Is there an ADB command for magnification to increase it to zoom out more? I wish it had more options for the sizes and zoom. Just wondering if there are any adb commands for that. Thanks.
Bump
My Google-Fu tells me no, although I don't really know.

I read that some peoples have issues with the touchscreen sensitivity. I've thinked i've got the same problem until i activate some developers options Options: "Show touches" and "Pointer location". Thereafter i realized that the touchscreen is perfectly responsive, the only issue is that when i click somewhere, my finger sometimes slip a bit and the touchscreen take it as a Swipe, then i have to click another time. The TF701 have a high density PPI (300) and it seem the touchscreen is not calibrated in accordance to that density.
By example (I don't know the real values!)
on my Motorola XOOM (150 PPI), the device need at least 30 pixels movement to detect a swipe = about 2/10 inches
on my TF701 (300 PPI), the device need at least 30 pixels movement to detect a swipe. = about 1/10 inches
What do you think about it?
Is it tunable by an application?
I found TouchScreenTune on the PlayStore but have never tested it since it's not marked as TF701 compatible, and i'm not root.
I found editing the following options makes a huge difference.
In the build.prop add the following lines:
Code:
# Improve Touch Pressure
touch.pressure.scale=0.001
ro.min.fling_velocity=90000
ro.max.fling_velocity=200000
Obviously the first line is just a comment
Also you can speed up browsing by enabling debugging mode in the browser by typing the following in the address bar
Code:
about:debug
Then go to the settings and the new debug menu and enable:
enable hardware accel
enable cpu upload path
enable light touch

Or just unlock and flash CROMi-X for all these and loads of other tweaks built in
Is there a way to change these settings without flashing a new ROM?

Well you need to be rooted but yes just follow the instructions above. The browser set won't stick on a reboot though so you'll have to keep doing it.
Hey guys possibly a very unusual question for ya but here goes. I would love to be able to fix the aperture at f1.5 in auto mode. I know this is a "feature" to have an adjustable aperture, but I just like the look so much more when the aperture is wide open. It's a little softer and the depth of field looks much better in my opinion. I know it's sharper stopped down, but I just don't dig it. So I know you can shoot at 1.5 in pro mode, my issue is that you have no control over aperture in auto mode and sometimes I'd like to use auto HDR, which they have no option for in pro mode So yeah that's my question! Let me know if you have any ideas
I really don't like sending tall 19:9 aspect ratio photos to my friend that has 16:9 phone. I already disabled the notch and enabled the navigation bar so that reduced the screen a bit, so that's now maybe a 18:9, but my friend still sees black bars on to the sides of her phone. Any more tricks like this, any way to open an app with a different resolution? I don't have root and I heard it's a complicated process to get it, so I would prefer not to do that.

Try changing your resolution to 1080p (not 1080pi) with adb

But that would change the resolution for the whole device, right?

Yeah, maybe try using Tasker? I'm not sure if it allows you to use commands like that if it's not rooted. If it does, you could just run that command when the app's open and the revert it once you close
hey OP, how did you enable the navigation bar to stay in snapchat?? i'm looking for a way to do this?
About to pull the trigger on two 4xls. Looked at a Verizon version at Best Buy yesterday which was not in "demo mode" like the one on the Google stand. I couldn't see any toggle to bring the screen resolution down to a 1080p or equivalent ratio to save battery. Did I not see it?
I also couldn't see double tap to wake and shut options like on my current oneplus 6t that I have gotten very used to. Any luck with that?
There is no toggle to bring down the resolution, but with a few adb commands (you'll have to enable developers options) you can get it down to 1080p
adb shell wm density 444
and
adb shell wm size 1080x2280
Double tap to wake is there. If you are open to using a different launcher, you can use double tap to turn the screen off without hindering the biometrics. Both lawnchair and nova launcher support this within their gestures submenus.
There's not much battery saving, if at all, with lowering the screen resolution.

Thanks. Can I assume that enabling developers options is enough and no need for root? I will surely give it a try if I don't have to root.

That was interesting. I guess if screen is made QHD there's no sense in throttling it down to FHD.

Exactly. I would just keep it as is.

OK I can't figure out how to open the wide-angle camera and take a photo. The official Camera app doesn't have it anywhere that I can see. I'm sure it's right under my nose, but where?
Open the camera app, on top of photo mode you'll see 1X, tap on the left dot and it will go in 0.6X(Ultra wide lens), or pinch in with two fingers to change zoom, when you'll get at 0.6X zoom it will change the lens to the ultra wide one. Another way is trought pro mode, click lens on bottom right and choose UW(ultra wide)
Huh. Well I'll be damned. I never, ever would have figured that out in a million years.
On my Xiaomi 9 the wide angle lens was like a fisheye. This one is straight. Weird! OK thanks anyway, I appreciate that.
Another dumb question: how do I access the "telemacro" camera and what does it do?
In fact, is there some tutorial somewhere that walks you through all of the camera's features and how to use them? I'm looking at https://www.mi.com/global/mi-11/ and it's mentioning tons of features that I didn't even know were there. One-Click AI Cinema? Ultra Night Video? Night mode?
