Question Optimised night charging (smart charging) on wireless charger - OnePlus 10 Pro

Hejsan!
Does anyone know if 'Optimised night charging' should work/is going to work also when charging wireless?
The graph showed that the battery level went up around 60% in 4 hours (22:00 - 02:00) from 40% directly to 100%.

When charging at night I want it to go as slow as possible. And theoretical ~50%/4 hours is a full charging when sleeping, so that looks ok.
But now it was 'charging' from 02:00 untill 6:15 also. Keeping it up there. Instead I like to see that it keeps the charge at 80% and then finishes charging from 04:00 tot 06:00 or something.
I do have quite a stable going-up schedule. It might be a one hour difference. My going to sleep time fluctuates all the time.
Am I just waiting for the optimised charging to kick in when it has decided 'now is the time', or is it not an option for wireless charging att all?
I have my phone 6 weeks now, had vacation and all, so the 'stable' sleeping and waking times have just begun. Plus I changed from normal/wire charging (not 80W) to wireless 15W charging, then wireless 10W, and now maybe 5 or 7,5W wireless, overtime.
Anyway, a lot of info for a short question. Thank you.
/Henk

My way around this is to use a timer switch on the wall outlet. I use a 500mA charger and program the timer switch to come on around 4 hours before I wake up in the morning.
One problem I need to mitigate is if my phone is very low on battery when I go to bed and will shut down during the night before charging commences. This means the alarm won't work. For this reason, I think a slow 500mA charger is a better choice because it can be programmed to switch on earlier in the night than a 1000mA or higher output charger. I might also set my phone to flight mode if the battery is very low when I go to bed.
Have been charging overnight like this for about a year now and it works for me.

Which ROM / Kernel are you on? Are you sure the battery is actually charging? If possible try another battery / your battery in another Note.. Are you charging from USB or Wall charger?
I had an issue with both my girlfriend's and my Note where they showed the charging icon when plugged in, yet they were not charging at all, Issue was resolved by changing the USB cable I was using from the wall plug to the phone.. Solved it for both phones..
i think this either means the battery is tonked or the charger is tonked :silly: Check with a different charger.. If it is USB type charger, change the cable and check.. Even with a different charger if it is the same, change the battery and check.. Hope this helps

In my case I fixed it by running a small file on the battery contacts on the device (very carefully) and on the battery. They seem pretty susceptible to moisture.
My battery was showing Over Voltage and as if the USB charger was connected when in fact it wasn't.
The above fixed it for me!
Cheers!

If you are on an overclocked version of kernel try changing to std version.

Battery after Qi Charging

Hi all
Is it just me or after charging the device via Qi Wireless charger, does the battery drain quicker??
I charge mine via QI every night. It get great battery life. No issues at all.
Sent from my Droid Turbo using Tapatalk
Well I've gone from 49% too 38% in the time it took for you to reply! Reboot sorts it but still!!
Nope, no issues here, if check your battery page and see what is causing the drain. I get a full day of usage even with my heavy usage
It might be the charger. Have you tested it with other phones?
QI chargers actively communicate with phones while they charge them, so it could be that the charger is telling the phone it's getting more power than it actually is.
90% of my charging is done on Qi pad on night stand and I get phenomenal battery life.

Maybe it's just the case of the battery meter being screwy....as it seems to jump hideously...turbo charger is fine.
I get great battery life, I'm on the maxx though, I had the turbo for a month on tmobile. I had to tether for about an hour so it dropped my battery down 15%. But 2.5 hours of SOT and 16 hours off the charger. Connected to my moto 360 as well.

you could have a calibration issue, here's how to fix it;
plug in to your turbo charger,
press and hold the power button till the phone shuts off (on it's own, not just the power off prompt), keep holding the power button,
it will flash a battery icon and then show the charge %, make sure it matches what the os said (if you're mis-calibrated, it will not),
you can turn it back on, but leave it on the turbo charger till it's %100.
Some odd charger methods cause this issue (like usb3.0 ports)..
Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the info. With my phone showing 16% I turned off the phone as you suggested and it immediately showed 75%!! So I'm continuing to charge on Turbo charger.
Is this a known issue then? Any other posts about it and what causes it?

I just goy myself a new LG Watch Urbane.

I tried
- changing cable
- plugging it into the PC's USB
Did I get a broken cradle? Any ideas before I return this?
This happened to me when brand new. When in the cradle, try pushing down the watch a little on the side that has the charging pins. This worked for me.
Charging problem
After a two-month use, suddenly it started not to charge and there is big battery image on the screen.
Can anyone tell me what the exact problem is, is it from the watch or cradle?
Thanks in advance.
I could not post the image but the image I have is the same battery symbol within the above picture but full screen without any text.
just got this watch today myself and i am having the same issue? anyone with a fix?
thanks
did anyone find a fix for this?
Same issue here. Brand new out of the box.
Same situation here, after start all updates connecting to phone ect battery lvl goes down to 78%,
when checking after 2h it was 74% but watch switched off suddenly.
Started charging and it goes from 0% but v.slow, after 2h 5% but then after 10min shown 100%
strange now is 98% but will obserw why and what is wrong.

I'm having the same issue. My BRAND NEW Urbane has been charging for 2 hours and it's on 3%. This is AFTER it dropped to NOTHING from 78% earlier today. It's telling me it has an update to install but can't do it until it reaches 40%. I hope mine corrects itself like yours did, I'm so bummed out. I just got it today.
Brand new urbane here. Arrived completely dead, can't set up until 20%, been at 2% for an hour. Painfully slow.
I know the cause with my similar issue
It's the power supply. I swapped it out for an old Motorola charger I love had for a year's. Same amperage and voltage (+.1). It's charging, again.

Xiaomi Mi A2 charging issue

I have a mi a2 and it has some problem with charging. Whenever i connect it to a charger, it charges for a second, then stops and then starts again. Because of this, i cannot charge my phone when its on. To charge it, i have to turn it OFF and then it charges VERY slowly and gets to about 80% overnight after 8-9 hrs.
I have tried charging it with different cables so its def. a phone issue.
I know its not a software issue because my phone just got the android 10 update and its still not charging.
After reading some forums, i figured out i should replace the USB port as its the most fragile part. So i bought a usb flex port from ebay and replaced the original port, but then the phone stopped charging completely.
It still kept doing the stupid charging-not charging cycle, but when powered off, it couldnt charge.
Im not sure now if I should buy battery from ebay or not because i think i got ripped with the usb port.
BTW i live in Denmark and i have imported an Indian model and there are absolutely no shops here that repair Xiaomi phones.
What should i do? Suggestions?
Edit: im not sure if this is related or not, but i started getting the problem after i tried charging the phone with a pixel fast charger
This is definitely the hardware problem.
Either your cable , voltage or power related circuits.
However, I don't think it's battery problem.
Consider your situation, I think find a electrician, or electrical engineer (who can deal with electrical board) is highly recommend.

In my MI A2 device, I've been using custom rom and whenever i plugged in my device there is no charging when phone is on so I've to switch off the phone to charge it and when i connect it to laptop it is not showing as well. I've done everything in my knowledge to remove this problem and atlast I've to roll back to stock firmware of device running on Android 10 but that problem is not gone completely. In status bar there is a permanent pop up of ''Charging connected device via USB" and when i plugged my device I've to switch it to 'This Device' from 'Controlled Device' in USB Preferences. It is not charging normally when i plugged in.
please share any answer regarding that I've done everything but can't fix it.

Question Does the OneUI 4 / Android 12 Beta have a charge-limit / battery protection feature?

Please confirm.
Thanks.
Is it 85% max?
I wish we could set it manually to something like 40% too.

Does this require a restart OR does the battery just stay at 85% despite being plugged in?
Does it switch to bypass charging?
I wonder if they've released the source-code for this.
on s21 ultra. at 14%, it shows 36m until full (85% max).

Yep, but it says to full even if there is adjusted to 85%, charging stops at 85, tried to restart device whit plugged cable, after reboot dropped to 84 and stucked on 84 for cable unplug

I don't understand.
Is it drawing power from the cable whilst at 85% in order to stay there? (called bypass charging)

Nope. When I unplugged phone in the morning it had dropped to 82. So seems to stop at 85 and shuts off. Maybe to only start charging again after you unplug and plug back in? Haven't tested that theory
I like the option regardless
