I have Xiaomi redmi note 9 pro. The items from my home screen suddenly disappeared so I deleted the system launcher data, hoping that this will fix it.
Now my system launcher returned to my original state.
Is there any way to restore the system launcher and get back the items from my home screen? Maybe through a Google account backup? How?
Can you, please, help me?

I tried out Cyanogen 6 RC2 for the first time today on my rooted locked-bootloader N1. Fiddled around for about half an hour and then restored my prior nandroid backup. I was also able to use TitaniumBackup to restore app and system data.
One question: I see that the launcher app is not the same as on stock N1. So even though Titanium backs up the launcher data, my home screens can't be restored to Cyanogen's ADWLauncher. So my questions:
1) Is it possible to load back in the stock N1 launcher, and then restore data to it by Titanium to get back exactly the home screens I had before?
2) Can ADWLauncher (or any other app) backup the layout of my (stock launcher) home screens and restore them to ADW/LauncherPro/etc?
It just seems such a pain to set everything up from scratch if it's not needed... I've got a bunch of folders full of AnyCut shortcuts that I'd have to recreate one by one again.
AFAIK it's not possible to export/import homescreens between different launcher apps... Myself I use Launcher Pro which has a built-in backup function. When switching ROM & after reinstalling/restoring your apps, importing the Launcher Pro backup works like a charm...
What you need to do is load cyanogen. Then remove that launcher and push the stock launcher to replace the cyan launcher. Now your backup should restore fine for your home screens.
When installing custom roms.. when going from one to totaly another rom.. it's always best to start clean and don't use any restoring programs because they usualy confuse the **** out the current system.
Manual restoration of all apps etc is best.

Ok well I tried that. The problem is, the AOSP-compiled Launcher2.apk which is intended to work on CM6 isn't recognized by Titanium as the same program to restore the data back to. So I get the stock launcher but I can't restore the backup. I tried forcing it to restore the launcher data to Launcher2 anyways and that resulted in force-closes.
Anyway that's my ROM experiment for the day =)
Is it not possible for someone to write a program that backs up home screens and restores them later? Even better if it could be across different launchers.

I'm not an expert, but did you make sure to make sure the launcher name is the same as what it should be? I think it has something to do with that but I don't know what exactly. I remember reading about that around the forums here.
No idea. I've already restored it back to stock rooted. But any other suggestions are welcome.
Hello. I was wondering how to restore all my apps. I want to be able to log in with my account so all my settings such as homescreens, apps and setting are restored. Also that all apps i had installed are automatically downloaded into my device

Hi all,
Can Samsung Smart Switch restore/transfer 3rd party launchers like Nova? Can it restore all my apps data?
Thanks
No, but you can do the backup and restore with "Helium Backup", create a backup of Nova Launcher inside of Nova Launcher on a SD card and restore the backup on your Note 9

You can do a Nova backup to an SD card or to your Google Drive and restore to your new phone.
Doing a full phone backup and restore to new phone takes some work and time. As others stated above, for Nova backup your settings to your SD card, then put your SD card into your new phone.
For texts, calls and phone settings, Samsung smartswitch will do all of that. For apps AND their data you have to use Helium. Helium is slow and often takes many tries to get certain apps to fully migrate their data. I suggest backing up the app data from your old phone, then when you install the new apps on your new phone, just have Helium install the new apps fresh from the play store but let Helium add the DATA for those apps in as they install. That has worked the best for me at least. You can try to do full app and data backup via Helium, but that takes much longer to transfer the apps and data to your new phone.
I really, really wish Titanium didn't need root to do app/data backup and migration. Titanium works so much better/faster than Helium, but at least Helium works (most of the time).
Is Helium safe?
It will not mess with warranty, knox fuse, secure folders?

It's completely safe. Does not mess with any of those things. Warranty is safe. Helium is the only non-root app and data migration tool that works (to my knowledge).
I just tried Helium, it can't backup about 70% of my apps :'(
I need help to restore my GBWhatsApp Plus chats!
On Samsung Note 8 Android Pie, GBWhatsApp Plus 6.65 ([email protected]_hoak)
1. Did my phone backup va Samsung Smart Switch.
2 . Followed the steps to get the call recording function (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/call-recording-android-9-t3846235/post78869864)
3. After my restore, when I tried to start GBWhatsApp and clicked the red button "Restore", loading bar appeared and app closes by itself.
4. Tried the following to reattempt s/n 3 but no avail:
a. Restarted my phone
b. Upgraded to GBWhatsApp Plus 6.70 (GBWAPlusv6.702.18.327_arm64v8a)
c. Restored GBWhatsApp application backup specifically from Samsung Switch
------------
P/S: I did not manually backup my chat in GBWhatsApp as I subconsciously treated that it was automatically backup-ed like the original WhatsApp / taken care of by Samsung Smart Switch.
Also, was trying to research on restoring GBWhatsApp chat backups and I stumbled on posts mentioning about GBWhatsApp folders on the file mangaer, however my phone shows WhatsApp folders instead, is this because I'm on the GBWhatsApp Plus version?
Is this all making any sense? Is there anything that I missed / else that I need to do successfully get my chats back?
Currently, I'm running GBWhatsApp 6.70 (from s/n 4b) in the meantime. Really want to get my previous chats back and later do a merge of previous and current chats.
Appreciate any kind help/advice on this! :crying:

1stly backup your whatsapp account to your Google Drive. Insert your GB SIM into your device and install whatsapp normally. There will be an option to restore from your back up,
This is the very reason why prefer Telegram over Whatsapp.

You're referring to backing up previously or currently? Since I'm on GBWhatsApp Plus, I don't see the option of auto-backup to Google Drive except manually clicking back up. What do you mean by GB SIM? Original WhatsApp? I'm confused

I felt the same when this happened. Unfortunately, most of my contacts on still on Whatsapp and I need functions from the GB mod.
the title says it all , i want to backup everything in my phone so when i flash new rom i don't take time getting back everything like it was
Sync with xiaomi cloud, will make good backup of your setting and home screen, with apps it's not good, it will restore the apps but not app data and it very slow. So i make local backup with titanium. After clean flash i setup a new device, install titanium and magisk manager and run xiaomi cloud sync, after restoring home screen i run titanium restore and then enter google account.
This way you will need to reinstall 2 or 3 apps, for example dropbox is always crushing after this. And bank apps don't like it. But everything else restored like it was before clean flash.
It's the best way i found.
Titanium Backup

thanks guys .
Just wondering the above. I'll be sending my Note9 in to Samsung for repair, which entails a factory reset. I'd like to backup my apps, app data (e.g. logins), & phone settings before the factory reset, and then restore them when I get the phone back?
What's the best way to do this? Is Smart Switch the best solution, or should I use something else?

I don't think smart switch could backup apps data or whole phone setting. It could backup messages, contact, apps and call history maybe.
Perhaps samsung cloud could do more but never use it either.
With root, swift backup/titanium backup could backup apps data. Not sure about backup/restore of whole phone setting though.
TWRP recovery backup all .
Smart Switch backs everything up, except the Apps and Secure Folder, but it will backup everything about the apps except the app, so their settings are restored but the app is automatically downloaded.
