Sony Experia V - LT25i Jelly bean/Lollipop. - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I have a old one with android version 4.1.2 and want to try 4.3 jelly bean first. We're to find a official update? And is it hard to update? This phone should be on 32gb according to sites but i only got 3.71gb. Is the SD card on 32gb on total?

Thanks. Is it complicated to update? I have read about updating to lineage and it seems like a lot of work. Is it the same for this?

XperiFirm: I guess it only got 4.3 Avaible firmware 9.2.A.2.5-R4J. I want the lollipop so i can install snapchat. Were and how to install lolipop?

I have read that snapchat locks accounts to rooted phones so what is the best to install to get snapchat to work? 4.4 android version is required.

It takes 4.4 to run snapchat so this seems hard.

[Q] How to install Sony Android 4.4 on a rooted Xperia Z.

HI, I rooted my Xperia Z to 4.3 Android (Sony's version) but I can't install Sony's version of 4.4 android via Sony's PC Companion software as I have rooted the device and unlocked the bootloader.
Also, if I get 4.4 on my Xperia Z, how to root that?
Thanks

Maybe you should investigate what the latest Android version is instead of asking something that no one will be able to answer.
Link me one 4.4 topic plz.

The latest official android version for sony xperia z is 4.3, but you can download custom rom for your device, by installing clockwork mode and then flashing the rom.
You can search over for the custom recovery and how to install it and then just download your desired kitkat rom and copy it to the phone, then flash it in recovery mode.
Cheers.

I would add, and remind you, that a unlocked bootloader is required in order to install whatever cyanomodgen rom

[Q] Updating to a newer ROM version

Hi,
I am currently on 4.1.2 12.0.A.2.254, rooted eXistenZ Ultra 3.X (LB).
If I am to upgrade to the newest eXistenZ Ultra 4, would I first need to update my stock firmware to 12.1.A.1.205, re-root, apply latest Doomkernel etc. and then flash the ROM or does the ROM already contain the newest firmware and kernel?
I know the set of instructions are on the second post, however, I just wanted to verify if this method is outdated for the newest ROM update.
Thank you.
Seems that updating the firmware also updates the corresponding kernel.
Please close thread, thanks.
the Existenz thread provides a direct link to the zip file for the existenz rom u mentioned... the ZIP file is not an OTA instead its an entire ROM of around 756MB.. its the latest version 4.0.0 based on latest xperia firmware 12.1.A.1.205 ... just download the ZIP.. flash it using any recovery... after flashing again install another recovery u want and root the device...
try it bro...
all the best... :good:

[INFO]WARNING: Android 5.0 Bootloader and Kitkat Compatibility

Android 5.0 (Lollipop) Bootloader and KitKat Compatibility
Everyone wants Lollipop, however it is worth considering some of the possible consequences of upgrading via OTA update.
Bootloader:
A new Bootloader (BL) will almost certainly be included in the OTA update. It is also very likely no KitKat Kernel, stock or custom will be able to boot properly with the 5.0 BL. Perhaps the Kernel DEVs can find a workaround.
Root: (ETA: Unknown)
It may take some time to gain root access on Lolipop as on other devices this has required a custom Kernel. A custom kernel itself may require kernel sources to be released - something that has taken weeks / months in the past.
Xposed Framework:
Developer has said he will wait for CyanogenMod based on Lollipop before properly starting development of an ART version of Xposed. CM12 may take a few weeks to release. Expect to do without Xposed for at least a month, probably longer since root is also required (see above.)
Custom Recovery:
This has not been an issue before, but it is always possible a new Bootloader could break compatibility with existing Custom Recoveries. Obviously, you would not be able to restore a CWM / TWRP backup without a functional custom recovery; but even then, it is unlikely you will be able to boot your KitKat backup.
Custom ROMs:
This is another area that could be affected by a new Bootloader. It is unknown if existing custom ROMs will require new Kernels / system changes in order to work with the new BL - something that could take days, weeks or months.
Performance:
Currently the performance difference between KitKat and Lollipop is unknown. If the first release of Lollipop for Android One has performance issues, you may be unable to revert back to stock KitKat.Possible solution:
Wait for a flashable zip [NOT OTA Update zip] of Stock Android One Lollipop ROM - this would mean your Bootloader remains at it's current version and potentially allowing you to change 'back and forth' between Stock KitKat and Stock Lollipop. However, it is currently unknown if the newer BL is a requirement for Android 5.0 Kernels.
This is taken from the Moto G thread and all credits goes to @lost101.The sole motive of this is to create awareness about the new bootloader included in 5.0
Thanks For The Info @DC07 :highfive:
Thanks For The Information Bruda !!
This thing is only for device like motorola, samsung etc.. As I never saw same thing for nexus.. Motorola does not allow to downgrade so they update bootloader in every android version update.. I dont think it will be same for sprout

Nope. The bootloader was updated on my nexus 7 flo for the 4.4.2 OTA. Since this update is much bigger I think we'll have a bootloader update too.

How to root ?

Hello,
I have an F8132 with the build 41.3.A.2.149 under Android 8.0.0. My bootloader can be unlocked (but is not).
I'm pretty new to xda and I've browse the forum but the latest guide to root this phone are from 2016 and not for this version.
So is there a new way to root this phone available or can you give me a link to root this version of the F8132 ?
With me having past experience with Sony devices. You can't just flash magisk using a recovery of choice and boom. Sadly, Sony thought of this. You will either need a modded version of stock or a custom kernel due stock with rooting unlocked
Existenz Oreo for example has this unlocked and extra customisation

Official ROM Downloads

I have got a completed build of Android 13_r12, fully built from Sony's AOSP instructions, but...
Im a bit weary about flashing it to my phone, as i have no way of flashing back to stock, since i dont know where i could find an official sony rom to put my phone back the way it was before the flashing of android 13.
Does anybody have a link to the stock sony roms?
