Question Oneplus 10 Pro NE2215 can't install updates - OnePlus 10 Pro

Hey guys! When trying to update to A16, I get this error, same issue I had before with A14, any tips on what I should do to get my phone updated to the latest fw? Happens every time I try to update to the latest.

I would recommend you to download Oxygen Updater and install the full image from them.
This should solve your issue and if not after update from the full image, just reset your device and set it up as new. That's what did the trick for me.

There's no full image unfortunately NE2215 is weird.
Local upgrade fails at 99% too, even after disabling or straight up uninstalling modules.
@dladz any tips?

same here . tried updater app also. fails at 99%

I switched to NE2211, did not check the system update. now i am back on NE2215 and saw this.

resetting wont make any difference.. are you boot loader unlocked? mine is unlocked.

For me when I switched to NE2213 I had to reset the device and then the updates started to install.

when switching from one to another, it does not boot without factory reset first.

You'd need the full update, plus you'd need the newest local installer from the OnePlus community guide.
I'm on NE2213 and the updates I install are all full zips never incremental.
The only time I've ever seen a failure at 99% is when I was using the wrong local update APK whilst I was rooted.
My advice is use the rollback zip to switch to ne2213..., you'll probably find your internet improves from doing so too.

I was using the link from oxygen updater, which is a pretty generic url that appears to be "latest" etc.
Are you sure I wont lose some 5G bands for switching to global? I'm in NA and using the NA firmware so I'm just trying to think if I'll lose any signal strength

Use the full zip here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-a-15-full-zips-na-in-eu.4482915/#post-87371753 for a.15 then you should be able to update without any problems. Also when rooting the phone it's always best to fastboot boot the patched magisk boot.img then use direct install. Magisk will then back up original boot.img and you will be able to restore it later when update comes then all you have to do everytime you get an update is choose restore images in magisk update but don't reboot then go back in magisk and choose install to inactive slot after ota and reboot and your good to go

They're not rollback zips in oxygen updater however you do need to turn on full from there on in..and no you won't lose bands, you'll probably gain a better signal based on previous reports.
Use the rollback zip from the OnePlus community android 13 beta 2 thread.
Once rolled back you should only use the full zips from oxygen updater with the the newest local install APK.
Pic below from oxygen updater, make sure to use the advanced settings.

Thank you!! I moved over to NE2213!

AFAICT Identical? Not sure. Only been a couple hours and I didn't use my phone much

I was able to flash only full package zips from local upgrade. but
then i install oxygenos 13 via local upgrade. after that did same with rollback to oxygenos 12 and that fixed the issue. now i can upgrade to any OTA which is coming...

Question Is there a way to force/download OTA updates?

Ok guys, I'm new to MIUI so please be gentle
So I'm on stock MIUI 12.5.4 global (RKAEUXM) but there is a 12.5.6 out (also RKAEUXM).
I have no intentions of rooting etc. and I wonder if there is a way to download/force just the OTA?
Is saw the Google answers where it says set region to India etc, but that does not work (also tried with vpn)..
Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!

Hey thanks for taking the time to answer my question..
Your first link brings me to a blank page with only an add for MIUI community app.
Your second link shows a download page which doesn't show a version, only says "global" and actually also say "modified copy" in Chinese.
So yeah, I'm not going to just risk that if you don't mind...

Links are clear.
You can upgrade your phone by Local Update method without unlocking your phone. The method suits for the situations listed below for sure: Update to Global Stable ROM from Global Stable ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Beta ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Stable ROM and vice versa. If you encounter the issue that the reboot page keep loading for a long time after flashing, you can choose to wipe all data via entering Recovery Mode. You can turn off your device and then hold both Volume+ button and Power button at the same time to enter Recovery Mode.
STEP 1Download the latest MIUI ROM file Click here to download
There is no need to do it again if you’ve already downloaded the latest ROM file.
STEP 2Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and copy the ROM file downloaded in Step 1 into the folder ‘downloaded_rom’ in the internal storage of your device.
STEP 3Launch ‘Settings’ app on your device, select ‘About phone’, click ‘System update’, then press ‘three dots’ icon at the top-right corner, and select ‘choose update package’ to enter. Choose the ROM file you’ve put in ‘downloaded_rom’ in Step 2.
View Image
STEP 4After choosing the right ROM file, your device will begin upgrading. Your device should automatically boot to the new version when the update is completed.
Go to system update->tap on the main icon 5/6 times, this will unlock hidden settings->now download manually from trusted websites like mifirm the RECOVERY version of YOUR rom. ->go then to update again and select on the three dots at the up right "choose update package"

If nothing works, try changing the region: belgium.
There are some fix for errors like that, check it out
This video shows a way how to do it:
Can't confirm if this is the best/official method, but it seems easy.
Ok guys thanks! I was able to update without issues.
I was hoping it would fix a bug I face with setting custom ringtones, but it didn't.. very annoying..

You'd need windows..
So if you're on a Mac like I am for work then you could use boot camp and have a dual boot or just get parallels, have an OS within an OS, it's £70 a year but it works extremely well..

Your phones saying you have an update?
If you're rooted then you do not want to update the conventional way..
This is in my guide on rooting mate. Just follow it.
In short to update you do this.
1. Install oxygen updater
2. Change update method to full in the app.
3. If an update is available then download the whole thing, it'll be big.
4. Once downloaded, back out and navigate to the normal phones system update and click the 3 dots, then select local upgrade.
5. Take the update and let it install.
DO NOT REBOOT WHEN PROMPTED!!!
6. Back out and open Magisk.
7. Click the top install button and then install after OTA.
8. Reboot and you're updated and rooted.
I'm on NE2210_11_A.13 too, local install doesn't work (it doesn't recognize the Oyxgen ROM)

Turn on airplane mode, turn off wifi, then reboot, does it show it then?
read this the other day, someone was able to get it to show by doing something like this.
Or could be a Magisk module causing it, if you disable them then reboot, that may make it work.

It doesn't show if there is an update pending to install. Solution is to reset the phone and not connect it to the internet or to delete the installation hidden files.
Unfortunately the problem is not finding the option, but that when you pick the .zip for Local Install it says it's invalid. I've downloaded the ROM .zip file directly from Oxygen Updater and from external links to no avail.

Correct, NE2210_11_A.13 is the Chinese version. I'm attempting to simply install an OxygenOS official ROM but it's not allowing to. I have an OP8 Plus and it worked very easily, simply pick the original ROM, local upgrade (now the option is called "Local install" instead) and then clean cache and good to go. This is not working now for whatever reason. I tried both in A.12 CN to A.12 EU and A.13 CN to A.12 EU.

The problem is you are trying to install Indian software onto European one. Don't know exactly why, but is is not possible. On the other hand you can do fastboot enhance your burnt will wipe your device and probably brick it if you don't read guide properly.

Is easy to change region on Oxygen Updater.
You can download, you can install, but people did this on 9 Pro and got problems with SIM card and other functions of the phone. That may not happen to you, but you take the chance?..
On top of this you must wipe your phone with downgrade rom or MSM tool...
you need to use the full rom, not the ota

Question [NE2215] OxygenOs 13 C.19 (After OTA Issues)

Before updating android i read that there could be some bugs despite being a stable rom. however, what is happening with my device is that it is apparently not charging.
Yesterday it was at 30% battery... When I tried some things with fastboot enhance, it showed up with 79%. That is, maybe it is loading, but the system is not recognizing it.
Is there any solution for this? Or would I have to go back to android 12?

You mean from settings, right? Didnt work too :/
Okay, I'll explain from the beginning. I was on rom 11 c.16 and had root access.
I unrooted completely and flashed the new C.19 version. I don't remember if I reset the device before putting the new version... After I updated, I rooted it again correctly...
(i downloaded full version c.19 by oxygen update app and flashed it by fastboot enhance)
I didn't realize it at the time, but I believe that since I updated the cell it didn't appear that it was charging anymore.
Finally, I was trying to go back to the previous rom (Hopefully that would solve it)... Following the steps in fastboot enhance... as soon as I clicked on reboot to fastboot, the device entered the mode and appeared with the battery at 79% whereas it was at 30%.
Since then I tried to reset through recovery mode and via OS as well but none of them worked.

Ok so avoid fastboot enhance. You really don't need that..
Rollback to 12 with the local APK and relevant rollback package..then update, then wipe, then root.
No idea why it's happened but it seems quite fixable and almost certainly something to do with the base change from 12 to 13.

From what I've seen the NA and Global versions work equally. Wait for it to finish now and see what happens
This is now the NA version of Rollback
The title of the thread is 2215 which is the NA version, the Global misnomer comes from one of their own posts though iirc.
@Diguinho76 The NA rollback full zip is your best bet right now.

Question OTA Update Fails With "Installation Problem"

NE2215, Rooted running .c22.
I have followed all the rules, unrooting with Magisk restoring images, then either using the system updater to download the OTA, or the local update apk to install an OTA. In every instance, whether it is c26 or c30, it fails with the unhelpful message "Installation Problem"
I suspect that this was caused by my having at one point installed the unofficial TWRP recovery, which I later uninstalled and replaced with the stock recovery. I had thought returning to the stock recovery would solve the problem, but it continues to exist.
Can someone suggest the steps I should take to get the phone to take the update? This was not a problem when OnePlus was providing full installs, but I'm having no luck at all with the recent updates.
Many thanks for your help.
Maybe Oxygen Updater has full download link?

I would try to flash stock boot.img without any root etc., reflash stock recovery if possible and then download FULL ota link using oxygen updater and then via localupdate.apk try to install it.
Also you can try to use this software:
OPPO System Upgrade Tool | OPPO Global
Only 5 steps to upgrade to new system. Always optimize your OPPO device when there's the latest software update available to enhance the system stability.
www.oppo.com
It should be possible to upgrade your OP10P with it even with OxygenOS without issues.
Hopefully some of those will help you to upgrade.

Not necessarily. It can be partial and full, too.
Full updates are released in case of any issues, also rooted devices need full update files.
Give it a shot and hopefully you will be successful.

When I unroot (restoring images) and then try to boot the stock boot image, (just to check before actually flashing it,) it goes into Crashdump mode. Any ideas how to fix? (Since I just booted rather than flashed, I'm out of Crashdump mode but back to square one.)

You can try complete uninstall of the magisk by clicking on that button in the app, but better have a backup of your data if anything goes wrong.
Or you can just download the full Ota zip using oxygen updater and use that local update apk if it goes through. Also use that local update apk for android 13 as there is for A12 and for A13. It might solve the issue too.
Did you flash stock recovery to both slots the last time?

yes. you flashed the slot you were on and was able to update since you have the stock images, but now you're on the other slot that probably still has twrp.

Okay, I flashed stock recovery to both slots, but still update fails. The system says that I am running c.22, and tries to update me to c.30. On the other hand, the Oxygen Updater says "You need to install c22 first, and then update to subsequent updates via incremental." It then proceeds to download c.22. (I should note that at one time c.26 was installed; Not sure how we dropped back to c.22.)
Regardless, the update fails, even using the local update for Android 13.
Any ideas? I don't like the idea of being stuck forever on c.22.
