so ive tested a number of treble GSI's on SM-X200 but im finding that the device randomly reboots on all Android 13 GSIS, now when i say reboots im talking about youve set up, youve loaded the tablet, your just using your tablet as you normally will and the device reboots
Lineage OS 19 works perfectly fine without reboots, but as soon as i flash LOS20 GSI it reboots all the time
What makes it even more strange is when i install Android 14 Beta GSI i get no reboots, but then i have another problem where my Device cant connect to any bluetooth Devices, so the GSI itself is really stable, but i use Bluetooth Earphones, and Googles Android GSIS dont have the PHH settings menu, which fixes the problem on all other roms
Any Sugguestions on how to fix? im stumped

i advice against installing any android 13 gsis, i have tested rooted/unrooted, Magisk Rooted, and Inbuilt superuser
Ive tried every single android 13 gsi out there, AOSP, ArrowOS, Evolution X, you name it, ive tried android 12, 12L and 13 roms, If you have any questions about other specific roms and my results feel free to ask me, but as a general rule, Android 12 works fully on lighter roms, but Android 13 is a Glitchfest

As a general rule, if the image is a very basic image without the modifications so for example AOSP 12, that is generally smaller in size it works, if you get a really heavily modified system, to pull some out of a hat Evolution X, Project Elixir they get stuck on the Samsung screen and just sit there for days, so the smaller roms android 12 work really well, but the bigger ones don't
However Android directly from the developer site works even on android 13, 14, the only drawback if there's no compatibility layers for bluetooth

By this, I meant does the "Samsung Galaxy" text appear once, disappear, then reappear again? If so, then the tablet is going through a kernel panic/crash. One major way of knowing this is when music playing through the speakers repeats and then stops after a bit. Another way of knowing is if a chunk of text appears at the top left of the screen.

sounds familliar, and yes when it reboots to the samsung logo, theres some script in the top left, then it reboots again, if thats the case is there currently a fix?
Are you rooted? If so, check out /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops-0 and send me its contents.
If you can't do that, do you use mobile data?
Do I have to be using one of the roms thats causing the reboot in order to get the information you need, if so I'll flash one now and get you the information, yes rooted with magisk 26.1

For an idea...I'd try patching again with either Magisk 25.2 or Delta. 26 has been giving a lot of people trouble, especially with Samsung devices
Whatever caused the kernel panic was resolved by refreshing stock firmware, including repartition, and refreshing los20 its not doing it now, I'll pay close attention to what happens from here, I'm using the latest los20 gsi from June, there's 2 possibility, the less likely being the new rom had something change thats stopped the device getting irritated, but the most likely thing is that in refreshing stock firmware and flashing los20 after something got fixed that was broken, either way, working now

Yeah I figured that all out...but larger ROMs like Evolution and Elixir based off of A12 don't work as well? Just tried the A13 based ones

Non Treble gsis work, I tried a leaf os gsi that didn't support Treble, and everything worked, Google gsis have a Bluetooth issue which don't work on audio devices, everything else works perfectly, I'm pretty sure there's a magisk patch for the audio problem
