Update when Bootloader unlock?

i have rooted and unlocked my 4 hours old moto G 2nd G, i dont plan on installing any ROM since there will be new updates coming for this phone, im asking, can i update to 4.4.5 or 5.0 on this phone if the bootloader is unlock and i installed twrp?
Motorola will not allow to install the updates on modified Stock..
If U wants OTA updates then u have to remove everything like Root, recovery & Xposed installer then flash stock recovery using fastboot...
Rooting & installing Custom roms & recoverys breaks OTA Updates.

[Q] Question about ROOT for upgrade to Android 5.0

Friends, I have a question.
What about OTA updates when the device is ROOT? I need to unroot my device to upgrade to Android 5.0? I hope your answers please!
Typically "Yes"; OTAs usually check for an unmodified stock ROM as a prerequisite. This is my first Motorola but would expect a similar requirement.
You can also skip OTAs, flash a custom recovery and wait for someone to post a pre-rooted Lollipop build that you like, and flash it via the custom recovery.

[Q] Question about custom recovery and OTA updates

Hi all, it's with great delight that I managed to get Lollipop on my Moto G thanks to the amazing XDA forums
So my problem started that I couldn't install the Lollipop OTA update because I had TWRP. I found the stock 4.4.4 image for the Moto G 2014 and followed instructions to flash everything from boot.img to recovery.img. After my phone was now in "stock" I was able to install the OTA update.
Now my question is: could I have just flashed the single stock file "recovery.img" and achieved the same effect? That would remove TWRP wouldn't it? Allowing for the OTA update to just work?
(asking because I don't want to have to go through all this again in the future as I'll have forgotten!)

OTA Update on rooted Mate S

Hi everybody,
I have a pending notification on my Mate S (CRR-L09) for an update.
As I have unlocked the bootloader, installed a custom recovery (TWRP) and rooted the device, I can't perform this OTA maj. I tried via HiSuite but it doesn't find any available MAJ.
My question is, how to perform an OTA update in this case? I read some threads where it is said that we have to unroot, flash a stock recovery, etc.. It is very fastidious just to perform an OTA update.
I believe i read somewhere that it is possible just to go in TWRP, find the MAJ file, flash it, and install the MAJ from TWRP. Could you confirm this is possible?
If yes, how to do it? I think I have to find the location where the MAJ file is stocked, because I don't know where is it.
Thank you in adavance,
Julien

OTAs Keep Breaking

I've been trying like Hell to get OTA updates working on this phone. I finally found that downloading the earliest Oreo release from https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=229118 will get OTA updates finally working. Other ROMs I've downloaded won't give the the option to update or will continuously be unsuccessful. I'm not sure why these ROMs are different. I managed to get OTAs installed up to April, but I simply booted(not flashed) twrp and OTAs refused to install after that. So not only does unrooting or re-flashing the boot.img not fix OTAs, simply booting into a custom recovery will break them. Is this because the recovery and boot partitions are combined on this phone? Is their anyway to root and/or install a custom recovery on this phone without losing OTAs forever?
