Hello guys, I need someone, who can check something for me.
I'm using Redmi Note 10 Pro with MIUI 13.0.10, Android 12, EEA region (with Google Dialer). I'm bothered, because every time I answer incoming call, there is a "call forwarded" arrow before phone number on a call screen. Basically, earlier I saw it only, when I was calling someone and I was redirected to his voicemail. I'm attaching two screenshots - one is incoming call (with arrow), and the second is outgoing call (without arrow). Maybe I'm getting a little bit paranoid, but I would love to know that it is something new in Google Dialer and everyone now sees this arrow and I'm not being wiretapped by someone. My Google Dialer version is the latest version from Google Play - 87.0.468061598.
I would really appreciate if anyone can check it for me.
Hi! I've notice the same issue today, only during incomings answer. Have you found any info about It?
In my case is a Mi 11 Lite 5G, MIUI 13.0.9, Android 12

Thank you very much for your response, I'm glad I'm not the only one Well, since there are two of us, we can assume that it is either a feature or a bug of a new version of Google dialer or MIUI 13. Or we both are being wiretapped BTW, what is your country and your service provider? Poland/PLAY here.

Spain/DIGI here.
I hope is a MIUI 13 bug. On my husband's phone, with same mobile and provider doesn't appear but it is still in MIUI 12.
Maybe we both are person of interest

Maybe, who knows... One more thing - is your phone rooted? Do you use any call recording software by any chance? Because I'm using Call Recorder by SKVALEX, maybe it is related. Oh, and one more thing - I started to notice it just after updating to MIUI 13 / A12. In MIUI 12.5 / A11 it wasn't present.

Nope, I haven't rooted phone. I use the Google Dialer from factory and haven't installed any Call Recorded. I would swear It happens since yesterday or maybe three days ago, al least I haven't notice before. But I update to MIUI 13 a few weeks (or maybe a month) ago. As I said, on another phone with MIUI 12 doesn't appeared. Idk if there has been a second upgrade in MIUI 13 this week or something.
I was worried about charges on the bill but apparently the forwarding call is inactive.

Yup, my billing looks OK as well. There was an update to a new main version of Google Phone (v86 -> v87) recently. I don't know the exact date, but it was about 20th August. New features like this are mostly released with the main version update, so maybe that's the case. Maybe update on your phone didn't installed instantly, but after some days? And the second question is - why does the same Google Phone version look different on exactly the same version of app, but on different phone? Maybe it's also Android 12 related.

I think I fixed it but no idea why it was happening xD I downgraded the Google Dialer version (actually wanted to uninstall it but only got the old version from the Play Store) and now the arrow is gone.
Maybe it's just a bug after all.

I was going to try the Google Dialer downgrade as well when I have some time, so thank you very much for reporting back, now I don't have to do it myself Well, then we can assume that it is not a bug, but a new feature - pretty cool if you ask me - but now they have to change "call forwarded" icon to something else, so people don't get confused. Have a nice evening!

Hi all,
I am experiencing an issue with voice activation commands on my XZ. wondered whether anyone has any advice on how to fix.
Basically, using Google Now I can get about 3 voice commands that work then I keep getting a "Didn't catch that. Try speaking again" message straight away on pushing the microphone icon. I also checked it voice commands from the keyboard (using both Swiftkey and the Xperia keyboard) and get the same issue.
It is something that I have noticed happening only in the last couple of days. I will wait for the new update and then try a factory reset but was wondering whether anyone has encountered anything like this before?
Thanks,
L

Any fix found?
Hi,
first i had no problem when i used my HTC One mini 2. But now everybody who calls me or when i call someone else the other one has an sizzling noise and sometimes they even do not hear anything from me. But i can here them.
Someone an idea why??
My phone also has the mic problem. Seems that dual mic in this phone is faulty.
I'm waiting for software update (which should have been in August-September). If it doesn't fix the issue, than I`ll return it to service.
I asked the telekom and they told me i need to go to an store of them. But i read in the internet, that this is not only a htc bug. It seams there are some more android 4.4.2 devices (from lg) that have the same problem. Is this an hardware problem (htc), android (google), or can this also be an app??
Hi there,
i've the same bug with my phone.
It startet with the last system update and it's a terrible thing. Almost every call has this background sound or the other side can't hear anything. A small workaround wich i found is to switch to the speaker for a few seconds and then switch back to phone...
but on the next call it's starting again.
Are there any news out there that this is going to be fixed or can we do something by our selfs?
So before the system update you hadn't this problem?? That'S interesting, because in this case there is no hardware bug :victory:
So i think you all have this version:
Android 4.4.2
Sense 6.0
Software-Number: 2.16.111.3
HTC SDK API: 6.21.
Is there maybe someone who has an newer Version/older where is no sizzling noise while phoning??

Yes, i think it's an software bug because the phone was working without any problems for the first 7 days and the bug started right after the OTA update. In addition the mic is working very well in recording audio or anything else except phone calls.
I'm running this version as vodafone brand:
Android 4.4.2
Sense 6.0
Software-Number: 2.16.161.1
HTC SDK API: 6.21
I'll get an hardware exchange on thurseday. hoping to get a fully working phone ... maybe you can get this as well ?

yes i hope so. But i need to go to my Telekom Shop and i'm on hollidays next week So i have no time at the moment
==EDIT==
Try this and make Audio test. if you have the noise for this test, too it's an hardware problem and you need to contact HTC. If not it's an software problem. (Answer from HTC).

Hey,
thanks for the tip.
i've got a exchange phone on tuesday and it's working fine so far. No problems anymore and it uses the same system version. so most likely it is really an hardware fault.

I hope they'll send me a new phone as soon as they did for you
i also have that on the call receiver end. its fainted but noticeable.
My first handset was like this, intermittent crackling and noise, so I sent it back. Since then I've been sent and returned 4 of handsets in total, all of the others were worse than the first!
Anyone thinking about buying a HTC One Mini 2 from o2 in Gunmetal Grey - I'm pretty sure the whole box of them is shot!
After I signed up for the Pie beta on my U1 Note and upgraded to ZRKP, although I see the option for "Caller ID and spam protection" being turned ON, it does not work any more.
Any number I dial out (that are not in my contacts) or any incoming call I receive, Smart Call seems to be resting.
I cleaned up cache in both SmarCall app and the Phone - but to no avail.
Anyone else is experiencing this issue?

HD Calling and VoLTE (They're the same thing) should be working. I know it works on Oreo U1 on TMB. But maybe it's not implemented on the beta yet. Honestly I haven't thought to check for it.

I am on Verizon and ZRLL beta (latest), Smart Call is still not working. Hopefully, the official Pie will fix it.
I'm in the same boat. Unlocked Note 8 on 2nd beta of Pie and Smart Call simply doesn't work. I really do not want to download anything 3rd party. Hoping it works in the official release.
I'm also wondering if it has anything to do with Hiya going to a paid subscription.
I'm writing from Turkey, I have also unlocked note 9. after i updated my phone to pie, smart call stoped working. I've reached someone from Samsung Turkey they told me to do somethinks ( inc. factory reset ) it didn't solve my problem. As i read some forums the problem comes from pie... Hope samsung would fix this issue.
this is a a annoying glitch that has been happening as far back as android 10 update, i have been between miui stock and miui EU (current) but the issue is persistent. the only temporary fix is to keep erasing the apps data and then i can call and receive. i suspest its a android 10 permission glitch but i am unsure. i have already shot a email to facebook but i wanted to know of anyone here has that issue.

I don't think this has anything to do with the phone or the Android version. I would suspect that it has to do with voice com on LTE, much like VoLTE with ordinary phone calls. There is a special protokoll that is supposed to be in use for media sound as communication sound, IMS.
I once got an advice to install a Google system app from Play Stor by the name Carrier Services and this is supposed to help with IMS related communications like Voice over LTE. Best is to reboot the phone after installing this service.
This is just a suspicion not a solid, first hand experience as I have never had problems with calls on Facebook Messenger.

Sorry if I confused you by mentioning VoLTE! Facebook Messenger doesn't use VoLTE but it may still use IMS, the same communication protocol. So if I were you I would try to install Carrier Services by Google from the Play Store anyway, you have nothing to lose by doing this.
hello everyone ,
so i have 2 10s phones . i updated mine to 13.0.6 and its fine
my brother updated his but his phone was unusable since
first his phone app stopped registering Call history. and once u make a phone call the volume of the phone just goes down to like 10% even when its at max and it stays like this until you restart
also when this happens when he sends a voicenote the voice has no sound in it
also when we try to adjust volume there are 2 level bars instead of the normal 1 (check the screenshot below)
https://imgur.com/a/PHuWsWw
when we restart the phone it works fine. but once we make a phone call the same error occurs again .. the phone is unusable
here is what i tried :
clearing cache/data of phoneapp
downgrading the phoneapp (uninstalling updates)
messing around with permissions/audio settings
then i factory reset the phone then it worked for about 10 hours
but after the 5th phone call it happend again and now it keeps happening
help please i dont want to flash an older miui version because i still have warranty
Hello, I am also using a Redmi Note 10s and after updating my phone to MiUi 13.0.6.0 I am having issues during calls as well. Whenever I call using Whatsapp or other apps (e.g Zoom) there are voice cuts so the receiver cannot hear me properly. I have ruled out weak WiFi as a problem as when I call using other devices using the same internet connection I do not face any issues during calls. I also tried testing the inbuilt microphone by sending voice messages and it seems that the mic is fine cause the voice messages are clear. I don't know what could be causing this but my guess would be that its a bug with the new MiUi version.

I also have the same problem..
1. Sound distorted while listening music and watching videos.
2. Mic not working properly (the other person on the call be like that I'd muted phone)
3. Youtube lags ( video not playing properly)
4. Pubg sound/mic
5. If they called me and when I answered the call.. the messenger or any social media be like app not responding.

Facing same issue after Miui13 update. Redmi Note 10s. Other party can't hear me on the other end. Was never like that till i did the update. Xiaomi sure knows how to frustrate one. Any fix yet? Love from Nigeria.
Sadly, I am still facing the issue. My phone is useless now since I can't make calls with it. I think Xiaomi will have to send out a new update to fix the issue as it seems to be software related. So, we will have to wait till then I guess which sucks.
Stumbled on this thread after a relative complained of same issue on their Redmit Note 10s
voice cutting mid way in call, so similar mic issues as reported
On 13.06 (INDIA)
I have factory reset the phone and setup as new, issue still persists
It's out of warranty so I doubt Xiaomi will do much
What are my options, custom ROM or rollback to 12 ?
