Hi all, I've got a Samsung Galaxy A71 dual sim phone running Android 12. I currently have my personal sim in slot 1 and my work sim in slot 2. I would like to use Tasker to automatically silence call and text notifications for anything that comes through SIM 2 between 6pm and 8am weekdays and all weekend if possible?
As far as I can tell, I can only put DND on globally for ALL calls and notifications through the native Android settings. Is this something Tasker can do, and if so how would I create that profile? TIA!

Anyone got this phone, My understanding of this phone is that I should have call waiting on the second line if am already on another call so i can either take the call and hold the second line but it seem to be sending my second calls straights to voicemail. Anyone confirm this is normal.
thanks
Can anyone please confirm if they can receive a call on their second line while on another active call, Someone has to have 2 sim cards in this...please...........
As far as i know every dual sim phone behave like this only.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The Moto G is a "dual standby" type of phone, which means that only one SIM can be active at the same time.
So when a call is active on the first SIM, the second SIM can not activate, which means that the call on the second SIM will go to voicemail instantly.
i think all smart phones or dual Sim phone behave like this . however if you are using dual Sim phone then you should have to set priority for which SIM is first launch to receive text or calls.
I use the second sim only to make a few calls during the day, because i have diverted the incoming calls to sim1 i activate the second sim only when i need it.
Do you know a widget to activate/deactivate the sim without passing in the preferences settings?
i've tried several applications but none seems to work.
The is question about MMS is regarding receiving MMS on the SIM that is not set to default for LTE. I believe I understand how data works regarding the dual sim setup on the phone -- both sims have the ability to connect to LTE, but only one sim can connect at time. The non-LTE set sim will only connect to 2g/3g for voice/text (no data even if connected to 3G, correct?).
My question is very specific: If I have LTE set to, say, sim 1, what happens if someone sends a MMS based group message to me on sim 2? I figure one of 3 things happens:
1. The MMS is downloaded and received automatically (whether through 2G/3G on SIM 2, or that somehow SIM 2 switches to LTE in the background so that it can download the MMS)
2. The MMS is not downloaded, but SIM 2 receives a sms notification that an MMS is ready for download (which would be done by either just tapping download to make the phone switch LTE to SIM 2 in the background, or by manually switching the LTE to SIM 2, then tapping download)
3. There is no indication on the phone that an MMS has been sent to SIM 2, and I either miss it completely, or only see it if I just happen to switch LTE to SIM 2 at some later date (before the expiration date, anyway).
Can anyone help to clarify this for me? I can live with options 1 or 2, but 3 would be difficult to live with. My understanding is that with many Dual Sim Dual Active phones, the behavior is that of option 2. I'm hoping that Dual Standby is similar when it comes to MMS receiving. SIM 2 would be for work, and MMS-based group messages are sent out when urgent issues come up (work in IT, and I am on call often).
Any insight is appreciated. My goal is to get a phone that is both dual sim (support for LTE on either sim) and supports Android for Work. So far the only devices that I've seen in this price range are the P8 Lite and the Honor 5x (both the Zenfone 2 and Laser meet one of these needs or the other, but not both).
I just realized I posted this in General rather than Q&A. My apologies. Spent some time before I posted this in a forum for a different phone that had General and Q&A kind of mixed into one. A mod can feel free to move it if they want.
Issue I have is sim 1 (bell Canada) which I have set for calls only receives SMS if I make a call or switch airplane mode on and off. Then I'll get them all. Sim 2 (Freedom Mobile Canada) rli use for data receives SMS right away. Not sure what's happening anybody any ideas. This happens on stock messaging app and on Android messages. Any help would be appreciated. Need text to work properly.
Hi,
Got the note 9 since friday. working great. but i noticed that when i call on sim2, i can use mobile data of sim 1.
Default mobile data is from sim1. and phone calls are set to ask every time.
now my sim2 is my work number. during the working hours i call alot with this number.
my sim 1 is my private sub from t-mobile. and i mainly use the data plan of it. since i dont wanna use the internet that my boss pay's for for my personal use.
Now since i got this setup. what happends is. some one texts me a foto through whatsapp. and then calls me to sim2 before i can look / dowload the picture. then when i pickup the phone they ask me did u see the picture i sent you. i then open whatsapp. but i get the msg no network.
what i noticed is that when i call on sim1 i still have LTE data. (cause sim1 provides the data)
so it cant use data from sim 1 and voice from sim2 at the same time?
also is there a way to set certain apps to use data of a specific sim card?
lets say i open my 2nd whatsapp that it loads the images sent there from my sim2 network
but when i open my 1st whatsapp (2nd app cloning) it uses data from sim1?
or any other apps for exmp chrome and samsung internet?
is there any tweak that automates the switch data to sim2 as soon as i make a call with sim2?
now i can just click on the sim settings menu and change the default data to sim2 to receive data during the call. but when im driving in my car this are alot of buttons to press and i rather not.
i don't own N9 yet. read about dual sim technology varieties on the net, theoretically N9 should be able to get dual VOLTE feature on both SIMs (assuming it supported by carrier(s), and phone shows VOLTE icon on both SIMs). in the event you are making call on SIM 1 & trying to get data on SIM 2 or vice versa, this requires dual sims dual volte (DSDV) feature kicks in and liberates you to choose which SIM to get data from.
might really want to consult with your carrier(s) if both SIM support VOLTE.
Are you able to get VoLTE and WiFi calling to work on the international dual sim F variant of Note-9 on US T-mobile network?
