if you have deleted the cow partitions you can flash the payload.bin via fastbootd (the payload.bin can easily be flashed with FastbootEnhance via fastbootd)

People really need to stop trying to flash with fastboot. You should have used Fastboot Enhance. It's pretty straightforward and if you accidentally cleared one partition you shouldn't have in FBE (it's kind of hard to tell with your English if you did or not, sorry), you could have tried to flash just that one partition with fastboot instead of using a script. OnePlus is your only hope now.
Will it go back into to fastboot...?
If you can try and set slot to A . if you get back to fastboot do this
" fastboot getvar current-slot " it should tell you what slot you on...A or B
if you on B then use this to set A active . Use this command to set A active
" fastboot set_active other " or " fastboot set_active a "

If you can't get to EDL or otherwise then it'll most likely be a swap or a board change.
Unless they have a lower level flash which I'm not aware of.
None of this can be done remotely.

Hello, I currently have the same problem. Today I was converting my xiaomi mia2 to mi6x. Everything was normal, until at one point of the transfer miflash gave an error and the transfer stopped, checking the logs I find that simply the USB stopped working, the phone now does not signal by the usb. Now we have a paperweight, apparently. I have researched and apparently can try to repair the phone using the "test point method", which forces the EDL mode on the phone for a few seconds that you should take to flash the rom from MiFlash.
Please check this and try to do so, for the moment I have no tools because we have to disassemble the phone. I hope you have appropriate tools and you can tell me if it works! -> https://en.miui.com/thread-3524265-1-1.html
This other guide is for the A1, but it has information that may be able to help you. -> http://en.miui.com/thread-1680467-1-1.html
EDIT: I can confirm that I solved the brick with this method.

I recently bought a bricked xiaomi mi8.
My problem is I can't get into edl mode cause the 2 pins are worn out really badly, (the previous owner literally dig into them and try to create a bridge by scratching the motherboard..)
I test both the pins with the multimeter and they are permanently connected to the ground and from each other I guess..
My questions are:
-can I unbrick the cellphone without edl
-if not can I eventually fix those pins (see attachment)

You no longer need to jumper the pin to get into EDL, you can enter EDL with this version of TWRP : https://mega.nz/#!QstBnAaD!V6riZpEjctWhzWhoFcDDEv0wRlFESfcEsxAHpdaerxE
Or by using the EDL adb command. Granted I realise that if you are bricked, that you do not have fastboot and that is likely the least of your issues if the phone is bound to someone else's MiCloud account.
Another option for entering EDL is to is use a EDL flash cable : Such as this one : https://www.amazon.com/GPG-EDL-Cable-2-in-1/dp/B06XXCLMGM
Once in EDL you can use the flashall.bat method to restore the phone to stock using a Full stock rom for the device that you have. If you device is a Global phone you need to use the fastboot version of the Global Stable rom.
You unpack the rom on your desktop, twice : The 2 GB will uncompress into a 4GB file, uncompress that file to see individual images. Locate the FlashAll.bat file and double click it ( of course with the phone attached and in EDL mode or fastboot mode.
This flashall, bat file will restore all partitions, and the phone will boot. The next issue, will be signing in to MiCloud, If the bootloader is unlocked you may be able to simply flash TWRP, Root, Rom of choice, and Gapps if needed. If the bootloader is locked and the device is bound to someone else account you are stuck. Unless you have the account credentials from the previous owner.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.
First of all thanks for ur reply.
I have the bootloader locked and I think the previous owner didn't register in a miui account..
I can enter into fastboot mode but the edl adb commands or trying flashing the rom are not working on this mi8 (maybe I'm doing it wrong idk..)

You tried the cmd : ( fastboot oem edl ) ? A Lot of people who have this issue are able to use the EDL cable that I linked in the earlier comment, you should buy it, its cheap or you can google how to make one yourself.
Here is an older post that may have some useful advice: http://en.miui.com/thread-290959-1-1.html
Here is another older post that is very interesting, and I just now found it : Try these steps. Obviously using the correct software for the Mi8 ( the link is for a Mix 2. However, at this point what will it hurt?) http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=3450268
If you have a Mi Cloud account and no account is bound to the device try using the Mi Unlock tool to check the bootloader status, it should still work, as long as the desktop can see the usb ports from the phone. If you manage to get into EDL that will be port 9008. If you can get into EDL using the commands in the post above, you can then sideload the stock rom to the phone...hopefully. The basic steps for EDL are outlined here : https://c.mi.com/thread-1479882-1-0.html
If no MiCloud account is bound to the phone, I am sure that you will be fine once a stock rom has been reinstalled. ( the one prior to the brick) If the phone is not bound and is locked you will still need to perform the unlock steps. Also, as we mentioned you don't necessarily need to open the phone to go into EDL.
Otherwise, you will need the assistance of n official Xiaomi Support shop.
Good Luck.

Hello and sorry for new thread if this was already discussed.
I have Chinese Mi 8 with Global unlocked ROM.
I tried to flash Chinese developer ROM on it in hopes of locking bootloader.
Flash started but in status I see
|| echo Mismatching image and device
Click to collapse
I let it run for 30 minutes but nothing was happening
Then I decided to flash back my Global ROM but every time I hit refresh in MiFlash it looked like phone disconnected from PC and instead of Fastboot on screen I only saw "Press any key to shutdown" in top left corner.
MiFlash would recognize the phone if I restarted back to Fastboot but same problem - || echo Mismatching image and device
THis happens on both Chinese and Global versions now, it acts like it's flashing but I do not see any progress.
I also tried to remove these lines
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *dipper" || echo Missmatching image and device
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *dipper" || exit /B 1

from .bat files as some users suggested but it just got stuck on "fastboot %* erase boot" and not move further
any suggestions how to unbrick my phone?

try with miui flash tool downgrade firmware
Hi flash in edl mode
Hi You have to flash the fastboot rom (Chinese/global) starting with test point method. (EDL method). You can google how to do. Suggest take it to authorized center as it involves opening the phone and connecting through EDL method. Otherwise If you can find somebody who can do this , then you can do - but still will ask for authentication code - while flashing. You can get the same with s-unlock.com for a charge...

you mean XiaoMiTool? same behaviour as MiFlash - device detected, when I try to send command to it it disconnects and XiaoMiTool says to allow usb debugging which is not possible
same issue was reported here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/help/help-press-key-to-shutdown-fastboot-t3816021
so I tried using different USB 2.0 port and even installed Windows 7 virtual machine to try it in Win 7 - same result
change usb port to 2.0 and try flash again in fastboot mode

thanks for info
will have to ask some friends for help as I only have systems with Ryzen(1st and 3rd Gen)
I'll try over next week and update if I'm successfull or not.
So I just tried to flash from Intel system and guess what?
IT WORKED - well, partially
After all the trouble I wanted to just flash Global ROM but that kept failing(too many links) after various amount of time
So I tried Chinese developer ROM and that one worked
Took a while to understand what it asks from me in Chinese but it was just my account password
So for now I'll keep this ROM, see what's the difference, what I cannot use, try to unlock bootloader officially and then flash Global ROM(if possible)
Thanks all for your help!
A friend had the same problem with ryzen CPU, we tried on my intel laptop and everything works okay!
