S-Pen air gestures and functions after custom ROM - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

I'm new to this whole custom ROM scene, so the answer may be obvious already, but if I were to install a custom ROM like PIxelExperience, would the S-pen still have its functionalities? Or if ever it doesn't, would there be apps I can install to bring back those features?

In simple terms stock based roms will use the Sony skin and many of Sony's apps - typically the developer will have tweaked the build to improve performance or used the most recent version of Sony apps from higher end devices (the Z1 for example). They may also add some extra features - (using the volume buttons to skip music tracks/advanced reboot menu).
Custom Roms won't have any of the Sony features and generally will be closer to unskinned AOSP (Android Open Source Project) in appearance. They will mostly have some unquie features and be more options for customisation than a stock based ROM. Developers can also release higher versions of Android than Sony, allowing the user to experience Kit Kat long before Sony release a build. They tend to perform better than stock builds because they are less bloated. Sony has significant facebook integration within it's builds for example, similarly whilst it's possible to ignore it, there is a lot of secondary marketing within a Sony build trying to get you to use their music/video/games services. Most of these apps are heavy, slowing down the device. The SP copes fine, but their are definitely smoother custom roms out there.
Ok thanks !

Rooting and installing ROM

Hey guys,
I know that this kind of thread is not allowed here, but I really need your help.
My girlfriend has an i8190, stock (with Vodafone Portugal's firmware), but now the phone is getting really slow, and with some annoying bugs (sometimes the status bar stops working).
So I was thinking of installing a custom ROM on her phone. But the thing is... Right now, I'm with her only at weekends, so I can't install a custom ROM with bugs, lots of random reboots, etc.
My question is: should I install a custom ROM, or is it better to reinstall the stock ROM (maybe the debloated version)?
Thanks!
I'm not sure about that model, if it has NFC it won't work on any custom rom Samsung never released the driver, everything else is working at least for me I use pac rom because of customization but I would recommend Omni Rom or Cyanogenmod 11 because of stability in pac rom I have a bug that connects/disconnects the phone while plugged to the PC, and I haven't had reboots with custom rom in months,I prefer custom instead of stock mainly because I had reboots in stock and lag

Spen use on custom roms

Hello, I'm wondering if there's any app or custom rom that supports or allows the spen to have the same or almost the same utilities that it has in the stock rom.
This is because I'm not sure if its better to update the phone to the latest android version with a custom rom without spen utilities or keep the current stock rom with the spen utilities.
Thanks and great day.
yes they are - try to read about on the snapdragon and exynos forums - there are roms which support some functions.
the app(s) are not included in the rom, you need to dig in xda

Question Should I install a custom rom to my phone?

Hi, so I'm new to the modding community and I was wondering if I should install a custom rom to my phone (cause I heard of some improved features), and if so which one PixelOS or ArrowOS?
Are all the features working?
