riceDroid for Samsung M21
What is riceDroid?
* Ricedroid is an operating system based on lineage/crdroid, that aims to provide necessary "ricing" for android while being fast and stable.
Terminology
* The rice in the project name can be referred to "rice" (food) itself, but in a sense it is indeed the term "ricing" in linux.
Based on Android 13

Is this rom based on the stock android 13 or the one ui 5.0 beta
Can you please also tell me the source for this build as there are little to no roms for exynos devices and it makes me very excited and curious to see someone make a stock android based rom
@munsuyog
Seems interesting
But how is the performance?
compared to one ui 2.5 or lineage os 17

Well reparation problems are usually based of for partitioning systems (in most cases its about A/B) in minor cases it should be fixed by just using repartition.zip which should also help in booting without problems
I would love to see an android 13 based rom
But i am being hesitative for installing this rom as i am a student and i need my phone for daily use
As long as the developer can guarantee me that the calling and camera and network features are working i would be happy to install and review this rom and support for the development of this OS

yes friend riceDroid 6.0 is A13 based ROM, but i wonder if its not booting because of 12 firmware needed? I tried installing it over A11 firmware so maybe thats why its not flashing?
Does NFC work on this rom?
I've tried it for a while. Camera/flash doesn't work as OP said. Navigation button shortcuts don't work either.
nice to hear that there is something going on! waiting for updates

cool so its for the good that I didnt upgrade firmware to 12 for this ROM then . Spark OS 13 GSI booted on A11 Firmware (but its a test build), so far I liked that coz it booted but Naz said he'll post latest Spark soon with more customizations, till then RD6.0 will probably bring update too but I don't think RD6.0 will boot on A11 Firmware though. Lets hope for the best.

It is currently an intial build and thus has many bugs from camera to calling
I would recommend you to wait for a stable buil
By the meantime you can try
LPOS 4.1 or ProjectX Rom
They are perfect for daily usage
Hope this helps

Also There is RiceDroid12 GSI available to test and it boots on SM-M215G. (https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Generic-System-Image-(GSI)-list?)
I didnt find many bugs but yes it could be much better like CrDroid you know.

Im loooking for a stable rom, not emui it lags as hell!
I had Bluetooth-issues on your Lineage OS rom -> doesn't work on this one either, I'm afraid. But this ROM feels much smoother in general, so I think I'll be sticking with it for now

Awesome. After a few days of use, the rom seems pretty solid! The only issue I've had is that since I have adopted storage on sd enabled and most apps installed there and the sd card taking a while to initialize, my homescreen resets after reboots. I solved it partially by moving the stuff I have on the homescreen into internal memory. It also crashed a few times the other day while setting up the Situations app. I think it might have to do with some bluetooth driver issues, because I get the error "Bluetooth Share has stopped" from time to time even though bluetooth is disabled, and Situations had some bluetooth stuff defined by default (I use that app to set volume automatically to mute/low/high according to if I'm at work/home/out somewhere, using wifi detection).
So if you can fix the bluetooth, I'd be really happy! Also battery life improvements are welcome, although I haven't really benchmarked this yet in that sense.
New update pushed into OP!
Changelog:
29/06/29 -
-Fix 4G/3G/2G toggle
-Fix Ril stops working across reboots
Thanks to @surdu_petru for helping me with this one.
And thanks to meticulus for his patches!

Btw does this ROM have OOS full screen gestures
Any bugs, you want us to try?
Hey, I flashed the experimental 21112018 build but I have no signals and it is showing I have no sim card installed.
Flashed OOS once, was already on OOS, then flashed Xenon, booted up and then flashed GApps. No root for now.
Please help if I made a mistake...
Nice to see you, dadi11. I remember you from my LG G3 days. I loved that workhorse. I'll give this a run for the money and provide general feedback.

It was just released! We're not even a page deep in posts. Give people a chance to install and test. With the holiday upon us, it may take some time to get user feedback.
Latest Pixel Camera Port -many force Closes and Night Sight not working , OP6 Cam is OK but after use of the Gcam and switch back to the OP6 Camera it doesnt work normaly. After Reboot the OP6 cam is then ok. The Gestures seems a little bit slower then the stock gestures on the latest Beta.
And .... How can i turn off the always on display, becouse the slider is off but nothing happens
I noticed that in my files app, the internal storage is hidden and you have to unhide it. When you unhide it, it shows up as 'unknown' but has all data in it
Edit: ambient display also seems to be always on when music is playing and the device is locked
When the screen of the mobile phone is off, the screen will light up for a while, then it will be off for a few seconds. What is the reason? I hope that the subsequent version can be solved. My mobile phone is one plus 6, and the ROM is based on Android 9.

Thank you!!!!

Working as supposed be. Like, dark theme won't be implemented at all the spaces. Just for the ones that Pixel also apply. And some features of PE Oreo won't be implemented, like advanced reboot menu, because of that detail of the ROM start to really to be the PixelExperience ROM.
Video not working
Hi,
First of all, I'd like to congrats for brilliant job. Fantastic rom.
I've a little problem, videos aren't working as well. They seem to be buffering, but they're not. It's happening with all videos (YouTube, gallery, Instagram). Beside that, videos aren't no audio.
I think that's easily to fix it. Should I flash some driver? Which one? Where I find it?
Help me.

Thanks . Kisses from my heart.
Thanks for your work @king1990. As soon as I have some time off work, I will download, install and give it a test
Curently I'm using the unofficial Lineage os 17, is the instalation the same or any difference?
Great Rom ! Thanks for sharing .
Install was flawless on my S9 which was on Latest Q from Alexander. Setting up phone now. So far no issues. Screen brightness is AWESOME. I usually run max brightness. Had to actually lower it. Will need time to run it thru my needs, but it's so nice to see a working AOSP ROM again that works
The other synt4x93-builds/Aosp-builds have trouble with the sim toolkit. Can't get it to work with bank authentication here inn Norway. Only devbase and soldier seem to work properly with authentication. Would love it if this will be adressed in Evolution!

Have ONE UI in this ROM?
I am almost in love with the rom! Thank you so much for the hard work! Almost everything I was looking for is right here, so I can't express how happy I am with it, Except for one thing. Could it be possible to have build WITHOUT GApps? Some of us do preffer not having them. Or At least having the option of using anything else.
Also I noticed some stuff like Disabling QC on Lockscreen, as well as the Power Menu Items don't seem to work.

Volte not working
First of all thanks for the ROM. Installation is successful, everything is nice and smooth, but volte doesn't work. I have a jio sim, and i am not even getting a text message. Jio have it's own calling app for non volte devices, but even that app isn't recognising my sim. Although mobile data is working alright.
It works on my S9, but it's not stable.

I was using latest realme ui, then I wiped caches, data, vendor and system before flashing the ROM via twrp.(I also did format data as I was booting into fastboot).
You won't be able to see the files in android folder w/o magisk, however you can see what folders does the android have via USB file transfer.
Btw which magisk should I flash for this??
Thanks Buddy! I'll give this a try! Hope it's a suitable as a daily driver

Thanks for your help! , I'll give it a try..
Hola!! Developers,
I would like to say that the ROM is fantastic. I have installed and flashed the latest Pixel Extended ROM, but while I was checking the ROM, u found out that in the gestures tab , brightness slider is missing , the one with which we can just slide on the status bar with our finger to adjust the brightness (without dropping down the notification panel).. if this feature is present on the ROM, please guide where is it or else add this feature as it's very convenient. Rest the ROM is pretty good , I am really grateful to the developers who came forward with this amazing work.
Keep it up !!!
Please add the feature of managing the brightness by sliding the finger on status bar. Which was present in the previous version of Android 10 - Pixel Experience Plus. The brightness adjustment just by sliding finger on status bar gives more convenience. Please add this. Thank you!
