Plugged the phone in to charge, fast charging indicator came on. After about 15 minutes, the phone shut off and never came back. The phone did feel much warmer than usual. No charging indicator, no sounds/vibration https://omegle.onl/ vshare. Ive tried multiple chargers, let it "charge" overnight. Nothing.
Just a dead blank screen. I saw someone siggested a wireless charging pad or trying a usbC to Hdmi adapter but ihavent had a chance to.
Any suggestions? Im going to end up throwing it up on ebay if i cant get it going.
Possible battery failure. Any swelling is a failure.
Get it looked at before you give it up. Not acceptable performance for a flagship unless it was abused.
Lots of problems with the variable refresh rate displays and the latter Samsung flagships. I'm still running N10+'s. This one has over 8k hours on it, the only the battery has been replaced and it's due for another. Always cased, it looks, feels and runs like new... that's the way it should be.

So friday I noticed that the time would lag. sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes 2 hours behind, a soft reset put it back in normal time. Weird. Today I went to grab it to go to work as it had been charging all night long with a steady green light. I open it up and there is a red icon for the battery...23%..... I hook it back up to the AC adapter and see what it does, it shows a plug to symbolize charging and I check it 30 minutes later, it has dropped to 20%. My bluetooth is off. I now have it hooked up to the AC adapter and removed the battery, i have the battery on a charging dock and the TyTn II has a faint red LED where the normal area for the charging LED is. I am gonna see whats happening in an hour with the battery...
Has this bricked?
Time lags and battery does load now. Its only been in use for 9 months, never been dropped.

I love how people never think the battery is going bad and always think it's the phone right off the bat.
Try another battery and see what happens. Hopefully you bought it new and still have the warranty on it.
Okaaaaaaaaaay....I do not lack in the technical department. The battery charges on the dock and I got it up to 100%. I loaded it back in the TyTn and let it sit for 3-4 hours and it dropped to 90%. I hooked up the AC Charger to it and I got the steady light up on top like it normally charged before all this. The battery continued to drain. I now have it powered completely off and using my old KRZR....(smartphone to cell phone....wonderful) I have a new battery on the way for a week now so it should arrive shortly.
Some wiring leading from the Mini-usb to the actual battery must be corroded or something. I cant explain it...I do live by the sea, and if the contacts are not gold plated in there...I can see some problems occurring. I doubt the warranty would still be intact as I have upgraded the ROM to Win 6.1

Thanks Garfield....I knew there had to be some sort of explanation....
My phones been dead for about a month, most hope was given up but heres my last ditch. I updated to android N preview. Used it like normal. The last day (before my phone ate ****) i was having problems charging it. It wasnt accepting the charge almost as if my "Quickcharge 2.0" had stopped. In fact it would discharge while connected to turbo charger. Anyways that day i went swimming, where i live its very hot i left it on the charger near the pool and it had gotten super hot. So i took it off and put it in a chair and it was on again super hot (hot enough that it burnt my hand when i touched the glass) and it was still on it hadnt shut off. Some people there put it in their cooler for me and that was that, although i noticed a burn mark on the actual usb port on the phone itself. Fast forward a few hours. I was skyping some chick got off skype. Turned my phone off in the hopes it would charge faster. ( it was at 13%) plugged it into the charger, Nothing. Tried to turn it on, Nothing. I finally got it to boot up ( i had to press the **** out of the power button) and the google logo came up. Then it turned off. Tried again to power it on. Same thing, google logo dead. Left it on the wall charger for an hour. tried to power it up, nothing. Used a samsung wireless charger on it for close to 3 hours. Tried to power it up. Still nothing. Power + Vol Down. Nope nada. Opened it up checked the wires everything was plugged in and secure. I didnt make it any further than the backplate because i stripped the screws. Since then its just sat on my shelf, but today i dropped it on my foot and i decieded to see if it would turn on, so i plugged it into my pc (and this is honestly the reason im writing this) and i wiggled the charger around and my pc actually "sensed" it. It said that "The usb device has malfunctioned" so idk what that means. Maybe its still there maybe not. Ik that if i can get my pc to recognize it again it will be difficult as that port on the phone is on its LAST leg.
Let me know what you guys think. Sorry for the short story. Just want to make sure you know everything as it happened
Also when i plug it into the wall, or use the Qi charger on it the device heats up/gets warm. Again dont know if its anything but the more the better.
Could be anything really, possibly a bad battery, if the QI charger isn't helping. How old is the device, and when did the usb burn mark appear?
Okay so I am going to give my best guess here, that the battery in your phone has gone bad, and it was killed by your charger going bad with an electrical short circuit.
Here is my reasons for think that...
Currently your phone won't accept a charge at all, so that leads me to believe that the battery has gone bad.
As for my suspicion that your charger went bad, I have had two different quality brand chargers (HTC and Samsung) go bad on me over the last 3 years or so.
Both times the charger failures caused the same symptoms on my phone that you described...the phone getting extremely hot, and the battery discharging, while connected to the charger, instead of charging.
Luckily for me, in both cases, my phone batteries did not completely croak.
In one case the battery did bulge out the phone, but it was an older HTC M7 and it kept working.
In the other case, I noticed that hot phone and the discharging, and immediately unplugged the charger and tossed it in the trash.
So that is just my two-cents.

What advices do you have to avoid this kind of problem?
Okay guys. I would have to check the IMEI to give you hard facts for the dates. Which I can do im just at work. But last I looked it was manufactured in, March of 2014 or close to that. Ik for a fact that he model was an XT1103 it was completely factory unlocked however my bootloader was locked. Storage was encrypted. And it was the 32gb version. Yes! It could quite possibly be my battery.
Before all this started I was having trouble getting it to charge and I was using a Samsung mini USB with it. But the outlets at the pool I don't think are designed to charge phones. Anyways the burn mark on my USB port showed up the same day. I just didn't notice it (I think) until later that day,but after I got it my phone no longer charged. It would either discharge off the charger, or discharge slower on it.

Sorry for the delay in replying...RF got in the way.
Anyways...I really can't offer much 'technical advice'. I can, however, offer some practical advice.
1. Use brand name chargers or be careful if you do use an off-brand charger.
2. If you are charging your phone (either on a brand name charger or an off-brand charger), and you either feel it getting hot or you see it discharging (or both) immediately unplug your phone and throw away the charger.
3. If you do notice that the battery on your phone is bulging, either replace the battery or if it is a sealed device, replace the phone.
Honestly, that is the only advice I can give.
So guys ive decided i m gonna go ahead and try and replace my battery since its rather inexpensive, im gonna order the parts from ifixit. such as anew midframe and battery. It should be done hopefully by next week. Im still completely open to opinions. When its complete ill make a post.

In my case, i use aukey quick charge 2.0 and it works great, when i charge the phone, i do it on the night and try to not use when it charge, i dont like to charge with scrap chargers, but thanks for the advice, i will take care on that
Alright well today my screwdrivers (ordered from china) came i disassembled the phone, havent gotten my battery yet but theres some things i would like to note. The first being that the old battery had alot of corrosion along with its contact to to mobo. ill update when i get the new battery in.
hi
everything 'was' okay with my N6 until I let the battery level slip right down to 2-3 %.
I went to charge it and now... nothing.
When I plug it in all I am getting is the 'empty battery' screen and, although I have used different chargers/cables the problem is still there.
I have had no issues with charging ect, even had a battery fitted a few months back to keep the phone in good shape.
I can (sometimes) access the fastboot screen but when I try to go into 'recovery' all I get is back to the 'empty battery' screen.
Any help out there?
This could be a variety of things. But, let's start with battery related.
If the battery is in good shape but completely depleted, then it's a bear to recharge. Try plugging it into a computer USB port for a few hours. For some reason, the factory turbo charger doesn't seem to recover from this state. If you have a wireless (inductive) charger, use that.
When charging, does the red LED come on? That is the only reason it was there from the git go. It communicates charging when the battery is really dead. If not, this might have something to do with the side buttons. If they are goofed, or the ribbon cable to them is damaged or disconnected, the battery won't charge.
thanks for taking the time to reply.
I left the phone plugged in overnight with no change but when I picked it up it started charging.
It went to 5% then stopped, I waited a few minutes and it started charging again... this time to 10%.
This pattern has increased during the day and i'm happy to say that with one xable it continues to charge.
No idea why but meh, i'm not complaining (much!).
Hopefully, I can nurse it through to October and then decide if I will purchase the XL 2 (headphone socket is going to be a must for me... if not, no more Google phones)
Sounds like a wonky USB port. A wireless charger might make life less stressful. Maybe you know someone who had one where you could test.
You might try cleaning the USB port.
One morning after being plugged in all night my battery was only 8%, I fired up Ampere and it was being charged but super slow and flattening, I tried a few previously working cables and chargers and same issue, then it went flat. Now no matter how long I charge it it won't power back on. I plug it in and the screen shows flat battery and notification light comes on, but then it turns off and stays off. Ive left it full days on chargers and PC to see if it could work it out.
Has anyone had this?
I see videos on USB replacement which I can try, although it was sudden not slow wear. I've cleaned the port to no avail.
I haven't found anyone in this country that can repair it as I had to grey import. The importer will work on the model but says they will definitely factory reset which I'd like to avoid
Brad.
Btw the usb port had corrosion that spread to the phone and it was not repairable. I've never had a phone that lasted such a short time, but that matched what everyone I talked to about Sony phones said, good but too fragile.
Hello people,
I am trying to diagnose/save my old Nexus 5x.
It got soaked in strawberry juice a week ago. I wiped it off as much as I could, and left it. I did not test it, because the battery had run out days ago. After trying to charge it yesterday, I noticed it would not charge or turn on anymore.
In a rescue attempt, I opened up the phone (and was surprised how easy it was to get the bare pcb in my hand), and found a ****ton of gunk. The juice didn't only get in, the acid also did its work on the steel parts. I cleaned it as much as possible with a cleaning cloth, and finished with and electric toothbrush, to get the gunk out of all the nooks and crannies. It turned out quite clean again, although I cannot see if it also got under the main IC's.
Before the cleaning, I got my hopes up because I saw the gunk was mainly concentrated around the battery connector. I think the juice or corrosion shorter the battery terminals and depleted the battery. After cleaning it properly I measured only 0,8V.
To my surprise, after reassembly, the phone worked again. It started taking charge, and after a minute or 2, I could start it up. It worked as normal and it was taking on 1,5A of current. I left it like that for a while, and then I noticed it stopped charging at 50% charge. The voltage was 3.2v according to AccuBattery app, and the battery temperature 49C. The latter was odd, since the battery felt cool. Nowhere near 49C. So I'm also doubting the voltage value of 3.2v.
Anyway, the phone was still working at that point. It was just wouldn't go past 50% charge. I tried unplugging the charger (phone stayed on, so battery works at least a bit) and reconnecting. But it still wouldn't charge. After trying to reboot, it never came back to life since. Basically, when I plug in the charger, the red light starts flashing (and phone is drawing 700-800mA. After a couple seconds, the screen comes on, showing the battery icon. After that, the Google icon shows. And then it shuts down again. At that point, the current also drops to a stable 300mA @ 7,5v. It does not charge though. All the power seems to go into one of the main IC's (not the charging one), which is heating up noticeably in this state.
Can anyone tell me what could be happening? Why is the IC drawing that power while off and "charging"? Any tips? The faced the phone booted and worked for a while, gave me hope.
Edit: Now its drawing 650mA @ 7,5v after being plugged in instead of the previous 300mA.
Edit2: It's booting! Drawing 600mA @5v.now while phone is on, while idle and under load no change. I'll keep you posted. AccuBattery and android say it has 50% charge again, but shows a negative charging current.
