I have the problem with camera's focus when I'm trying to scan barcode/QR code from within the web based App (I need to upload the scans). Everything is blurry. The phone camera is working normal. I able to scan barcodes with QR scanner, and close pictures taken with Magnifier all are also in focus. May be I have to edit build.prop file?
Also, I would like to install the HDR Snap camera app to try to take the barcode scans but don't know how to make it as a default camera app to upload the taken scans.

Hi,
as you can read in the headline I have a problem with the main camera app on my unrooted Sgs (Froyo 2.2 through Kies). Every time I take a picture with one of the special camera features (panorama, coupling shot, etc) it starts the process and everything goes.fine until it tries to show the results but it just shows the last taken picture of the standard setting.
However when I restart my phone all the pictures I did are there, even in the right order.
I think either the camera app are the gallery app are broken or even something else.
I tried to replace both apps with SGS-tools from the market but nothing happens (I think I need root for that?).
Other file browsers aren't showing the pictures too.
Anyone else having the problem?
Is it possible to temporary root my phone with z4root to replace the apps and unroot again or wouldn't you recommend that?
Thank you a lot.

Edit: it seems I can access the pictures through the file browser but it takes a looooong lag before finally showing them in the gallery app and it only shows them in poor quality (panorama pictures are pixelated like hell ) until I restart.
Its so weird since I don't have any problems when shooting in standard mode.

I'm currently running KillRom build date 1/4/13 Android 4.2.1
The camera app itself and other camera apps like Instagram work fine, but other apps that use the camera like Google Goggles and Barcode Scanner by Zxing don't work, just capture a single frame from the camera and just freeze as soon as the app is launched.
Anyone know if this is a known issue or if there is a workaround?
Thanks
I have downloaded several different apps to allow me to take pictures remotely via wi-fi. The shots are fine but every app tried gives pictures that are focussed on infinity. I have tried around 8 different apps, and tried every focus option available on the camera. Even apps that offer autofocus as an option that can be ticked, the shots are stuck focussed on the background. Feedback from app developers tells me that their apps all work with every Android camera they have tested except the Xperia. Is there a workaround?

For a while now, I haven't been able to zoom in/out properly using camera apps that I've found on the app store (particularly Z Camera and Camera360). The problem is that when these camera apps are open, the image you see does not zoom. So if I pinched zoomed (or even used the volume keys to zoom), the live view you see does not zoom. However, once you actually take a picture, then the zoom actually shows up. Here's an example to hopefully clarify the problem:
Using the Camera360 app, I pinch zoom to 8x but don't take the picture yet. The live picture view on my screen stays at 1x even though I zoomed to 8x. Then, I take the picture and when I view/open it, the image is truly zoomed in to 8x.
As you can probably guess, this issue is a bit frustrating since you can't really tell how much you've zoomed in/out until after you take the picture. The strange thing is that the stock camera app works perfectly (no zoom problems).
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active-i537. This problem existed when I had UCUAMF3 (4.2.2) as my firmware. I've done a factory reset, and that didn't solve the issue. I just installed UCUCNE3 (4.4.2) in hopes of fixing the problem, but that also hasn't helped.
Any ideas as to what's causing this issue and how to fix it?
I recently disabled the Google Photos app as I had no need for it and was bothered by its intrusion. However, when I used my Google Camera and then attempted to edit the shot, I was met with a message that said something to the effect that 'I could not edit my photos with the Google Photos app disabled.'
Is there some way around this without enabling Photos, or do I need to switch to a different camera app? And if the latter, would GCAM give me a comparable photo experience?
I believe you just need to install another photo app but it will not be integrated with the camera app (have to open the pics/vids with the other photo app separately). I've been using xgallery but find the ads a bit too annoying. Will see if I can get the LineageOS's gallery installed (don't know if it's possible.)
