Please, can anyone help me out?
I completely formatted my G1 and failed to Enable Debug Mode first D:
I DON'T have a data plan but i DID entirely and successfully taken the steps use my WiFi but because my G1 is not in Debug mode, my PC(win7) isn't able to see it.
Is there any quick fix?
I've searched around the web and haven't even found another case such as mine.
Any help is better than none at all, Thanks!
Arin~
What exactly do you mean formatted? As in a wipe from recovery? Or do you mean from your PC using adb shell? Or... Just tryin to get a good feel for what's going on. Also, what debug mode are you talking about exactly? I assume you aren't talking about USB Debugging...
-Ehh, formatted as in.. I was trying to change the Google account on the phone and i think i deleted all of the data off. but i didn't enable debug mode(USB). so.. now im stuck
-i did the format/wipe, from the menus in-phone, NOT recovery
-I may be using the wrong wording for some stuff but im glad you're at least asking me about it, thanks.
This is my first post, so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place.
First I'll give you a bit of a backstory.
Installed Viperone Rom
Enjoy it; going well
I made a backup
The next day, I check my storage and I have like 1GB of space free. I got scared...
So I was looking around forums, and someone said you should try wiping the device
Okay I did that, and that fixed most things. Except the Viperone rom was acting weird... it didn't seem right.
So I did ANOTHER wipe, but a more extreme wipe (Woops), I can't remember what I did, but I basically I got rid of the OS!!
I'm trying to use fastboot USB, but my pc isn't picking the phone up (even though it did before), and I have all the drivers, etc.
So basically I can't load a rom back onto it, because it won't connect to my pc. And correct me if I'm wrong, but is a rom the OS, or is the OS the OS? Have I completely f**ked up?
I've tried using an OTG cable (with a micro sd) to put the rom on my phone, but my phone isn't even picking up the OTG cable!!
I'd like to mention I'm using TWRP.
Okay guys I think i've fixed it. I "mounted" the OTG usb, and now I'm able to install the rom.
Hello,
As the topic says, somehow all my camera photos are missing from the internal memory of my Xperia Z (10.3.1.A.0.244). I don't know how this happened, either it happened spontaneously after video recording or I did it accidentally when I tried to remove a different folder when connected to a Mac (im not used to Macs).
I am trying to find a way to restore the deleted files, but it only appears in Win as a MTP device, which can not be detected by recovery softwares.
It seems like the only way out is rooting the phone before I can restore any file according to this guide. However to root my Xperia Z I first have to flash it according to this thread. If I flash it, will I still be able to recover any information from it, such as my lost photos?
Would be very grateful for any advice!!
Hi,
i just thought about encrypting my mini 2 and thought if there maybe is someone here, who already did this and can share his experience with me.
I would like to know if there are two or only one PW to enter the phone,
can i get pictures, videos,... from my phone via USB to my PC and watch them there?? (i read somewhere that this is not possible but this makes no sense for me)
what about rooting?? is it still possible to root the phone, after it is encrypted??
i shout down my phone every evening and boot it in the morning. So are the files always encrypted, or only when the phone is shuted down??
I think you only encrypt storage.
If you don't have external sdcard it wont make difference if you use password or other lock screen, as nobody can read the contents.
If external sdcard then encryption will work if you remove card to another device.
You don't need to switch off you phone every night. You can always use "do not disturb" option.
Rooting - you will need to unlock Bootloader and this will reset your phone to factory settings(you will loose everything)

Thank you for the answer.
About the rooting. When i rooted my Desire i needn't to make a reset to unlock the bootloaded. i just needed to wipe everything when i flashed a new rom
Maybe you didn't notice because you wipe everything yourself but when you unlock bootloader it resets to factory settings.

Hey Guys,
My phone's screen got broken a few months ago. I remember I tried to recover the data from the phone but I hadn't enabled USB debugging prior getting it broken and had a really hard time trying to find a solution. I indeed realised that I can flash a Custom Recovery through Fastboot mode (I can access them, even without a screen. Intuitively and thanks to adb.) in order to log into the Custom Recovery and then be able to perform adb commands to pull out the data from internal memory. It seemed fair, but I just couldn't get it to work, given the fact that I also had no visuals of what I was doing, even though I followed correct steps. My question and help I need from you, is:
- Has anyone stumbled upon such inconvenience, and if yes how did it turn out?
- Could someone please tell me if its even possible to execute adb commands through a Custom Recovery in this phone, and which recovery would that be? (a redirection link/download .img file would be very appreciated)
- Recall my memory by telling me the basics of going to fastboot and after flashing the Custom Recovery, going into the CR from there. (Since I have no screen and its been quite a while, I don't remember the commands, button combinations of this phone). A video representation example would be greatly appreciated.
I really do not have a lot of time now, and I want to get the data back from the phone, precious photos and memories, and I can't have the luxury of time getting through the process alone with no proper guidance, so any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you!
